Must purchase from onsite restaurant at regular prices (no discount for staying there) - staff won’t store luggage, you need to pay to store in lockers downstairs. They wouldn’t even hold it a few hours while we waited to check in, as check in wasn’t until 2pm. So we had to pay to store our bags twice - upon check in and checkout. Found this a bit odd and off putting when all hostels and most hotels provide this service FOC - bathrooms for girls and boys are not on every floor. You may need to go up/down a level to access a bathroom to shower or toilet

Due to a lack of employees in such a large place, they wouldn’t let us check in until over an hour after we were supposed to. The beds were also pretty uncomfortable. Enjoyed my stay.Location was really convenient as I arrived by bus from Belfast and it was great to stay in Temple area.Staff were nice and very helpful.Had a nice lounge area with couches that I spent some time in catching up with a friend in Dublin.Breakfast was inexpensive and worthwhile.Ensuite in room was good.Highly recommend staying here when in Dublin

Abigail's was fantastic! Super clean/cozy room (I was in an 8-bed mixed), and I felt like my belongings were perfectly safe. The staff was really helpful and breakfast was superb. There's a great common area for everyone, and the location is perfect to see all the Dublin sights.

Great value for the money. This is a hostel, you'll sleep in a bunk bed, but other than that, it's a fantastic option to spend the night in Dublin. It's literally across the corner from the concert venue/club Tivoli and within walking distance from Temple Bar, O'Connell Street, Dublin Castle... The place is SUPER clean, pretty quiet for hostel standards... we got the private room for two people and the room included a mirror, plenty of electrical sockets (even within the bunk bed itself), a wardrobe, hangers... everything you need to spend a couple nights in Dublin, accomodation-wise. The place makes you feel at home with a great "serve yourself" breakfast near the rooftop terrace, but the best of the hostel is its staff: both people who supported us in the Reception during our stay where lovely and even recommended us some places to eat at in the city centre. I will stay here again next time I visit Dublin :)

We stayed there for four nights but compared to B&B's on the countryside this Hotel can only be recommended for travellers with a very limited budget. No Breakfast will be served; the rooms are noisy and very cold, even in May. Nevertheless the hotel is situated no far away from all major tourist spots in Dublin.

Good location to walk to everything, and catch every bus or train you need. Our room and beds were clean, and the showers and toilets were clean... what more could you ask for in a hostel! My daughter and I had our own room, so I can’t speak for the larger rooms. There’s no air conditioning, so it can get warm in the rooms if you don’t have a fan going. There is a tr...

My daughter and I had our own room, so I can’t speak for the larger rooms. There’s no air conditioning, so it can get warm in the rooms if you don’t have a fan going. There is a train near that can be noisy, but our room didn’t get the noise 😊 We didn’t use much of the facilities, but saw many travelers cooking their food there and sitting in the common area chatting and hanging out. There was a breakfast included with our stay... but again.. we didn’t get to see it, because we were either gone before it opened at 7:30am or still sleeping from a late night out and missed it because it ends at 9:30. I would stay here again, because it served our purpose perfectly for what we needed.

Overall was good, comfortable, friendly & helpful staff. Direct bus from Dublin Airport number 747 for Euro10 return, stop at station number 6. common room and kitchen cleanup time 2-3pm daily, really dirty in the morning due to irresponsible peeps who used it the night before.

It has an elevator, beautiful architecture, great windows, a wonderful view of the river, great friendly and helpful staff. It's very clean, unlike alot of hostels. It has adequate plugs for electricals and also makes computers available to use the internet on. The downside is that the bed I got was lumpy and not at all flat, but maybe I just got a lemon. I'm sure they can't all be that unflat. Also the luggage cages under the beds are very creaky and many hostel guests just don't care how much noise they make. The breakfast could be improved upon with a better grade of coffee, whole wheat instead of just white toast, and real juice not diet whatever. But all in all, the best hostel I've tried in Dublin so far.

