Great hostel with good position.
Staff is great, they will explain you everything about Barcelona. Rooms are small but clean, bathroom is very small but well organized. Towels are changed every day. Rooms are cleared everyday too... Breakfast is ok. It's a little bit loud if you open the window. Hostel and street is smelling on weed all day long..

Location, Location, Location!
With Hotel Barcelona it's all about Location. Fall out of bed into the hub of Barcelona City with its abundance and variety of restaurants, bars, entertainment and attractions. We walked everywhere, all the major attractions are either within walking distance or a short easy metro ride. We had our own en suite bathroom which in Barcelona City is rare. We had everything we needed. Every one of the staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful.

Average backpacker hostel with private rooms
decent price for high season, local food, 10 minute walk to subway.
It was high season, for a 7 day stay, had to change hotels 3 times. This hostel was the only place available at the time. Barcelona in high season has very high hotel rates and the city is packed with tours and sight seeing visitors. It is fun, but best to make reservations ahead of time, I did not, so had to pay the price with moves and high cost. I would suggest doing your reservation at Agoda ahead of time, and by-pass the airport hotel service. They charge you 10 euros for little more than making a phone call to the hotel of your choice. Friendly, but unnecessary.

The worst hotel ever in the world .
Unfreindly , poor , dirty
First of all the staff is really racist , when they c that u made reservation they start to tell u that u don't have reservation , 2ly the man where i was checking out was that rude that i was going to call the police for him or hit him, they r the most rude errogant and dirty workers ever. Rooms are not clean and too small to even put your bag. Its the worst hotel i v ever been too and please don't go.

Hurts to write a non-pleasant review
The more mature man that works at the fron desk, internet and getting out of there!
Unfortunately, I did not spend the three nights that I had booked at this hotel. I relocated due to a few issues. It is unfortunate in the sense that the older man who works at check in was superb, friendly and very welcoming. We arrived at 10:30pm after a long day of travel. After being shown to our room, we attempted to sleep. The noise from the street outside is loud but the main issue was other guests continually slamming their door. The walls are paper thin so you hear every sound (including the person urinating in the room next to you as the toilet must back on to the head rest of the bed) and the constant slamming kept us awake. After asking the guests on the second level to be respectful of others, the slamming of doors continued. I then went to reception and spoke to another staff member asking if we could relocate to another room. Sadly, this employee was very unhelpful despite rooms being available elsewhere in the hotel, he would not relocate us. At 1:50am I then started to look for other accommodation. We checked out a few hours later and the older man had started his shift. He was very apologetic and a real gentleman. He offered to relocate us but due to booking and paying for other accommodation, we left. I have no doubt that had this man been working when I approached the desk to raise my annoyance, the situation would have been resolved there and then as his customer service is far superior to his younger colleague.

Great budget hotel, close to metro
Location, price, cleanliness
Great budget hotel and great staff. Very easy to get to by public transport. Close to La Ramblas which is THE street to visit in Barcelona. Not too far from beach.

Lovely staff, good value & has a lift!
IT was close to the metro and only one stop from the Ramblas, had lovely polite, kind and helpful staff and there is a lift.
Hostal Barcelona is in a great location, really close to Parrallel Metro station, only one or two stops from the Ramblas (depending which part you want to get off at) & also easily accessible for taxis to the airport. When I arrived there was a lovely elderly gentleman at the reception who was warm, friendly, polite and helpful. (all the staff spoke excellent English.) The reception is manned 24 hours a day, so there`s no problem checking out at ungodly hours for early or late flights. They were happy to arrange a taxi for me at 6am nd it arrived promptly. The room was small and the bathroom tiny, but it had everything I needed (including WiFi access in the room)and was clean, smelled nice and was good value for money. The area the hostal is obviously a theatre and burlesque/strip club area. There is an interesting looking Burlesque club on the corner of the street. I wish I had have known about this area before, as I would have liked to go and see a show there if I had more time. Overall I was favourably impressed with the place and I`d definitely recommend it for an overnight or short stay. The fact that it has a lift is a huge bonus if, like me, you brought too much luggage!

The hotel is close to subway and the main tourist strip
Beware of pickpocketing around subway and crowded areas in Barcelona. We lost a phone when using the subway and every time we walked pass the local police stations, there were always a few tourists inside lodging their reports of properties being stolen.

Simple room, close to a metro station
Convenient
i chose this hotel because it was cheap and conveniently located; two metro stations from plaza de espanya, where the airport bus stops. the room is simple with a bed and a bathroom with a bus tub. no wifi in the room. paid internet was available in the lobby. the hotel didn't keep my suitcase after checking out but ,instead, they had a big coin locker for suitcase for 1 euro, which was okay for me becase the room was not very expensive. the hotel staff was nice but it took them to know that i paid through agoda though i showed the vaucher so i recommend bringing the vaucher with you and tell them you had paid through agoda though they say your credit card was not charged for booking.
