Great experience”
This is the first time I stayed at a hostel. Saw great reviews about this new hostel and decided to stay here for my first trip in Seoul. Overall I am very happy with the hostel and will be back to stay when I am in Seoul again. Given the price that you have paid for, it is definitely worth the price! Directions from Incheon: I took the airport express, changed to Line 1 at Seoul Station and alight at Jonggak. Once you arrive at Jonggak, you can opt to exit from Exit 8, 10 or 12. Choose Exit 12 if you have bulky luggage as there's an escalator (save the hassle of carrying your luggage up 2 flights of stairs). Once you are out from Exit 12, turn right and walk towards Starbucks. Turn left into the side lane and walk all the way to the end and Hostel Haru is on your right, before the convenience stall. If you choose to exit from Exit 10, turn right and you will see Starbucks and if you choose to exit from Exit 8, turn left and you will see Starbucks. Simply refer to above on how to get to Hostel Haru. Do not use the elevator as that leads to you to the other side of the road. Location: It is walking distance to Myeongdong, Insadong, the palaces and it is behind the Cheonggyecheon Stream! There's plenty of things to eat around the area and it is always very crowded in the evening (healthy crowd). Room: I booked a double room as I wanted a slightly bigger space. It comes with a double bed, a bunk bed and an attached bathroom. I used the double bed to put my items while I slept on the bunk bed. Breakfast: They do provide breakfast but I did not eat them. Thus can't comment on it. Wifi: I did not use it as I have my own. Others: Their reception is at Level 6. Thus you need to go there first before they bring you up to your room. Some minor inconvenience: - They don't provide bath towels, only have face towels. It could be my oversight that I did not realize it. - I stayed on Level 12 and the room closest to the door. It can be quite noisy at night when people get
Thanks MEI for your review and directions to our hostel! We do provide bath towels now for double room so don't worry if you choose double room, just come and use ours the next time!
Exceptional”
Location was pretty great - approximately 3-minute walk from Jonggak station exit 4 (line 1) and 8 minutes from Euljiro-1-ga station (line 2). You can also walk to the Myeong Dong area and it only takes about 10-15 minutes. The area has several eateries and mini marts nearby and so it feels quite safe, without being too noisy. Facilities are also new and clean, and I love the aesthetics of the place :) The price of Hostel Haru is a little higher than other hostels, but I do think it's worth it.
Thank you for stayed our hostel, and gave us a great review. We are glad to see that you enjoyed!! See you again when you visit Seoul, Thank you for coming, Thank you for reviewing.
Exceptional”
Hostel Haru is one of the best hostels I've stayed in! The location is just perfect - very near Myeongdong, Cheonggyecheon, and Insadong. Even if you don't feel like walking to Myeongdong, there are still plenty of shops nearby and there is also an underground shopping in Jonggak station. The room and facilities are clean and aesthetically pleasing; if you feel lazy to go out or if it's raining, it's ok to just stay in the room or lounge as these are comfortable and doesn't feel too cramped. The staff is professional and helpful. Staying at the dormitory was also a great way to meet other solo travelers or even locals who decided to stay overnight! I definitely will rebook in Hostel Haru if I go back to Seoul and will recommend this to my friends!
Thank you for stayed our hostel, and gave us a great review. We are glad to see that you enjoyed!! See you again when you visit Seoul, Thank you for coming, Thank you for reviewing.
THE BEST HOSTEL SO FAR IN KOREA!”
Me and my friend stayed in Hostel HARU on our first 4 days in Seoul. When we arrived there, we already fell in love with the hostel. The staff was really friendly - Shiro was really helpful! Terima kasih banyak! The area is perfect - 2mins walking from Jonggak St. Exit 4, 7mins walking from Euljiro 1-ga St. Exit 3, 10mins walking from Myeongdong. The view from the room was amazing!!! - I requested for a nice view room and they gave it to us. Cheonggyecheon Stream and city lights at night was unforgettable. The lounge area was lovely too. They let us keep our luggages for 4 nights in their locker (safety guaranteed!) during our trip to Jeju & Busan. We also very satisfied with other service & facilities. I would definitely want to stay here when I come back to Seoul. Thank you so much for your warmth hospitality!
Thank you for stayed our hostel, and gave us a great review. We are glad to see that you enjoyed!! See you again when you visit Seoul, Thank you for coming, Thank you for reviewing. "Terima kasih banyak!"