The members of staff were helpful on Wifi connection (no password needed!) and provided me hot water for making my own hot chocolate. Maps for tourist hot spots; bus to airport and other services are available from the Reception too. Don’t bother bringing that huge book of Lonely Planet with you – I left mine at home intentionally! Check-in was fast-and-easy: sign acknowledgement form, get card key (for elevator + room + central light + bathroom; bed lights are usable without card), and off you go. This hostel is conveniently located in Smithfield. As the LUAS (the tram service in Ireland – they are still enhancing its network after launching in 2004) is adjacent to the hostel, going to the City Centre is a breez. Famous Irish landmarks are within reach: The Old Jameson Distillery is just in front of Generator; Guinness Storehouse + Ha’Penny Bridge; the Spire on O’Connell St through LUAS; National Museum of Ireland, National Concert Hall, Trinity College and Grafton St by bus or walking. Day and night views along the Quay are captivating! There is a British power plug for each bed allocated; the specially-designed holder (above your head) for your gadgets while sleeping; fresh white linens provided on your first day; mirror + toilet tissues + hair dryer provided in my 6-bed shared ensuite bathroom. Please bring your shampoo + soap + towels + flip-flops. Water pressure is excellent, good water temperature and the shower head is detachable for children. No fan / air-conditioner in room. No in-house laundry facilities. Breakfasts not inclusive but try the in-house Irish Breakkie! Bring padlocks for huge horizontal lockers below beds. This is a modern, fun, clean and lively hostel at a great price and friendly members of staff; ideal for those who love exploring the city by walking / public transport. Please do not expect 5-Star treatment.

Traveler impressions of Dublin
It was only a 2-day short trip from my main trip to England. The Guinness Storehouse tour was the main highlight of the trip and had a great time walking around Dublin and having good food with many pints of Guinness.
Friendly people everywhere who stop to help you answer questions to give directions. Tourist friendly indeed.
Extremely friendly people, and we had good weather... The DART out to Bray was very scenic, and Malahide was awesome also.
..
Great city for drinking and shopping. Try go when the weather is good, though. bad weather meant we couldn't walk around as much as we would have liked.
For a woman traveling alone, the city felt quite safe. The streets and sidewalks need to be swept -- they are really dirty.
The city feels very crowded and the tourist buses too many. Crossing the streets is dangerous but the directions well marked. The street signs are invisible; only the locals know where they are!
This is by far one of my favourite cities in the world. From sightseeing to dining and entertainment Dublin has the lot
Nice places with good shopping. I would highly recommend to take a one day trip to galway and cliff of moher.
The local people we encountered in Dublin were the very friendliest people I have encountered in my travels throughout the Europe.
They are so proud of their heritage and culture, and eager to share it.
We are never bored in Dublin. no matter when we go there we find lots to do. We stayed in the Double tree Burlington hotel this time and saw another part of Dublin.
Its a beautiful location and feels very safe and quiet.
There's always something to see and do in Dublin, historical sites, monuments, theatre and nature to mention but a few.
i it's an energetic vibrant city
TWe stayed over Easter weekend , the anniversary ofthe 1916 uprising. So on sunday there was a rememberance service and the next day a festival with vintage cars, people wearing vintage clothes, rides for the children and live music.
The city tour bus is excellent, hop on and off for two days,19 euros. Lots of the museums are free but not open on a Monday. If you want to visit the guinness factory or the jail I would suggest you pre_book as they are very popular. Why not visit Shell Bourne the greyhound racingtrack.Phoenix park is massive, and popular with joggers, there is also a zoo.
Dublin has a great variety of activities for all budgets and tastes. We particularly enjoyed the shopping district around O'Connell Street with a great option of local businesses and almost all worldwide high-street brands.
Dublin has very scenic accessible walks, either along the river Liffey with its lovely bridges or around the Castle or Temple bar area. It's worth visiting the premises of Trinity College with its Old Library, the nearby Grafton street area for a stroll around the shops and coffee at Butler's (on Wicklow Street) or dinner at the stylish Trocadero (on St Andrew's Street). It's a must to visit Dublin Castle, the nearby Gardens, St Patrick's cathedral, St Stephen's Green and the nearby National Museum of Ireland. After a late stroll around the Temple Bar area, it's worth stopping at the very friendly café/bistro Al's Stage Door on Essex Street, with very friendly service and a cosy, welcoming atmosphere that lets anyone feel at home in Dublin.
Places to Visit: - Jameson Whiskey museum. (Also Guinness - but I prefer Jameson museum.) - Wander down Grafton St (Buskers etc) & Stephens Green - Trinity College - wander around and/or visit Library/Book of Kells.
Nightlife - Temple Bar is you like it hectic - Or find a nice pub and talk to the locals. TONERS, Baggot St; KENNEDYS, Westland Row; DAVE BYRNES OR NEARY'S, Grafton St Area. - Theatre: Always several good plays on: ABBEY, GATE etc. Pre-cautions - Just be a bit aware of possible pick pockets/bag snatchers.
You have to have a full irish breakfast from Herb Street near the docklands next to The Marker Hotel.
Not only is the architecture really cool in the area so your eyes will have their fill as well, the food at Herb Street is so fresh! The Marker Rooftop bar is a must stop but they close early at 11pm.
I really enjoyed a relaxing afternoon with a friend exploring Trinity College, this place has hundreds of years of history and has many famous graduates over many centuries .
I recommend plenty of time to soak up and learn about it's history .
a beautiful city, with fun welcoming people. DART train allows you cheaply into the city centre or out to beach/ port locations like Howth and Greystones.
A fascinating cosmopolitan city.
Dublin is the home of "Craic!" Impossible not to have fun no matter what you are there for. Whether it be a romantic getaway, discovering your Irish heritage, on a mad weekend bender with the lads.
Probably the best selection of bars anywhere in the world. Surprisingly some excellent places to eat aswell. If you can get out of Temple Bar please do so, as this is basically touristville, you will pay more for everything and as close to an irishman you will find will be a pretty eastern european girl behind the bar, or a scottish guy in a kilt walking the streets.
as this review is about our return journey i booked the HILTON HOTEL dublin airport (I even rang them) THIS HOTEL IS A VERY LONG WAY FROM THE AIRPORT NOT WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE.
WE HIRED A CAR RETURNED THE CAR AND HAD TO MAKE OUR WAY BACK . (THEIR ARE OTHER HOTELS MUCH CLOSER WITHIN IN WALKING DISTANCE) THEY CHARGE FOR THE WIFI ONLY FREE IN PULIC AREAS EVEN CUT OUT COFFE AND BISCUITS IN THE ROOM.
Parts of Dublin city centre are very rough, and not very nice. That said, there are plenty of sights to see from the Guiness factory, to Christchurch cathedral, St Stephen's green and many more.
Definitely worth a weekend trip!
dublin is a great city. relatively small so easy to get around by foot if you are able to. generally always cold.
lots of pubs especially on temple bar that are great at night. great shops and tours available that take you on day trips to places such as the cliffs and blarney castle
Dublin was not very exciting as a city especially for tourists. It doesn't have too much to see and many streets were very quiet.
But food was interesting and the live music in pubs were fun.
Dublin is a great city! I would reccomend jumping on one of the sightseeing tours and circle the city and then go back and visit what area you prefer.
There is so much to see in Dublin. Taxi drivers are honest and great sources for where to go and what to avoid and they will give you directions and sources. St. Patricks Cathedral is stunning and cultural. Temple Bar area is fun with lots of places to eat and shop but its not the area for small children. dublin has museums and the Guiness tour its a wonderful city. You need at least 3 full days to see the highlights.
A great city: friendly people, easily accessible. A great city combining fun and culture and doesn't take itself too seriously.
There are so many things to see and do. The sightseeing, theatre performances, history, nightlife - everything.
Don't forget to travel outside of Dublin to NewGrange. This tour can also be organised from Dublin.
Take the Dublin Bus Hop-on/hop-off tour to get a good overal view of the city. Trinity College and the Book of Kells, Kilmainham Gaol, St.

