location is so good but not clean
Not a big deal but still need to mention it”
This is my second time for this branch, it is a bit hard to reach staff this time since early morning we've been out and back after 6pm.The business hour around 11am-6pm only. For self check in is really helping us since we're arriving after business hour. Please always update new password for ground floor (common use) since the number on memo is totally different with the current password. There is always wifi problem, since we've trying many times and give up to use it.
The weather is very cold, the bath water is not hot and waits for a long time, the heating is very bad, the staff can only rely on SNS contact, I am sure that I am sick.
we left nightclub at 2am and went straight to the hotel. but the hotel was closed. we were not informed closing time schedule. so we did not have chance to use the service.
room were cramped”
i stayed in a room with 3 double decker beds. limited space to move around, if you're big you may have some problems. toilets are cleaned everyday, just that the waiting time will be long during peak timings. location wise, it might be a little difficult to find as here are no obvious signage- beside GS25.. near to hongdae district and there are many restaurants around.. near to hongik university station (green line) overall stay was decent
The bathroom was not up to snuff but not filthy. The bed was ok, the room wasn't the one I was supposed to be in either but it was fine. For a night, Its cheep and in a good location. I probably wouldn't stay there for comfort or fun as there isn't any common area either but for a night or 2 it's safe, fairly clean and accessible.
It's located in the back of a dead-end street/corner, so be careful not to miss it out. There are 2 floors in the house. The doors are locked with codes so it's safe, and even the doors of the dorms have codes. The toilet is a narrow, you have to turn sideways when you are on the toilet. There's a shower. The beds have curtains to hide from the others. The staff is nice. However, there was one big problem: my dorm where I slept in was soooo hot it was really uncomfortable to sleep. I don't know why it was so hot but all the other guesthouses I've been in didn't have this problem.
Great place to spend less money on hostel”
I rend a dorm with 6 bunk bed and share it with other 4 travellers. The facilities is basic but worth it. The place is quite near with metro and cafes or shops so you can enjoy it in the boring cold night. The staff are superb!! they work efficient and so much helpful. One night I felt so cold in my room and thought the heater was off. Then I send message to the staff living below floor to ask them if the heater was off? And then about 15 mins. they are coming to our room to tell that heater is on but maybe take time to make the room warmer. I just appreciate what they do. Good job for them!
This one is located quite near to the subway and easy to find. Everything seems so nice but I was disappointed to the staff. I think they are quite young to manage this place so they could not communicate with me so well. But if you do not worry about this, staying at this place is quite okay
Great location, very near to subway. Hongdae very happening during night & you can explore around by walking. 1st day when I arrived the bathroom was too dirty but on 2nd day there's ahjumma came to clean the bathroom. There's no locker but i'm fine with it. Dorm secured with code door but the male staff came inside whenever they like. They didn't change the bedsheet. So far im enyoing my stay at this guesthouse.
Great Place for staying”
I open visit seoul for short time. This time i found Housetay. Housetay was just near Subway station(2min by walk). And i guess they reopened new guesthouse. So i was clean enough. I am sure i will stay again. By the way, Thanks you for help me to buy Bigbang ticket. See you soon
Very good location for this price, not really full facilities but acceptable, nice place for backpackers.
Location good staff friendly everthings perfect ”
Good location Good staff
My best choice in Seoul ever.”
The location was so perfect. And there was quite cozy and clean in the room. There were also bedside lamp on the bed, and the mattress was soooo comfortable.
This hostel, by far, is the filthiest and the worst I've ever stayed at. This, coming from someone who has stayed at some hostels that appear questionable. When I arrived at the hostel, I immediately saw the outside luggage storage that was filled with garbage (like a construction dumpster) and was immediately turned off. But seeing my room was the cherry on top. I was assigned a bed number but the beds were not all labeled and caused confusion. My bed had garbage on it, which meant it was not cleaned. The floor was also filthy and had so, so much garbage and wires that it was super dangerous to even walk on. The bed, pillow, and sheets felt really nasty and I was itchy the entire night—I even had a bed beg crawl up on my phone! The curtains were raggedy and weren't long enough for any privacy. To make things worse, my room had a group of girls who were together and they were making A LOT of noise at 1 AM! $15 USD for a night is expensive for this craphole. Every little thing was cheapened to the max. Check-in was self-serve but they will charge you 1,000 won for every 10 MINUTES you overstay. The only thing going for this place is the location and its proximity to Hongik University Station. Spend the little extra for a much better hostel.
You got what you’ve paid”
The place is situated in a small alley which is not easy to find. You gotta go to the basement where the door isn’t locked. Then you’ll find a notice left by the guesthouse. You gotta add his KakaoTalk to contact cuz there’s no one there. (It’s a little bit confusing when you arrived but they reply quickly.) Then you’ll get the pin and room number. The water in the bathroom isn’t warm enough and also the room on 1 floor doesn’t provide the heat. However, the bed is comfortable enough to have a good sleep.
1 toilet for 15 people”
The way to the house was really dirty and smells like garbage. The room was small and the floor was dusty. It's written in the site that there will be towel, but they don't provide any. The wall was so thin, so I could hear whatever the guests next door were talking about. There is only 1 toilet for 4 rooms to share, that could fit 15 people. The only good thing was when I complained about the towel and they gave me one. It's cheap, but there are lots of other places with not much price different that offer better quality.
Really near the center but less privacy, untidy room, & no one to call at night in case of emergency”
It was not our 1st time in seoul..We chose the place mainly because of its location and we weren't disappointed on that part. However, we noticed that though someone comes to clean the place daily, the room was cleaned properly. The bedsheets didn't feel and smell clean and it was dusty under the bed. We were surprised to see dirty clothes that wasn't ours under the bed, which made us wonder if someone really cleaned our room before we came. So we also thought it was unreasonable to impose the strict checkout time policy just because the person who CLEANS the rooms starts cleaning at the exact time, since for us she DOESN'T really clean well. Also, no admin stays at night so if there's some trouble, you have no one to call, just like when the heater didn't seem to be working and other guests were bothering our sleep. It was impossible to ask for assistance at night. Moreover, the room divisions were so weak that we could even hear the guest next door talking and snoring.
You get what you pay”
Book double room, given bunk bed room. Asked to change to double, they just say not available. No toiletries provided, not even toothpaste. Only consider it if you need to rush to the airport early in the morning.
