“Exceptional”
Staying at Hoshi felt like stepping into a place where time has real weight. With its 1,300-year history, you genuinely sense the depth and continuity in the atmosphere, architecture, and service rhythm. We booked a premium room, and it was superb—impeccably clean, elegant, and spacious, with refined details that quietly showcase tradition and craftsmanship. The overall aesthetic is classic rather than flashy, and it works. Dinner and breakfast were excellent: thoughtfully prepared, seasonal, and beautifully presented. One operational miss: we emailed the hotel a week in advance to confirm the shuttle pickup, but never received a reply. As a result, we ordered an Uber—and the Uber arrived at the exact same time as the hotel shuttle, creating unnecessary confusion. That said, I would return without hesitation. It was one of the most charming garden-and-onsen experiences I’ve had, and I slept better there than I have in a long time—truly one of a kind.
