I stayed at Casa Gracia on March 2015 with my parents. I was so excited because it was the first time in Barcelona for me, and also for my parents, it was the first time in Europe. When we got the hostel right from the airport from Korea, we were exhausted, but since we saw the room, it was really nice and we could be relaxed. Room was very nice, the bathroom was big with wonderful bathtub. We were satisfying with the room, location, and kind staff. It took only a couple of minutes from the subway station - very easy to find. Also the best part of staying at Casa Gracia was on my mom's birthday. I asked a nice restaurant for my mom's birthday to a staff, and I found the Hotel has every evening special dinner time with different program.( Such as live music show, Tapas night and so on.)It was Live music night on my mom's birthday, so I made a reservation for dinner. All staff celebrated my mom's birthday, and baked amazing cake for her. Also wonder champagne with lovely live birthday music just for her. My mom was tired at that time because of jet-lag, but still now she sometimes mentions about her special birthday at Casa Gracia and says it was really fantastic. Also personally myself, the welcome post card on the table was soooooo adorable. If I visit Barcelona one more time, I would like to stay at Casa Gracia again. Thank you for all the staff that I could have wonderful memories in Barcelona.

The Martinval Hostal/Hotel is a perfect place to stay in Barcelona. It is 10 minutes walk to Las Rambla and the Sagrada Familia. Heaps of restaurants and cafes nearby. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff are really friendly and helpful. We walked to the nearby subway station about 7 minutes away and caught the train to the airport for €4 each. Barcelona is a wonderful city. We will definitely stay at the Martinval next time we visit.

This was our first visit to Barcelona. I did not regret getting into this property as it was close to what we needed, Sagrada fi Familia and other places. Rooms were clean, we had all what we needed. We took the shared bathroom option for the first time ever. Bathroom was shared between 4 other rooms, so in total I would say around 10 other people staying on the same floor. Expect waiting for someone to come out from the bathroom or do get your own private bathroom or use a different floor. Reception staff are realy friendly, gave us all the information we needed to get across the Barcelona. Thanks for that. Overall I would stay here again, but will choose a private bathroom.

It was lovely to walk into the air-conditioned premises of Casa Kessler. My daughters and I loved the character of the hostel with its beautiful ceilings and tiled floors.. The facilities are excellent (showers, kitchen, communal room and terrace) . It was a lovely place to come back to after a busy day . The nearest metro stations are a 10 mn walk away and there is a bus (V15) around the corner that takes you to Barceloneta beach. The neighbourhood is pleasant and feels safe walking back late at night. We were able to leave our luggage in storage after checking out and collected them very late. We were also able to relax in the communal room and have access to the facilities for free before departing at 1:30am. This was a real bonus and meant we enjoyed another full day in Barcelona not having to worry about our luggage. All members of staff were friendly and helpful. We highly recommend Casa Kessler.

A hotel stragically located next to Placa de Sants metro station from where we can have access to many places of interest all by train. (The passenger is charged per entry basis irrespective of the number of stations passed.) These places include Sagrada Familia; Park Guell(Lesseps Station); La Ramblas (Catalunya Station); The Royal Palace(Espanya Station); Ciutadell Park (Ciutadella Vila Olimpica)and The Habour(Station Drassanes). The Sants Barcelona Main Station which is the starting point of the high-speed RENFE AV train to Madrid and Malaga,is just within walking distance from the hotel and I really enjoyed the scenery of the countryside as I travelled from Barcelona to Madrid!The room of the hotel is quite small, but very clean bacause of daily house-keeping. The staff are very friendly though some do not speak English.The cafeteria next door is a good place to have coffee and beer and the Manager is extremely jovial!