Extremely comfortable hostel”
Awesome location - truly 2 min walk to subway, walkable distance to myeong-dong and just a stone-throw away from the famous canal-turned-stream park. Eateries in its vicinity operates past midnight. You can expect a very happening (and healthy) crowd. There is also a convenient store, daiso, fast food restaurant and Starbucks in 3-min was radius. Hostel itself - super new (operation started in 2016 March), clean, very thoughtful room layout (one door leading to the dress-up area with basin, two doors separating the toilet and the shower room from the dress-up area. The rooms (both 4-in-1 and 6-in-1) are reasonably spacious. It can accommodate 2 large luggage open up on the floor or 3 girls doing make-up at the same time. Area for improvements - staff are friendly but not totally helpful. They do their job well but do not expect them to go to an extra mile. Room/bed was vacant (verified by asking existing roommate!!!) but the staff refused to allow early check-in despite vein approached for numerous time. Knowing that it was not due to practical reason but merely an act to follow by the book, it gave rise to frustration, especially to traveller who arrives early in the morning and wish for a power nap before leaving hostel for a day of adventure, or one who wishes to have a long day out without returning back by 11 (counter closes at 11 pm) to do checkin. After all, Seoul is a city with area which never sleeps (Dongdaemun).
Thank you for your review. The reason why we are unable to allow early check-in is because we have to do housekeeping and make it done before the check-in time or before guests come back to our hostel after their daily travelling schedule. We hope all guests can understand our stand to keep our hostel clean and neat for the comfort of all guests.
Perfect!!”
Hostel HARU is centrally and conveniently located by a subway station and within walking distance to shopping, places to eat and cultural sightseeing areas. I stayed in the shared female dormitory room, which was cozy, and spotlessly clean and new. I particularly liked the individual TV units (you can plug in your headphones to listen), you also get a bottle of water inside the refrigerator and 2 face towels replaced every morning. Breakfast is provided and was substantial. The staff and other guests I met were very nice. Highly recommended and would love to stay again if I'm ever back in Seoul.
Thank you Julie for your detailed review! We are glad that you enjoyed your stay here, please also recommend to other friends to come along with you next time! We hope to see you again soon!
Extended Stay”
You would find this as my second entry because I liked it so much I decided to cancel my switch to a different hotel on my other days in Seoul. Hostel Haru was so satisfying I didn’t feel the need to move, and it’s located conveniently to everything. Shopping in Myeongdong, food, temple/palace visits, proximity to tour packages departure point or duty free shopping at lotte. Everything was within reach plus the room was just perfect in every way. Compliments to the owner and staff for creating something quite the jewel.
We are glad to see that you enjoyed!! See you again when you visit Seoul, Thank you so much!
affordable, accessible location and friendly staff”
I stayed here for my first solo trip abroad. Hostel Haru is located in Jongno-gu in central Seoul. The area is very much alive during evenings. Restaurants of all kinds can be found in this area. If you're looking for some affordable or mid-priced meals and you don't want to venture far, better check the restaurants or eateries around. Some cultural and shopping areas are a 10 - 30 minute walk. You can walk to Gyeokbokgung palace compound, some museums, Myeongdong shopping center/street and Insadong. There are two subway stations nearby: Jonggak, a 5-minute walk and Euljiro 1-ga, a 10-minute walk. Amidst of the surrounding establishments, the area is not chaotic and the hostel is easy to locate. However, if you stay in the dormitory-typed room, expect some inconvenience on privacy. The bed may not also be huge enough for tall people. There are also no lockers in the dormitory-type room to stash stuff but for safekeeping valuables, guests can use their respective safe box. Wall hooks and hangers are sufficient to hang coats, towel or pants hence I didn't mind the absence of a locker. In terms of service, the hostel staff is amiable and accommodating. If you travel light, they will be providing you towels and toiletries daily. As a first-timer in Seoul, I didn't bother where to have my breakfast as it was included in my accommodation. I have no qualms with the hostel's cleanliness; our room was cleaned daily. Amidst a few inconveniences, I think the hostel was worth my money. Location wise, it is an accessible and safe place to stay for a week-long visit in Seoul.
Thank you Anna for your review! We have safe boxes in each room and if guests want to use lockers, they may use the lockers available at 12F. It is huge enough to fit a middle size luggage.
Loved this place! A+++!”
