I recently stayed at Hotel 1900 Chinatown and had a mixed experience. Upon check-in, I was given room 418, which faced the roadside and had a small, non-opening window. I was initially very pleased with the room size, the amenities provided, and the furniture. However, the first night was quite disruptive due to noise from outside; the garbage truck was cleaning trash until after 1 AM. I sent a message to the property through Agoda requesting a room change, and the hotel staff were very accommodating, telling me to pack my things and contact the reception the next morning. The front desk staff told me that room 418 had a window, which they implied made it a better room, and offered me ear plugs, which I declined, thinking a room change would be a better solution. So, I moved to room 409 for the second night. This room had no window and was very small, with a bed that was very high. Despite the size and layout, I thought it would be fine for just one night since it was a quiet room. Unfortunately, that was not the case. The guests in nearby rooms were making noise until after 1 AM again, shouting and walking back and forth to their friends' rooms. Like other comments have mentioned, the hotel's soundproofing was very poor, which made for another restless night. In hindsight, I should have accepted the ear plugs and stayed in the same room. Additionally, I found hair on the bed under the blanket when I moved into room 409, which was quite disgusting.
