Great experience ”

After visiting more than ten similarly priced hostels in chiang Mai, here’s why I chose to extend my stay at Hostel by BED. Hostel by bed is clean, comfortable, and situated in a very convenient location inside the old city. All of the staff are incredible, and go out of their way to make sure that you’re comfortable. The entire place is constantly being cleaned and maintained. The bathrooms are nice, showers are outstanding, and the laundry machines are inexpensive. Management goes out if it’s way to reduce costs for its guests. For example, I accidentally damaged a bed sheet with ink, and was kindly told that I would only be charged the minimum amount if it was determined that the stain could not be removed with a deep wash. A wonderful free breakfast is served daily, and the chef always makes sure that the guests have eaten and are well taken care of. Water, tea, and high quality coffee are all free. Something I noticed about Hostel by BED, is that it has guests who enjoy

Great hostel ”

One of the best hostels we’ve stayed in. Very much a hybrid of a hostel and good hotel. Our private double room was spacious and very clean with a comfortable big bed, good shower and shower gel/shampoo toiletries. The hostel itself has a nice common area to hang out in, with free tea, coffee and water all day, the staff are also very helpful and speak good English. The only down sides were breakfast (basic - fruit and toast) and the location is tucked in the top corner of the old city, around a 30 minute walk from the main area, however there are some good options for food a few minutes away, the vegan cafe next door in particular we loved. Chiang Mai has some great accommodation options but we’d definitely return here.

A great stay which I’ll definitely recommend”

I stayed for two nights in The Common hostel & below is my stay experience- - The Room: Well it was clean & perfect for us. The room have all the necessary amenities needed for comfortable stay. The bathroom was super clean & well maintained. - The Location: It’s located very close to the heart of city and being on the main road everything is accessible from the place. - Amenities: The hostel provides amenities like common sitting area, laundry services, shared kitchen, etc. which was again very helpful. - Breakfast: The hostel provides complimentary breakfast which is very fresh & tasty. The spread is very good and they change it on daily basis. I enjoyed every bit of it. - Staff- Though the staff was good, but based on my stay experience with other hostel, I’ll rate them below average. I felt they won’t go extra mile unlike other hostel. So all in all it was a great stay which I’ll definitely recommend.

Clean hostel with great location”

The Hostel is in great location, in the old town near many interesting places, which in walking distance. Room is great, bed is comfy and clean. Air conditioner was working well. Also there are plenty of shared bathroom to use. They are all clean, although one may feel too small, but I can take a bath without any problem. Breakfast is simple but sufficient with boiled egg, sausage, salad, bread with fresh brewed coffee. Also drinking water is available for free all day in the lobby. Staff is great and service minded. I would recommend this hostel for anyone visiting Chiang Mai. You will be surely satisfied with it. PS. Fern Forest cafe' next to the hostel is worth a try.

A new and cozy hostel with amazing staff...”

This is my first time in this new hostel and I would say it has been a great experience staying here. The perfect location inside the old city in Chiang Mai and a walking distance to the famous Khao Soi Khun Yai. This hostel is clean, the free internet connection is fast, and the food's good. Like what I said to their staff, I will definitely be staying back here whenever I'm in Chiang Mai. Highly recommended hostel.

Great hostel!”

Probably the best hostel I’ve stayed at. The location is very good—walking distance to different key sites like Wat Pra Singh and Chedi Luang, Tha Phae Gate. It’s also close to several recommended must try restaurants/eateries—Cowboy lady, Khao Soi Khun yai, and SP chicken. The bed is bigger than single so there’s a bit of room to move around. The locker for your backpack is also inside your pod. You have 2 electric sockets to charge your gadgets and 2 options for lighting. I availed of the free breakfast and it was decent and filling. While it is a self-service hostel, it didn’t feel like one. Will definitely stay here again when i am in chiang mai!

The best hostel I've stayed.”

