amazing staff and clean room ”
the staff here is amazing! the owner ika welcomed me in when i just arrived, showed me the fruit tree 10 meters away from the hostel, and even took me with her to buy fruits the next day! during my stay i felt so well-taken care of. the room is clean, the hostel has nice facilities, good location.

Hostel Bogor was a perfect beginning to my trip in Indonesia. Ika, my host was very welcoming and kind. It was my first time traveling to Asia and being a solo female traveler I felt nervous. However, Ika made me feel welcome and safe. She gave me tons of information on where to go. She even arranged a cooking experience with herself and the two other girls working there. I learnt how to make peanut sauce the traditional Javanese way! They always made sure I was well fed and happy. The hostel is just like a small home, water, coffee and tea is always available. If you are ever hungry, there is always someone on hand to feed you (traditional dishes of nasi goreng, or raw vegetables with peanut sauce - the best!) Fruits typical of the area are offered as well. The hostel is located in the middle of a local residents so you get a real feel for Javanese life. If you are visiting Bogor, this is the place to stay! Ika is like a second mum from home. Thank you Hostel Bogor!

Truly wonderful service”
We had an amazing stay at Hostel Bogor for two nights. Their English is very good and the service is truly wonderful, after you have booked they give you good information of how to get to the hostel from Jakarta Airport. The breakfast service is really great and the food is lovely too. They also have maps of the city with all the important landmarks, sightseeings and information in it. After the busy city we also stayed two nights in an appartment owned by the hostel (it’s their B&B) The two floor luxury appartment with garden is located on the outskirts of Bogor, here it is really lush and green, with clear weather the view of the local volcano is pretty sweet. For what you get it is quite cheap as well. I can’t pressure enough how well their service is, the hostess drove us to and from the Hostel to their B&B, booked train tickets for us to Yogjakarta on their credit-card (we did pay ourselves offcourse) and even dropped us off on the train to Yogjakarta at 06:00am! Best lodging in Bogor, hands down”
Hostel Bogor is by far, hands down, the best lodging that you can find in Bogor. It's just a 10 minute walk from the immigration office. The owners, Ibu Ika and Bapak Agus were incredibly warm, welcoming, helpful, and friendly. They spoke fluent English and patiently let me practice Indonesian with them. They were like a second family and I was sad to leave. The most affordable lodging in Bogor (actually!), immaculately clean, private and secure rooms, and meals provided. They even brought us out into the country side to see a prehistoric site and have lunch with their family at a Sundanese village in Cianjur - one of the best experiences in Indo, hands down. Skip the hotel - 5 stars for Ibu Ika and Bapak Agus!!

Arrived at the hotel quite late and had a smooth check in. I was shown around the hostel and where the tea/coffee is to make hot drinks. Room was clean with a double bed and a small terrace area. There is a basic shower upstairs but that only had cold water, the bathroom downstairs has hot water, also a bath. The host was fantastic and speaks very good English. They have a booklet with all the things to do in Bogor and if you want to use the bus (angkot) then they tell you which one to get and how much to pay, this was very useful. When I stayed breakfast was sometimes egg fried rice with some watermelon, and you can make toast. Don't expect any eggs/bacon or that sort of thing, however, the breakfast was delicious. The hostel is about a 10/15 ride in the angkot or 30 minute walk from the town/botonical gardens. There are street vendors around the corner as well. I really enjoyed my stay and would recommend this hostel.

Hostel Bogor achieved what only few hostels can for me. The owner is very considerate, kind and helpful in every way making me feel at home though I am seperated so far from it. I’ve been at Hostel Bogor before and after Vipassana meditation for a few nights. It’s a perfect place to relax and Ika and Wida are such kind and caring people! Ika took me to the market and showed me how to make traditional GadoGado, Widas Nasi Goreng for breakfast is just amazing! I had my own room with a balcony and the whole hostel was perfectly cleaned all the time. This place is highly recommended!

I liked to stay at the Bogor Hostel. Very helpful the staff/family. Great place where to start a trip or to finish it especially if you just had a long flight. From the Jakarta airport very easy (for sure by day) to reach the location. Bogor is also a good location from where to start some less popular, but fantastic hikes!

We arrived at hostel in the midnight and the owner still there waiting for us. owner and staff very friendly and cater all things we need. breakfast is really delicious. location is in the residence neighborhood which very quiet. definitely will come back if i went to Bogor again next time.

I really enjoyed my experience at this place for 2 nights. The 2 hosts are lovely especially Ika. She did heaps to help me like giving me fruit acouple of times, a yummy soup one morning and also got my dirty clothes washed there for cheap only 20000. Also the main reason I stayed here was to book a tour and was not disappointed with the volcano tour you can organise here. It was amazing experience and made my trip to Bogor memorable! Only issue acouple of times hot water went off in shower. Good place to stay at good price. Own bedroom is a bonus as I don't like sharing rooms.

Best Hostel. Amazing Staff! ”
Ike the owner has went above and beyond to make our stay here wonderful. She has given us so much advice on how to get around, what to pay and has let us try so many different local foods. This is the best place we could have come to. We were nervous when we arrived in Indonesia as we didn't know the language or much about the culture. We now feel much more confident and have seen many amazing sights around Bogor thanks to Ike. Would highly recommend to all travellers. Weida was also so lovely! Her cooking was delicious and she was so helpful. We will forever remember how kind and wonderful they have both been.

Friendly and feeling like home”
Staying in this homestay is like home .. Ika & her husband are very friendly and helpful always trying to make travelers feeling comfortable and chatting with everybody giving a lot of information about Bogor and around ..It is a little bit away from the center but for me wasn't a problem at all .. taking mini green bus (angkot) #8 from the main road and you are in the center in less than 7 min ... PS. Damri bus from/to botani square to Jakarta airport teaveling every 30 min.. conclusion is highly recommended. . Travel safe

This house is so nice, and the people inside are even nicer! My partner and I got very very sick with food poisoning during our stay, and Ika and her husband were very nice and took care of us. They even let us stay an extra night when we couldn't make our bus the next day. The house is a bit away from the main part of town, but it's in a much more quiet and quaint area. Definitely worth the short bus ride or sort of long walk to get to. Ika is happy to cook any and all meals for you, and is a joy to talk to. Frankly, Bogor was a bit of a letdown for me. I'm not sure I'd recommend the city that much. The gardens were just okay. But if you are going to be in the neighborhood, you really need to stay here and meet one of the nicest families in all of Java!

We really enjoyed our time in this hostel. The hostess really helped us with finding our way around Bogor! She is very kind. We had a good indonesian breakfast. The accomodation is simple but clean and considering the price defenitely worth your money! It is a bit difficult for cab drivers to find but with Google maps you will be fine. We felt like sleeping with the locals, great experience.
