    service at Hong Zhu Shan”

Quiet and within walking distance to Street market

Hotel room is pretty spacious but light is too dim. Foot massage is pricy about 128 RMB for an hour and they ask for tips. We paid 300 RMB for 2 persons (including tips of 20 RMB and should expect a change of 24 RMB) and the service lady disappers and did not want to return the change. we have to ask couple of times before she returned with the change. It is bad service.

    Perfect environment ”

    Good rest place

i bring my friends from usa and stay in hong zhu shan for a good rest. since it is in off season time, we enjoy the quietness and peaceful environment of the hotel. the number 6 building is in old style and looks old but the price is good. we did not have their breakfast in the number 5 building which is rmb 48 per person. in stead we went to the street and ate there about 10 per person. it is a good choice in this hotel.

Not ideal location wtih few minutes walk to room”

    Steamboat buffet variety

It is absolutely unclear when booking that a deluxe room means getting a 3-star standard room even though the hotel is rated 5-star. We booked 2 deluxe rooms and was told that they are in another building, 5 mins walk, upon check-in. We specified non-smoking rooms but the corridors in the building are filled with smoke. The beds were very hard too. The hot spring is in another building, another 5 mins walk away, so we did not use it because of the wintery conditions.

Quiet room for relax , no drink water n hot shower”

Quiet and relaxing, with walking area and lake

The hotel made some mis-spelling on my name, and the frontdesk officer just kept on saying I did not have reservation until I become assertive and ask the more experienced staff to check. Overall my stay is quite relaxing in the hotel, they had vast area to explore, and can have walking by the lake experience. Hotel need to add more service e.g. Complimentary Mineral water and also we experienced uncertainty on the hot water maintenance hour. My spouse was having shower on 9am and suddenly the hot water just stop without announcement of maintenance.

Building 6 - an older building”

    Walkable distance to town

both of rooms are booked in building 6. at check-in, i have learned that only building 5 (the main lobby building) is star rated. building 6 has no elevator and it was a hike to get to my fourth floor rooms with luggage. both of my rooms have trickling showers and problem with water drainage. if you choose this hotel, building 5 is definitely preferable.

    Truly beautiful place”

located in pure nature but 10 minutes from what you need

Hotel is as close to an eco hotel as you will get in China. Located in a beautiful nature area with walks around a lake. Hotel rooms are ok for what you pay - you can't expect suites etc. But spa centre is pricey so if you go be prepared to spend a couple of hours in pool AND hot springs to get your money's worth.

perfect escape from day to day life”

    the natural environment

actually extended out stay by one night. the location is perfect in world heritage area of emeishan. hotel is in its own part of the forest with lake etc. this is second time i have stayed here. no need to pay for expensive room - building no 6 is fine for the price you pay. you won't be in your room much so why pay three or four times the price. there are good cheap sichuan restaurants 10 minte walk form hotel. previous time had breakfast which was quite good by chinese standards.

    So-so Stay”

The eight hotel buildings surround a gorgeous lake and forest.
The standard room is definitely NOT anywhere close to 5* like the hotel says it is. Location is a bit removed from town--not a problem if you mind a 10-15 minute walk, but something to be aware of. Overpriced food.

The hotel was good considering the location near Mt. Emei. There isn't much in the town. It looks fantastic driving up and the lake that the eight buildings surround is absolutely gorgeous. If we had an upgraded room, perhaps my review would have been different. As it was, the standard level room was only so-so...probably the equivalent of a Holiday Inn in the US. It was clean and basic. The restaurant in the hotel was overpriced. We went into town to look at restaurants--beware of the extemely fresh food there. We had someone throw a fish on the ground next to us in order to kill it and that was the end of our eating in that area. We love local food, but not knowing it and watching it die. That said, if it doesn't bother you, there is good eating in town for a fraction of a fraction of the hotel pricing. I'd stay again if I returned to the area, but keep expectations in check. Five star is not USA five star if you book the standard room. Also, beware: the standard room building we were in didn't have an elevator. Something to know in case you have a lot of luggage and/or problems with stairs.

    A Visit to EmeiShan”

    - Location - right at the base of EmeiShan
    - Slight walk to get to town (~10 minutes)

To be honest our family spent very little time at the hotel and did not take advantage of the pool or hot springs so I can't speak to those. This hotel definitely caters to upper class Chinese families who want to visit EmeiShan. It is in a good location at the base of the mountain and the staff was very helpful with everything we needed. The rooms were ok but a bit outdated and due to the amount of rain in this region the smell of mold was constant. After arriving we found a hostel which was much newer, cleaner, and about 1/5th the price of our room so we were a little dissappointed.