Stayed here for 7 days. Great reception and helpful and lovely staffs with smile. [BREAKFAST] A variety of breakfast such as buns, toasts with jams, boiled eggs, and salad every single day, if lucky on early morning (first come first serve), sort of Thai food and snacks can be tasted. Self-served 24-hour coffee machine, tea pots and bottled water. [ROOM] Stayed at mixed dorm with 10 beds. Every bed has its own lockers inside (no. 9 and 10 on the aisle). Definitely protect your privacy as curtain covering your sleep. Air-conditioner runs when travelers in the dorm. Comfortable bed, pillow and quilt. [SHOWER ROOM] Enough hot water and clean shower room. Provide with Q-tips and hair dryers. Low cost but extremely high quality. Definitly recommand staying at HOSTEL BY BED in Chiang Mai.

THE BEST HOSTEL IN CHIANG MAI”

What I like about this hostel are the following: big and comfortable beds with enough storage for important stuff. The breakfast is the best! Love that they serve rice with local thai food to partner with rice aside from the continental breakfast which includes the best bread pudding! I love that they have a very comfortable lounge area and also big kitchen. The comfort room is spacious and clean and they have hair dryer inside. Best part is they have laundry service for only 20baht! The staff are amazing, super helpful and nice! They helped us book our tours and even our taxis. They are very approachable and always smiling. The atmosphere is very calming and felt instantly at home! I would to stay here again when I come to Chiang Mai!

Convent location & new, clean, comfortable environment”

Top notch unbeatable hostel. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Dorm rooms and beds are clean and spacious with 2 ACs and if you pay a small deposit, you can use a large locker that can store a large luggage case. Breakfast has plenty of variety, even serve fresh pineapples and watermelons. There's also complimentary bottle water and drinks which comes very handy when you're travelling in the hot weather in Thailand. One downside is if you are assigned a room facing the front main street, it could be a bit noisy from the traffic but this is the trade-off you have to live with if you want to stay in a convenient location. This place is unquestionably my top choice when travelling to Chiang Mai!

Excellent”

Great hostel inside the Old City. Pros: clean and new. Great and comfy beds. Huge lockers for each guest right inside the bed bunk. Wide and spacious rooms. Has a laundry/ drying machine so it's really convenient to do laundry. Good breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff. Can help you book trips. Cons: only 1 bathroom/ shower area for females in the whole hostel. It was never crowded so crowd really wasn't the issue. It's just a hassle needing to go to 3rd floor to pee - esp. in the middle of the night. No trashbins inside the rooms. Stayed for 7 nights but beddings were never changed. This hostel is more for people who want to have a relaxed and laid back stay in CM. It's very quiet and guests are mindful of not disturbing others- so that's good. It is not a social hostel and you won't meet fellow travellers who actually want to meet other people as well. Still a great hotel and won't mind staying again.

Great location, nice staff, and super clean”

Normally, you don't expect much from a hostel, this one definitely gave you some surprise. The breakfast is simple but decent, you can get 3 kinds of bread, one dish to share with everyone, usually chicken with veggies, tomato and salad, as well as eggs, which is perfectly boiled, I'm not a fun for boiled egg, but here they are delicious! The room are super clean, and with all the things you gonna need (for girls, can't say for the boys tho), hairdryer, Q-tip and towel (with a deposit). Location is superb, too! It took 10 mins walk to Wat Phra Singh and Wat Chiang Man respectively. We didn't book anything from the hostel, but the staff are very nice, always smile and greet their customers. I did try to book a shooting activity from the hostel, but apparently the pamphlet I found inside the hostel is not "permitted" by the hostel. Very confusing... All in all, it was a great stay.

Could not be better but bring anti mosquitoes gel along.”

Everything was great except there are many mosquitoes at this time ( April) in Chiang Mai so remember to bring along anti mosquitoes gel. Breakfasts (BKF) were excellent. The hostel changes BKF everyday sometimes there are delicious traditional cakes. Cold water is free at reception. In Chiang Mai you can use Grab ( car or motorbike) service. It is very handy so do install grab app before your trip and buy a 3g sim upon arrival ( 5 USD for 8 days ) at the airport that would be perfect for your moving.

So lovely!”

We very much enjoyed our stay here for 4 nights. The people running the place were so sweet and very helpful. The location was an easy to walk to almost anywhere in old city. The breakfast was sufficient and the coffee and water on hand 24/7 was nice. The only negative thing I have to say is about the room. The bed sheets weren’t always very clean and the shower water kind of takes over the whole bathroom- which I realized was a pretty common theme in the hotels I stayed at in thailand. There’s no separation of shower and rest of the bathroom so whole bathroom floor collects about an inch of water when showering. I want to add that the people at the desk helped us book an elephant tour and called an airport cab for us. There’s some very affordable, nice western restaurants nearby if thai street food isn’t your thing.