Generator Barcelona is a 7-10min walk from the metro. Although the neighborhood seems dark and quiet at night, it’s extremely safe. There’s also a lot of nearby 24hr convenience stores near the area. The rooms were cleaned regularly, and so were the bathrooms. The staff was nice and accommodating. Tried asking for a bottom bunk for my shared room, and they gladly gave me one (this makes all the difference to me). My only issue is that the elevator can be slow sometimes - can be troublesome of you’re rushing for something. But overall, Generator Hostels never seems to fail me. It’s always my go-to hostel whenever I go to Europe, and Generator Barcelona kept that reputation.

I am a solo female traveler in my early 60’s. I stayed at Somnio in April of 2014 and will stay there any time I return to Barcelona. The hostel is in a safe, convenient location within a short walk of the Airport bus, metro, and Place Catalunya. My single room was on the second floor. It was clean, and there was a twin bed, armoire, side table and sink. There was a small balcony overlooking a courtyard. Being able to open the balcony door and have fresh air was a treat, and in the morning I awoke to the sound of song birds. The shared bathrooms were spotlessly clean. The only problem I experienced was that the shower drain stopped up, but I hope that was a transient problem. The desk is staffed by welcoming folks 24 hours a day. Restaurants of all levels and stores carrying “tourist groceries” (sandwiches, beverages, fruit, yogurt, snacks) are in the same block. I became fond of the restaurant tents along Place de Catalunya where as a solo diner I was welcome to take up a table for four without being made to feel I was wasting their space. Arriving at 9 PM or so I would often linger until after midnight which, by the way, seems to be a local custom. I would read a book, people watch and had fun exploring new foods (served as tapas or small plates) and drinks. I highly recommend Somnio for anyone looking for a clean, safe place to sleep in Barcelona who wants to save money for other aspects of travel.

After searching for a good hotel in Barcelona, I decided to book this one since the location was decent and it looked modern and clean. My family and I very checking in at separate times, the hostal staffs were very accommodating and helpful. The room was exactly like the picture which was great, very clean and modern in a old Spanish style building. I would say the location of the hostal is great as it was very close to places like Sagrada Familia, Casa Mila, and few other main touristy spot. We did take the cab to a few other places as we just wanted to skip the walk. I would surely recommend this place.

It's one of the best hostels I've ever statyed in Spain. It's economic and modern. Staff are very friendly and helpful; Breakfast is really great that you can stuff yourself with yum food; The use of electric room key is very convenient and safe; The bed is very cozy; Electric plugs are available in two styles - very convenient to backpackers all around the world; Washroom is great and well-designed (though there might be a bit of water leakage from the ceiling to the standing tub); Wifi is super-fast which allows me to use laptops in the room as well; The view is magnificent; Very close to Metro station (allow us to have nightlife in city centre!); Very calm and quiet at night, you won't be disturbed by the noise in the street... I love Barcelona Urbany Hostel!

This place is in a great spot, we could walk to everything! Its great value for money considering the price of other accommodation in Barcelona, and the staff are both helpful and friendly. The room itself was well sized but very dated and the decorations tacky. The windows in the room where high up on the wall and we were unable to open the blinds. We had one of the only 2 rooms that had its own bathroom which was great until we realised the window from the bathroom faced the courtyard where other guests liked to smoke cigarettes. The bed was ok, not super uncomfortable but not comfortable either. If I was to go back to Barcelona i would likely stay somewhere else and pay the additional money for a nicer place, would just depend on the budget!

I was staying at Rodamon for 2 nights and for sure I will stay here again next time I’m in Barcelona. Everything was perfect. Location is great, pretty close to metro station (less than 3 minutes walk), in a walking distance to Sagrada Familia (I walked there and it was super easy and fast), close to Catalunya (everything is in walking distance), pretty close to this tapas bar Cerveceria Catalana, which was recommended by one of their staff and I couldn’t be more grateful cause it was an amazing tapas bar. I went there twice! The bed was comfortable and clean, we had our our curtain in every bed so we had privacy, we had a locker in the bedroom, one for each person, and the shared bathrooms were also clean and spacious, with a well-function showers. The common room was also great for hang out. I would recommend everyone, especially solo travelers to stay at Rodamon. Seriously the best hostel I’ve stayed so far in all around countries. I hope they have a Rodamon in every city in Europe!