I love everything about this place! The pictures don't lie, it's as nice as it looks on the pictures! Very easy to find and it's very safe. I love how clean everything is. They prepare toiletries, towel and mineral water which is a nice touch to each guest. There's laundry room and kitchen where they provide bread loaf, rolls, butter, condiments (peanut butter, jelly), orange/apple juice, milk and eggs on the fridge. You can also do light cooking because they have pans, saucer, stove and microwave. There's water cooler in the kitchen and electric kettle in the room. The room is quite spacious. You have your own TV where you can hear the sound through a cable using your headset so you won't bother the other guest (but I had a problem with mine while I was there, there was no sound when I plugged my headset to the cable and although I had already told the front desk about it and she said they will fix it but later when I tried using it, it still didn't work). There's a mini fridge in the room where you can keep your drink chilled. There are so many restaurants near the hostel so you won't be starving! There's a convenience store right downstairs if you wanna buy some snack/drink/tissue/essentials. It's 1-minute walk from Jonggak station and 10-minute walk to Myeongdong and Gwanghwamun Square. Very convenient. They serve breakfast from 8 - 9.30 AM at 6th floor. If you wanna store your big luggage, you can do so at 12th floor where they have a locker. The staff was nice and helpful. All in all, I'm very impressed and very happy with Haru Hostel and I'd definitely stay here again and recommend this place to my friends and family!
Thank you for stayed our hostel, and gave us a great review. We are glad to see that you enjoyed!! See you again when you visit Seoul, Thank you for coming, Thank you for reviewing.
Convenient Location & Super Duper Friendly Staffs”
Location: Take Line 1 exit at Jonggak Station, take the exit no 4. Walk straight you will see a Starbucks, turn left into the small alley walk straight till the end road. You will see a convenience store called Ministop and the Hostel located at level 10. I wish to complement all the staffs in Hostel Haru who do provide extra mile by allowing me send my parcel to the Hostel few days prior my check in date. They been keep my stuff save and make me successful collected the concert tickets and able to enjoy the great show. Thumps up for Hostel Haru
Thank you for stayed our hostel, and gave us a great review. We are glad to see that you enjoyed!! See you again when you visit Seoul, Thank you for coming, Thank you for reviewing.
Comfortable (And Fairly New) Hostel with Superb Location”
Location - The location of Haru Hostel is definitely GREAT. It is SUPER near Cheongyecheon Stream (Literally across the road), Myeongdong and Lotte Duty Free (Walkable distance) and subway station (3minutes to Jonggak station). There are a number of convenient shops (7-Eleven, CU Mart, Olive Young), coffee shops (Starbucks, Paik's Coffee) and restaurants (Ramen and BBQ restaurants) nearby. Price - This might not be the cheapest option out there, but with the location and quality of hostel, definitely worth it!!! Cleanliness - As it is still a new hostel (opened on April16), everything is new and in good condition. The hostel looks just like the photos. Service - While the receptionist did smile during check-in and check-out, no comments on their friendliness and helpfulness as I only stayed for 1 night. Facilities - There is a in-house coffee shop located on the same floor with the reception, pantry area with water dispenser, fridge, bread toaster and cutleries, laundry services for long stay guests and photogenic lounge area with Mac for guests to use.
Wow! Thank you Jeng for your review! You wrote it like a detailed guide for places around our hostel! We are happy that you were not disappointed with our hostel and hopefully next time when you visit, we can serve you more! Do visit us again!
Great place for a solo traveler!”
I came to Seoul alone and stayed at Hostel Haru for 5 nights. The staff was welcoming, facilities were clean, and my roommates were very friendly! Any issues that came up within our room were fixed immediately. I would recommend this to anyone who is visiting Seoul alone and wants to be centrally located.
Thank you for an excellent review. Please visit us when you come to Seoul again! Thank you for coming, thank you for writing review. :) 감사합니다!
Very nice hostel , very clean and tidy, well equipped and nice location”
Very nice hostel , very clean and tidy, well equipped with microwave, refrigerator, safety box, slippers , toothbrush, shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Breakfast is good for ketosis , with salad and self made pan-fry eggs 🍳 (for sure have some chips , cereals, bread for toast and jam which I dun eat ) . Location is good , only 3 mins to subway station , 5 mins to airport limousine, 10mins walk to Myeong-dong and greatly surrounded by various restaurants. Highly recommended for solo travellers
Thank you for stayed our hostel, and gave us a great review. We are glad to see that you enjoyed!! See you again when you visit Seoul, Thank you for coming, Thank you for reviewing.
