Good”
Hong Thai is a small-scale hotel in the older area of Macau. Location is +++, walking distance to Senado Square (5-8mins) and the Ruins of St Paul (10-15mins). It was easy looking for food w/ local restaurants few blocks away and a night market right across the hotel. We even spotted a Michelin-starred restaurant by accident. There are different bus stops 1 minute away from the hotel going to the main tourist spots (e.g. casinos, Macau Tower, Taipa), ferry terminal and airport. The hotel provided basic necessities – comfortable bed & pillows, towels, toiletries. FYI, no ref, minibar, bottled water, hair dryer, etc. Customer service (housekeeping, reception) is below satisfactory. Staff seemed to be too "at home" at the place – sometimes not wearing uniform, with towel in the hair, loud chit-chats etc. With its very low price compared to other hotels, this place is comfortable enough. If you're looking for a decent yet affordable place, then this place is highly recommended.

Dirty ac air l, had mold so the room had to be aired out. Otherwise location was ok nothing compared to the more newer hotels nearby when you're on a tight budget traveling.

major construction... Wait till 2015 ”
Shower, one built in International Adapter, clean!
The Hotel was under construction so noisy in the day if you sleep late and no elevator so walk to 5th floor through the dusty musty stairwells. The room was clean, excellent use of space for the double bed, small desk, clothing organizer and bathroom. The front desk staff were friendly and other than that, we didnt interact or stay at the hotel longer. Was not sure if the spa facilities were available or under construction. From the airport, we took a bus(26A) and got off in front of the Sofitel and Pier 16 and then crossed over the little roads until we found it. There is no large english sign so be sure you get a good look at the pictures online. The area is really cool though with good varied food in the area and its a 10min quick walk to the portuguese Square and the Ruins of St Paul.

NOT VALUE FOR MONEY”
Great Location
IT WAS JUST OK. NOTHING GREAT.I WILL NOT RECOMMEND THE HOTEL TO ANYONE.ITS NOT MAINTAINED AT ALL AND THE HOTEL RATES ARE HIGHER.IT SEEMS LIKE THE OWNER OF THE HOTEL IS ONLY TRYING TO SAVE MONEY AND NOT MAINTAIN THE HOTEL.THE LOBBY AND THE RESTAURANT LOOK INVITING BUT THE REST IS ALL BAD.THE HOTEL STILL HAS THE 80'S DESIGNS AND NO FACELIFT OF THE HOTEL IS DONE NEITHER MAINTAINED.

Quaint and clean hotel offering value for money”
The hotel is clean and room is reasonably spacious. No fuss service and it has a restaurant in the ground floor that's pretty decent.
We got lost going to the hotel and had a difficult time getting directions from the ferry port. But once we found where it is, it was all good. The room was spacious and clean. It had hot and cold water and they even have extra toiletries for guests. It's a 7-10 min walk to Senado square and it is quite near restaurants and the egg tart shop. Once you get directions on how to get there it is accessible.

good location but not very clear”
suitable space
the hotel is located in the centre of city, nearby many attractions, not far from Lisboa casino. the room is not very small, it has enough space to live and move, better than many hotel at HK. but I don't think the hotel is clear, seems like not cleanning diligent, and the service is also not very warm/nice....

good location, bit of odd design good value”
in the old town so you can walk to everything in well lit, busy streets.
it was a bit chilly - a very cold day and no way of heating the room that we could see. the staff are brisk but do the job. you have to pay a deposit which you get back - i'd read this so luckily it wasn't a surprise.

Strategic Location”
convenience
The hotel room is quite ok. I think the selling point for the hotel is the location, it's very strategic, in town, walking distance to Ruins of St. Paul, macau museum, New Yaohan shopping center,Margaret's Cafe e Nata Restaurant and etc. If you willing to walk a bit far, around 15-20 minutes, you can reach Lisboa Casino. There are many good restaurants and shops around that area. It's near Ponte 16 Casino, if you are the customers of the casino, you can take their free buses.