It’s a small hotel but all was good, hotel staff was friendly and helpful, we had a room in a first floor. The room was small with a little balcony, but nice and clean. The bathroom was also quite small but nothing we couldn’t handle. What wasn’t good was the noise coming from the other rooms because of the thin walls. The hotel close to metro like 8 mins and also walking distance from the main squares and Sagrada Familia. The price was really good for Barcelona hotel, so we were a little worries when we booked it but we were pleasantly surprised and satisfied for what we got.

My stay was astounding. One of the BEST hostels in Europe! If you stay at URBANY BCN GO--expect 5-star treatment, great facilities, pub crawls every night. Staff is very professional--Cristina, Elise, Christophe, Wendy, Courtney, LAURA from MIAMI BEACH, SARAH from Wales, Sarah from OZ, Dexter are 5-star team members along with the rest. Danny and management do a great job here managing the operations of a 260-bed hostel. 8 levels with a game room, kitchen, laundry room in the basement. There are 8 free computers on the ground floor with a bar that serves dinner, drinks from 7 pm to 1 am each night. Breakfast is served from 7:30 am to 11 am each morning for only 4 EURO! Each dorm or private room has ensuite bathrooms and showers for guest comfort, convenience. On the top level, there is a terrace overlooking a beautiful view of the city as well as a small swimming pool if you want some FUN in the SUN. Best part is the nightly activities that the crew coordinates with FREE cover into some of the most exclusive CLUBS. There is a party bus for 4 EURO that takes you to the PARTY in STYLE coordinated by great hostesses. You won't be disappointed if you book a room or bed at URBANY BCN GO. Give them a try, see how you can experience BARCELONA in a truly unforgettable time.

Barcelona Central Garden was the perfect place to stay in Barcelona. The staff was extremely friendly and knowledgeable with recommendations of what to do and how to do it as well as how to save money. There were a few activities organized by the hostel while I was there which were very fun a land a great way to meet other travelers. Overall. I would highly recommend this hostel to anyone staying in Barcelona.

We had a corner room. Double bunk. The bathroom next our room can be noisy at times when the fan goes off. Yet it is an indicator of occuption. Sadly, the shower facility was broken. It does get clean second day or so. 8am is the worst time to use the bathroom. Love the free breakfast and free water for topping up. your own bottle. It was less thing to worry about during outing. Although Barcelona has more drinking fountains than Paris. The staff were help in listing iconic attractions, facilities in here, and laundry options. One thing which bugged us the most was the old style lift. Constantly stuck on some floor because someone didn't close all three doors. The lift has two inner doors and one outer door. You need to shut all three before it can ascend and descend. On most days, we climbed three flights of stairs. Also, wifi is slow. Go to the shopping centres nearby for faster wifi. Catch bus 7 on the Avinguda Diagnol (street): Centre commercial Glóries or L'illa Diagnol.

If you´re coming to Barcelona look no further that this place! Good vibes embody this hostel and the staff is so warm and helpful that you feel instantly at home. It´s a terrific place to meet people if you´re a solo traveler and free sangria or food is served each night. Facilities are clean and modern with the kitchen including free coffee/tea/spices/cooking oils. Located a stone´s throw away from the Arc de Triomf, it´s set in an excellent location and there´s options of nightly trips to the bar if you fancy it. I ended up staying here by accident (there are 2 hostels with very similar names) and that initial mistake turned into an exceptional 2 week experience. Will def stay here again!!

