"We had a pleasant stay at Best Western Harborview. A great place to stay if you prefer exploring the Hong Kong Island side. Can be easily found, great location, very near the mtr and surrounded with convenience stores, market, fastfoods and local restaurants. Rooms are cleaned everyday, housekeeping were generous enough to provide daily supplies like extra water, towels etc. rooms are average 'hongkong sized' hotel rooms. Maximum of two persons can stay in a standard room. Very near central station, ferry piers and other good places to visit in Hong Kong Island like Victoria peak, causeway, Aberdeen, Hollywood Road, Sheungwan etc. will definitely stay here again on my next visit in HKG ISLAND. "Lots of nice restaurants around the area. Over all, the hotel are pretty good, location, area, room size & service, direct buses from airport and bus stop are very close to the hotel, the public transport are pretty good & easy to takes you to anywhere in Hong Kong, There are one of the oldest public transport “ Ding Ding” right down the hotel, recommend to have a ride, its slow but very cheap and no traffic jam as they are on the only rails, you might enjoy to take a ride to view the busy lifestyle in Hong Kong. If you like some relaxing activity, Stanley Bay, beaches are located in Hong Kong Island or there are lots of pubs and disco at “ Land Gwai Fong” The price rate is value for money, will recommend to friends and relatives. "The Mia Casa in situated in an 'off the beaten track' location - in a pure local area of Hong Kong Island, but for those seeking a very clean, comfortable and affordable accommodation - its well worth it. One can get to the hotel directly from the airport via the airport cityflyer bus service - A10. The applies when you need to get back to the airport as well. The bus service is recommended as its a different way to see Hong Kong. I had a single room and anyone familiar with Hong Kong rooms would know its a comfortable size at best. However, the amenities provided are adequate but rooms are very clean and well kept. Couple are best in a double and I know that they have a room with a open terrac (I didnt see it) but worth checking to see if available. From the hotel, one can take the tram directly to Central - the tourist traps and beyond. Again its very convenient and costs next to nothing - 50 HK cents. For those going to Kowloon, the tram stops right in front of Central MTR Station. Food options are plentiful (local fare) in and around the hotel and as above, a short tram ride brings you to the heart of Hong Kong. There are is also a 24hour convenience store by the hotel so no worries about a midnight cravings. TIP: Best of all, there is a dimsum place right along the same street that opens from 3am in the morning. Loads of taxi drivers and locals head there for supper and definitely worth checking out. Foods good and reasonably priced. Overall, Mia Casa is recommended for those already or comfortably familiar with Hong Kong and willing to take a different route to accommodation choices. Try to stretch the budget a bit for a double room and you would be pleasantly surprised."

"Everything seems beyond our expectations especially the sea view, staff politeness, and foods at the TeaRoom. However, the room assigned to us was a modified twin-room to a so-called King bedroom which was different to what we had booked through Agoda, Upper Harbour View King Room. We found this way of arrangement made by hotel management without telling us beforehand (during our check-in moment was a bit annoying and inappropriate). We found out this (not the right room) during our search for the bedroom’s light switches and those switches unbelievably hiding behind our head pillows , which is a weird design for a normal set-up. So, we were not happy on this particular matter. "

"It was really a good hotel comparing to the next door hotel Ramada. I tried the room servise which was reasonably priced and good. good small fitness centre open for 24 H. very beautifull rooms with nice decoration and top notch Technology.the location is not that bad. I mean it in not in the center but you can take the tram which is in front of the hotel or a taxi which is really cheap around (30 to 40 HKD) to the centre of Hong Kong Island. all of that for about 50 Euro / night. I would be happy to stay again in this hotel."

"The hotel is located in the Cyberport area of Hong Kong Island, which is rather quiet and very ideal for a getaway. They have a free shuttle service to Hong Kong station which takes around 15-20 minutes, and from there, transport to every part of Hong Kong is available through the MTR/Airport Express. The staff was very friendly and helpful, going out of their way to enquire about my plans and recommending art events to take a look if I had the time. Room service was prompt and very helpful. The room was very spacious and well lit, which is a luxury in Hong Kong where most hotels have rather cramped rooms. The floor was a little creaky but other than that, the room, hotel and staff service were excellent."

"the traders lounge on 28/f has a good harbour view of the victoria harbour. we enjoyed the afternoon tea served during 5:30-7:30pm and complimentary beverages till 11pm. it is worth paying for the upgrade which also includes free breakfast for 2 adults. hotel is located at sai wan along queens road west. there is a tram nearby hotel which brings you on a scenic tour of the hong kong island and also to the nearest mtr sheung wan station, a few tram stations away from the hotel. recommended to go on a hong kong tram ride if you haven't. day and night views aboard the hong kong tram give you different insights of the busy, face paced life in hong kong. there is a pacific mall, clinic, "one congee" restaurant which serves good congee and noodles, 2 supermarkets within 1-2 mins walk from the hotel. ask the concierge for directions to the tram station and nearby amenities mentioned. room is a good size by hong kong's standard. it could accommodate a queen bed and an additional rollaway bed. overall, we enjoyed our 2 nights' stay at the traders club harbour view room, especially the club lounge benefits. "If you have a few days to spend in Hong Kong, make this your base! The view to the harbour is truly stunning and their 10 times daily shuttle bus from Kennedy Town MTR makes it reasonably accessible (unless you want to stay out past 10pm, as the last two shuttles are at 22.15 and 22.45). A taxi back from Kennedy Town after midnight will cost you around $80. The last MTR from Central / Admiralty /Wan Chai departs around 1245. An UBER taxi from Central after 1am will be around $120"

More about Hong Kong Island West

Hong Kong Island West is the most traditional neighborhood in the Special Autonomous Zone. It’s also one of the oldest parts of Hong Kong, with several ancient temples and traditional markets. Hotels in Hong Kong Island West are removed from the buzz of the Central area to the east.

This is a fascinating place to be based, especially for anyone curious about the everyday lives of residents on the island. Shops and curios on Dried Seafood Street carry mainly Chinese products, including medicinal herbs, dried foods and ginseng. It’s a fun place for foreign tourists to get out and explore.

For tourists, Hollywood Road antique street is one of the most interesting places to shop. Beyond antiques, this road also has Man Mo Temple, the oldest in Hong Kong. It was built in 1847 and is maintained by the organization that operates Fung Yiu King Hospital, located far to the west alongside the Duchess of Kent Children’s Hospital.

Hong Kong Island West is also a good place to organize daytrips to Aberdeen in the south of the island. Aberdeen is known for its water-based society, including houseboats and a popular floating restaurant. This area is also known for it amusement park and aquarium.

There is a limited selection of accommodation in Hong Kong Island West, most of which is scattered along the north coast. Ferries and the MTR connect from the mainland, while a tram serves the island.
