We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Du Congress. The room was clean, we've got the window with good view. We don't spent any money for transportation as we just walked to everywhere and took us less than 1 hour to the famous spot. This hotel was everything we need during our short stay in Brussels.

This hotel is very new, we stayed for 2 nights during our business trip to Europe. All of us are very happy with the hotel. The room size is big in European standard, very clean. Location is perfect since we travel as a group and no one knows the area very well. We will definitely go back there.

We had a great stay in a business room at the hotel. This was in the heart of the Centre of Brussels close to all the tourist places, bars and restaurants. I loved it. Great breakfast buffet, but quite high priced. (but yeah, it a 5*). Be aware, I was here a second time and the standard rooms are more outdated then the business rooms, really a difference. But overall it was great !!

We came to Brussels to visit the Christmas markets, and this hotel was in the perfect location for it. - An easy walk to anywhere in the city. It was easy to get to, with Metro train stations very close too. The room was a decent size, and very clean. - Service was friendly, with nothing being too much of a problem.

The breakfast was good with a good choice of different things to eat. I really enjoyed my stay in NH Brussel Stephanie and would go there again.

Looks can be deceptive. I was a little worried on arrival at the dated interior (lots of gold finishing, a lift with carpeted walls, a kind of 1980s throwback. But the rooms were wonderfully air conditioned and had laminate floors. Beds were comfortable and bathrooms (also 80s throwback) were clean with everything you need. Breakfast was plentiful, but not of good quality, but I’m being picky here. Overall perfect and good value. I’d stay again.

The hotel was easy to find. From the tram stop around the corner of the church and you could see it. The room was larger than I expected. Enough drawers to put your stuff in. There was a small fridge in the room, which was convenient. The heating could be easily regulated. Internet was with free prepaid card that had 24 hrs on it. Did not try the breakfast.

Loved this hotel. The beds were like clouds. The facilities were brand new and clean. The only downside is having to pay for extras like shampoo, wifi, and TV. They nickel and dime you for sure. But the location was good, the price was right for the city, and the staff were helpful when needed. It was a very quiet hotel as well.

the hotel was very clean, new-looking and had great facilities. the staff was very helpful and friendly. when i checked in, the hotel staff (i think her name was sariska?) even helped me to figure out the train schedule so that i could make a day trip to brugge and printed it out! it's the extra assistance which makes a stay here worth it! hotel is very close to the airport (about a 5 min cab ride) and a 15 minute walk to the train station zaventem, making it accessible for a day trip to brugges.