We originally booked three nights and ended up staying a whole week. The location is great. Breakfast (very yummy!), water and Coffee all day are included in the price so you really get a lot of value for the money. We stayed in a queenbed dorm which was super clean and comfy. The Best Hostel EVER!!! ”

Greater than usual hostel yet cheaper than a hotel. This hostel offers a lot of FREE...from speedy wifi, 24 hours coffee, snacks, breakfast and unlimited bottled water!!! Just perfect to bring along for your tour around Chiang Mai.The only hostel I've been that offers unlimited bottled water on these huge glass fridge. You can even get as many as you want. I was just so amazed. Their place is very modern and every corner is instagramable. The beds are very comfy and has curtains, which could give you some privacy. And their bathrooms are spacious and provides alot of amenities. In fact the hostel is a good place to just relax and chill. The other great factor is that their staffs are very helpful and polite, from arranging your tours and getting you a cab. Such an excellent service!

Clean and Chic Looking Hostel”

The facilities were clean and the hostel looks very new and modern. They provide free water, coffee, and tea throughout the entire day and the beds are very comfortable. The only downsides are that if you live on the fourth floor, you will have to go down 1 or 2 stairs to reach the communal bathroom. Breakfast is also a little sparse, but otherwise I would definitely recommend this hostel to anyone visiting Chiang Mai!

This place is incredible. It is even better than hotels I stayed at before. The main lobby lounge area is super airy and chill. The front desk is very helpful, ordered a grab taxi for me for 100 baht to the airport. Breakfast in the morning is great with lots of different food and fresh fruits. Freeeeeee bottles of water but please try to refill from water cooler to avoid plastic waste. The room itself is clean with nice beds and very good privacy screen. Men shared bathroom is located on 2nd floor. Very very clean. I would stay here every time I am in Chiang Mai.

Probably one of the best hostels in Chiang Mai”

We booked the double room ensuite and were very satisfied. The room was spacious and there is even a little outdoor balcony for smoking or for sunning of clothes. Bed was really comfy. The only problem we faced was a drainage issue in our bathroom. The drainage starts working only after 5 minutes of showering so the toilet gets flooded before that. No EN channels on TV, EN shows are dubbed over in Thai. Our room is also on the top floor - there is no lift. The hostel has a huge sitting area on the ground floor which is lovely. We also booked a scooter from the hostel to go around. But please take note to bring along your International Driving License as the police set up road-blocks regularly along the main roads. If we return to Chiang Mai, we will definitely stay here again.

Nice place in the old city”

My wife and I shared a queen sized bed in the dorm room for over a week and enjoyed our time at this hostel. We extended several times. That being said, there's some pros and cons: -The free breakfast is good, but only lasts until it's all eaten. -The mosquitos can be bad in the common areas because the neighboring building waters their fern garden 4-5 times a day, but the hostel does have fans everywhere which can help a lot. -The cleaning staff are always hard at work, but people wear shoes throughout the building, so being barefoot can be quite dirty. -Very friendly and helpful staff. -Free water and coffee all day. -AC in each room with comfy beds and nice curtains. -Awesome hangout areas and fantastic wifi.

Totally recommended”

Starting with the location the place is right in the Old Town, very close to Wat Phra Singh and other temples withing walking distance, you can get taxis from there to other top spots such as Doi Suthep. The hostel itself is a beautiful and spacious building, common area is great, they serve a breakfast there, simple but enough because is free, also free water and coffee all day, the bathrooms are split by sexes, is a bit inconvenient, there is a kitchen that you can use if you need to cook. The room was spacious, nice locker, light, power outlets and sturdy bed, also air conditioning. The only give towel with a refundable deposit if you don't have your own. There is a 7-Eleven very close and some street food stalls nearby for a quick bite. Cleaning staff should be a bit more engaging as some of them did not even reply when you tell them good morning, I understand that they probably don't speak English at all but should learn some basics at least, just a suggestion :)
