Nice hostel”
I stayed in the dormitories for 3 nights, the capsule is really big and comfortable, everything is clean and the staff is really friendly and kind. Is really near to train station and if you don't mind walking you can even get to Ueno park, cementery and a nice shrine. The only thing might be that is hard to find cause it looks like a normal house, it just has a little board on the door that says Hostel Azalea.
best price, basic facilities”
Best price, I believe this is the cheapest hostel in Tokyo city centre. Wonderdul location if you carry the JR pass. Located on the outskirt of metro system. Room is relatively clean. It really depends on the people whom you share the room with. I think I got lucky and stayed in the dorm room on first floor, separated from the main building. The guys sharing the same room were always quiet. They don't really have an reception. The checkin was pretty confusing. The staff stays in one of the private rooms, it's on the 2nd floor in the main building. You knock on his door and wait for him to come out and show you the bed that you will be staying in. Tiny "common area". They have a small fridge and microwave oven for guests. Considering the price per night, can't complain.
I really liked staying here. Everything was good but the location. I like more busy places. ”
I liked the cleanliness of the place. I'm pretty sure on this date 20/8/16 that it still is brand new. Everything is updated and modern from the restroom to your capsule. Your capsule is so spacious! Guests and employees are friendly and polite. I just like a hostel with a busy city surrounding it. Around the hostel, if it was around midnight, you'd see virtually no one on the streets. I didn't like that so I moved to Asakusa. This place is great overall.
Excellent Comfortable Clean Space”
The only minor blip was that there was at times nobody at the front dest to manage check ins, so guests were left waiting...but things would always unfold smoothly and the hostel is a beautiful place to live on the hole
As basic as it gets, but well located”
The location is good, near a JR and Tokyo metro station, as well as plenty of good restaurants and grocery stores that are open late. There is also a small park up the hill where you can enjoy your bento box. However, this is little more than a row of bunk beds, two showers, and a bathroom. The owner is only there to check in new guests, and is available via e-mail if you have questions. Otherwise there is no front desk service. Also, there are no lockers or even a lock on the front door, which might be fine since Japan is pretty safe, but can be a bit unsettling if you're not from a place such low crime.
Budget Hostel in Tokyo !”
Location is at Komagome area, is very local area, but is ok has many eateries and shops which can easily get all the necessities. Just 3 minute walk from JR Komagome station to hostel but is a bit far from metro station. Is a bit far from all the POI of tokyo like shinjuku, shibuya, asakusa and ginza. Is just a place to sleep, shower and toilet and not much facilities provided. I stay in bunk bed, the area is very small near to toilet and bathroom, very hesitate to go bathroom, toilet and wash basin during early morning and late night as one day i get back late and shower and i receive a complain from other guest. The receptionist only work in limited from 10am to 10pm. They are quite helpful with tips travel and answer any queries. I cannot complain much because the price per night is quite cheap as it attracts a lot of foreigner and even japanese as well but is a good place to sleep, shower and toilet and do not expect much.
You get what you pay for”
The hostel has very basic amenities. It is very near the JR train station. Close to restaurants, convenience stores and ATM. It is a very cheap hostel so you just get what you pay for. Don't expect too much.
Dishonest owner and poor staff!”
When I made my booking, I was told that I was booking a private room on the website. When I got to the hostel, there was no staff to be seen, and there were two other groups looking for staff to check in. We had to wait half an hour for the owner to show up. After waiting for another ten minutes as the owner tries to figure out what is supposed to happen, he tells me that I have a room in a mixed dorm, even though the website clearly stated the booking was a private room, which is really dishonest. The owner told me that there were no more private rooms and we had to take the dorm, which was a repurposed garage. That night, I met the other guests in the dorm, and they were all angry because they were also told it was a private room when they booked and also had to wait for a long time for the owner to check them in. I do not recommend staying at this hostel.
Perfect Hostel ”
For the air circulation , it’s better to keeping one window half open for bed area . Not knowing how to breath well without windows opened .
Nice hostel”
Comfy big bunks, very private, 2mins from train station can get to shinjuku in 15 mins , great staff
fair price for single traveller”
main door is slightly broken, but no problem to close it. The staff left the front sometimes, but kind. the bed is well cleaned.
Clean and strategic location”
Clean and near to subway.
Greatest hostel around at theCentral line ”
It’s great and convenient
Reasonable price”
not bad to stay here fairly but small lounge.
Budget travel”
Good for those on a tight budget. There are no staff to welcome you if you come in early but you can leave your things at the front desk. I suggest you just come in during the check in time.