We arrived to hostel at about 23:00. We were met at the reception without any problem, we gave a deposition for keys (10 euro each) and sucessfully got our rooom. It was so clean and smelled so good (this smell of clean sheets was there for all three days). Beds were comfortable af. It was noisy outside but it's obvious if you live in the city centure. There are free lockers at room. No wardrobe. We shared bathroom with other rooms but it was not uncomfortable at all. It also was clean and well-equiped. Especially nice were guys at the reception. They gave us free food that was left after dinner when we arrived late and hepled us a lot with routes and nice places. Also we were given free maps and printed timetable of trains to Port Aventure. They printed our e-tickets for free as well. The metro station is nearby, two streets to cross. Bus stops are almost everywhere. There are cheap bars, fruit shop and supermarket on the same stree, very convenient just in case. To sum up, it was one of the best hostels I've ever been to, highly recommend it!

I stayed for 2 nights. The Gràcia district is the best area for hanging out in Barcelona. The building is modern with a stylish area to eat or work on your laptop, and a spacious private courtyard open from 8AM - 8PM. Everything was clean and the toilet facilities were good. The WiFi was fast. My 4-bunk dorm was spacious. Perhaps the only problem was the lack of coat hooks, there were only two, there should be one for each person staying in the room. It would also be handy to have more hooks to hang wet towels etc. The owners Damià and Lucia work there during the daytime and are friendly. All the staff I encountered were nice. The keycard system is convenient - one card opens the main door to the hostel, the door to your room and your locker. You must give a €5 deposit for the card, which you get back. The card stops working at exactly 11AM on your check-out day, so, be careful not to get locked out of your room if you are running late. I will stay at Jam Hostel again.

1 Very nice terrace, even if a bit windy. I imagine it would be perfect on summer months. 2. No upper sheet, just blanket. Does not feel comfortable. 3. I don't think the floor in my room was even brushed once during my stay. (Corridors and bathrooms were brushed and washed daily) 4. Though shower stalls are nicely roomy, showers themselves left lot to wish for. Water pressure dropped off when hot was turned to maximum (but if less than maximum, water was too cold). In one of three stalls flow was reduced to mere trickle. I'm in favor of economizing water with timers, but 4 seconds?!! (I counted). Washing one-handed takes lot more time. 5. Kitchen is closed from 14-18 for cleaning. Most of the times I went to kitchen, sink was full of dirty dishes. Maybe if staff could step in every hour or half and wash few pots (or better, ask people to clean after themselves), they would not need 4 hours to clean.(ok, usually kitchen was open long after 2) 6. Some of the staff were quite rude, but others were nice, so I give 2 stars. 7. Room where I was had 8 beds and only 2 power outlets. When I asked for extension cord, I got very gruff 'No'. The adapter kept falling out of the wall and again, the guy in reception couldn't care less. But in the end he found me an extension cord.

One of the best hostels I have stayed at. They have a program for their guests who doesnt have an itinerary upfront. Free walking tours daily, they have paella-making nights which I soo love. They gave out some free dinners too! The staff is awesome, very friendly and always ready to help. Special shout out to Raf, Jen and Niko and all the lovely ladies of Black Swan - you guys rock! Even though the rooms are shared, showers and toilets are separate from the guys. I will definitely rebook here when I find my way again to Barcelona. All the best!!!

The location was good and the lady who cleans and sets up breakfast in the morning is very kind and helpful. No one was ever really around if you had any questions. We didn't even know who was actually in charge until a few days in. People were constantly arriving to check in when there was no one working, so they would ring the doorbell over and over until my boyfriend and I would finally answer it. It also got very loud, which isn't uncommon for a hostel, but the doors were constantly slamming, even at 3 in the morning. The guy in charge, or at least I assume, was unhelpful, didn't feel like fixing the kitchen sink when it broke, and constantly seemed to be in a hurry to leave. The showers were warm sometimes, but the shower heads sprayed half way out of the shower, so the bathrooms were always soaking wet.

The location is perfect! Very close to Plaza de Catalunya and, what was important for me, to the stop of the night buses to the airport. The only drawback - it seemed not very clean, especially the bedsheets. I am not sure if they were clean or not. Still, worth the money. I guess it is the cheapest hostel in Barcelona. The staff was very friendly. Another point - they charge you 2 EUR for the locker in the room (if you don't have your own lock).