The best time to come is in the Summer when (hopefully) the weather will be good. You can enjoy the weather along with the many activities and facilities Dublin has to offer!
Dublin is a nice, small city, so you can cross it for a couple of days and then visit Irish breathtaking landmarks, they are really exciting
Dublin is amazing! We were amazed by the kindness of the people and their will to help! This was the first thing we noticed about the city! A big plus for restaurants is that they always serve you drinking water to the table I loved that! People kept warning us about robberies of phones&wallets at the trinity college area, gladly we didn't get a proof for that to be true! The city bus tour is nice you can get a combo ticket with airport shuttle for 26€
Very easy city to walk about. Lots of bars and restaurants. Many sites right in the city. Very friendly helpful residents.
Dublin seems to be Ireland's New York City. It's bustling with people at all times of the day. There is so much to see and do here! We ventured over to Trinity College which is rich in history! Here you can see buildings that date from the 1700s and the Book of Kells which dates back to 600 AD! The library is breathtaking with its vaulted arched ceiling, two levels of extensive book collections, and white bustforms of ancient figures in history outlining the lower level.
Our tour guide, Steven, was very entertaining. Grafton street is great for shopping. Temple Bar is great for eats and nightlife. The Pint is a great venue for music and though we did not visit the Guiness Storehouse we would have liked to.