Wonderful stay”
5 to 8 mins walk from jonggak station exit 4. if you have big luggages like us, take exit 3 (elevator) cross the traffic junction. The building has a convenience store(G25 i think) and some coffee chains around. Staff were friendly, room was clean and comfortable.true to pictures. Its more of a hotel than hostel experience.. we asked for directions from one of the male staff and he willingly helped us with no signs of frustrations.theres also free locker at level 12 if we are planning for a day trip and have to check out on the day itself. thank you hostel haru for the hospitality! Will definitely choose this hostel again.
Thank you for stayed our hostel, and gave us a great review. We are glad to see that you enjoyed!! See you again when you visit Seoul, Thank you for coming, Thank you for reviewing.
Exceptional stay for solo travelers! Highly recommended!”
I am a frequent solo traveler in South Korea and stayed at many hostels and guesthouses, but Hostel HARU far exceeded my expectations! Stayed for 2 nights in the 6-bed room. The bed is so comfortable and I really like that each bed has its own private TV and light. Furthermore, there's bathroom in each room, and the place is really clean. Located about 10mins walk to Myeongdong, 2mins walk to Jonggak subway station, and a stone's throw away to many cheap and nice eateries. Will definitely return and stay here again on my next trip!
Thank you for stayed our hostel, and gave us a great review. We are glad to see that you enjoyed!! See you again when you visit Seoul, Thank you for coming, Thank you for reviewing.

The hostel was good, 10 mins walk from Myeong Dong, the bus station and metro station are also very near. There are 2 convenience stores, countless restaurants and street food booth around here. Would recommend it to any one who visiting Seoul

Great location, clean rooms, good breakfast ”
I stayed at hostel haru for 6 nights. The hostel is centrally located and within walking distance to most places of interest. Metro is also very closeby. Rooms are large and clean, towels refreshed daily. Large breakfast selection. Staff are largely friendly although I had an unpleasant checkin. Not all staff spoke good English and communication was an issue at times. During checkin, I was not clearly informed of the facts. Over all it was still a good hostel.
We are always trying our best to provide good service for all our guests, we are sorry that you had an unpleasant check-in, we are all working harder to improve our communication with our guests. After all English is not the first language for our Korean staffs so we hope for everyone's understanding that they are still learning. We promise to provide you a better service the next time you visit!
perfect place for solo travellers”
stayed here about 6 nights in 6 bed. location is perfect, about 2min walk to jonggak station, also near to bus stop of airport limousine bus. within walking distance to many tourist sites. lots of things to do in the neighbourhood, insadong. personal tv is a great plus! bathroom facilities are within their own enclosed space, so it's not noisy when someone is showering. breakfast is also a very decent spread - bread, egg, salad etc. only thing is that they don't provide bath towels, ONLY face towels, so rmb to bring your own! hostel haru staff also super friendly and helpful! very happy with my stay here. will stay here again!!!
Thank you Filzah for staying with us for 6 nights and writing such detailed review! In Korea, we uses small towels instead of bath towels that's why we provide two fresh towels each day so that you can use one for your body and one for your hair! :) We are glad that you enjoyed your stay here with us! Do come back again soon!
Loved my stay!”
I stayed in Hostel Haru for a total of 7 nights and this is my first time staying in a hostel too. It was a lovely experience! The breakfast options are awesome - the facilities are amazing! The room and the comfort room in the 8-person dorm is just so good. Everything is clean and tidy and they have everything you needed. The location is amazing too, it is a few minutes walk from the train station and a few minutes walk to Myeongdong! I loved my stay! Highly recommended.
Thank you for stayed our hostel, and gave us a great review. We are glad to see that you enjoyed!! See you again when you visit Seoul, Thank you for coming, Thank you for reviewing.
Exceptional”
The hostel had been a very good choice, no regrets. The room I stayed in looked just like to one in the photos posted. It is very clean and staff does everyday cleaning of the rooms. I was even pleasantly surprised that the hostel give free wash for clothes and you can pay for a low amount for the use of their dryer which is very helpful if you want to go back home with all your stuff cleaned, already. The breakfast spread ks filling and the common room is so nice to stay in. There is a great sense of comfort in the place and the staff are always so helpful and approachable. This is my first time as a solo traveler and the service, accessibility and safety afforded to me are exceptional. I will definitely be staying here when I visit Seoul again.
Thank you so much!See you next time~!