Traveler impressions of Brussels
there is a prime city in the center for visitors, but nothing to see or eat if out of this center. inhabitants are mean and not quite nice.
Need a have least 1 pair or 2 pair of comfortable sports or outing shoes that you can walk around to discover something that you will not get in the city.
Always find the local life as to understand much on the local culture in daily exercise from food, shopping and travelling. You can safe and learn a lot from there.
We stayed for just one night so didn't explore much apart from the area around grand palace. Tonnes of charming shops and eating joints.
Great for buying chocolates and macaroons and enjoying excellent food.
Good public transportation, friendly people, troitoirs made of stone not practical for ladies with high heels, saw about 3 women falling down.
A great city with an interesting history. You must try the waffels with cream and toffee. At night its best to just buy a few beers from a kiosk and go to the Grand Palace where everyone simply sits on the ground and the surrounding benches and drinks and socalise long into the night.
great place for a weekend. check out delirium bar and the cocktail bar next door. lots of cool places to hang out and have a beer.
I liked the spirit of the city and the architecture. The food and beet history is quite interesting and there are many cool and unique shops.
Visit the Manneken Pis, Jeanneke Pis, Grand Place-Grote Markt & Atonium. Eat Belgium chocolate, waffles & drink beer while in Brussels!
Brussels is such a strange little city, but very loveable. It has a lot of history, and the architecture is amazing and tells a story all on its own.
Its quite multicultural in that there are many asian stores and restaurants around as well as many other European fare. The Christmas markets are AMAZING, and would highly recommend visiting while they're around. The beer is to die for and is a reason alone to visit the city, with literally thousands to choose from. You can't leave without trying the Trappers Beer brewed by Trappers Monks, and the Delerium should also be on your list, holding a world record of having the most beer (some 3,000 at last count). If you get a chance, take a walking tour - there is so much history and culture in the city and you will have a much deeper appreciation for Brussels and Belgium afterwards. Be sure to try the Belgian waffles and the Fries which are amazing and available almost on every street corner. I highly recommend going to the Georgette for fries which is down the alleyway near the Royal Galleries. The Brussels Museum in the Grand Plas is well worth a visit if you have time and are interested in the history and culture of the city. Overall a strange and obscure city with its own proud culture, and a place that you would love if you aren't afraid of strange and obscure. Not typical in the slightest.
Besides the usual Grand Place, check out the Atomium. As for the main Cathedral, look out for the interesting sculptures in the park in front.
While there please look at the much newer surrounding apartments and see how they imitate the twin towers of the Cathedral with falsetto sculptures resembling the towers of the Cathedral pined to the roofs.
Most of the inhabitants is Brussels do not speak English and all the signboard is not in English. The architecture of monuments and cathedral is beautiful but can be improved with better maintenance.
Very interesting city, full of culture, history and, of course, tourists. A lot of things to do. One trip is not enough.
Nice city with a lot of landmarks to visit, planty of museums, bars with local beer and restaurants..
..good for chocolate and French fries lovers! Surprisingly I found the city been a bit dirty with funny smells all around and a might be rough in certain areas at night. Overall a nice city but a tripe to Bruge is highly raccomended!
We have a great time in Brussels flower carpet festival. However, if you wanna really enjoy the night view of the carpet, you must take part in the open ceremony, because that is the only lighting show with firework.
it's a nice place with good cuisine-i really enjoyed the pistolet sandwiches. although beer and food can be pricey here, you get what you pay for and there is a lot of quality food and sights within the city.
pleasantly surprised about the ease of transportation--walking, cycling, and the train are all viable options here, making it a nice place for either a vacation or a business trip.
brussels is a big village that maintains a small town feel even inside a cosmopolitan metro. there are many unique buildings and long historical anecdotes to be shared, but the mussels and fries are the real highlights.
There was nothing much to do in Brussels. We spent most of our time travelling out to the nearby cities.
We rented bicycles and toured the city, which was quite pleasant especially if you dont have alot of time to sightsee on foot.
Brussels is a really nice city especially if you like chocolate! what can I say, chocolate paradies.
Excellent for sampling Flemish cuisine. Brussels is an ideal city to wander around aimlessly and exploring the sights.
It is also perfect to sit in cafes or restaurants and watch the world go by.
Nice city with many local shop. Like walking down a small alley and entering a local Belgium Chocolate shop, tasting the flavor of sweetty.
A city with nice and unique architecture, even small size in comparision with Paris or Berlin.
In Brussels you must try the chocolates at Neuhause, Godive and Chocopolis. Brussel is famous for the beers and I recommend the Kvak, Westmalle, Orval and Leffe.
There was little to see or do. I'm glad I can tick it off my travel bucket list but I wouldn't go back again.
Really good, really interesting street art, really nice parks and churches and really friendly helpful people.
Definitely worth a visit.
Brussels like many other European captial cities is quite pricey. I would strongly recommend that you bring more than enough Euros to spend during your time there.
Another tip I can give is avoid using the taxis, if possible try to use the buses, trains or other forms of public transport. It is much cheaper. A must see city at least once in a lifetime in my personal view.
I like the city very much. Make sure you take a one day tour! very nice experience. The laser show at Grand Place is amazing.
.. don't miss it!
Its a small city but it has everything you can ask for. There is history, shopping, excellent food & restaurants, traveling around is very convenient.
...etc.
A very clean and friendly city. I have no problem finding my way to the destination by asking locals for direction as they're more than willing to help.
English is not an issue for locals.
Great place to visit, be aware of where you are going to stay. I ended up changing hotel because the area that my first hotel was in was undesirable (good hotel, was hassled by some of the locals because I was a female travelling alone.
It is small city and costs less than half day to walk around the center of the city. One day is enough for sightseeing.
Brussels has some culture but primarily a city surrounded by European politics, so it may not be the best place to experience authentic Belgian culture.
That said, the city is still lovely and the food is good.
