This hotel was awful, it was dirty, towels look like they had been used, someone walked in to our room with the do not disturb sign on the door! the free breakfast was a joke as well. I have stayed in a lot of hotel in NY and this one is the worst I have ever stayed in.... The hotel is not what it they are showing on this web site! I check for bed bugs, I tried to get a new hotel room but none were available I was there for the design week! Very sad hotel
Good location but basic, filthy and needs an update. Not great value.”
The hotel is in a good location but my room was very dirty. I was only booked for a few nights and had prepaid so I didn’t have much choice or budget to go elsewhere. NY is very expensive so even a low grade hotel can still charge a lot. The ease of getting around was my only reason for staying here. The door staff were a mix of unfriendly and then really lovely people, like Mallela, who was brilliant. My room had signs of dirt everywhere and the kitchenette was not very clean, including the fridge that still had food remnants inside. It had been very badly cleaned and even warned about attracting “unwanted visitors”! I should have complained, but I just wanted to enjoy my short time in NY so was only there to sleep. Breakfast was ok but nowhere to comfortably eat. In normal terms the room was worth no more than $50 a night but here you can demand a lot for downtown location and ease of transport. It’s worth paying extra for a clean, comfortable room elsewhere.
Nice location and friendly staff”
The location is really great. The subway is not far away from the hotel. Restaurants, bar, etc. everywhere at the corner. The staff were super friendly and helpful. We got a room with private bathroom and it was really clean. We had enough towels for the whole week and a tiny kitchenette, so lovely. The breakfast was not so much however if you had enough of it, you could go to any cafe shop and get your breakfast there.
Great value for money, wonderful location ”
The hotel in very well located, within meatpacking district, right next to the ACE and L subway. The room is pretty basic, nothing fancy but it has everything you need and is quiet and clean. We booked a room with private bathroom and shower, they were clean and shower was good. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The only few comments I have is that the Wifi was not so good and door was quite difficult to lock (had to be slammed which may have disturbed our neighbors)
Good choice for bed and breakfast”
Good value for the money you pay. Clean with a simple but enough breakfast, but whithout elevator (it has 4 floors). Air condition is not the quietest one. Would definitely stay there again. Staff very helpful and always available. 50mts from the subway, located in mid Manhattan, allowing to walk around the town with little use of public transportations (who is willing to walk :) )
Room was not well cleaned. There was not a bathroom in the room, we had to share one with the rest of the floor. We immediately walked out the room right after checking in and asked for a refund and they refused. Customer service was horrendous. We didn’t even put our bags down or was in the room 5 minutes. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. 0 stars if I could.
Great location ”
Metro access within 1 min walk. Breakfast had toast, croissants, juice and coffee. Very clean room. $10 for baggage storage per room. Felt safe.
Nice low-cost, comfy hotel”
I've stayed in the Hotel309 a few times, it's around the corner from my general work destination, is clean, inexpensive and offers decently sized rooms.
Nice budget hotel close to everything ”
Feet away from the subway, drug stores, and restaurants. Nice staff and the room had a refrigerator and microwave for making meals in the room, and the free breakfast was ok. Will definitely stay here again.
Just what you need”
It was just for one night in NYC and it was perfect. Great location (not far where the Megabus let us), just next to the subway. The staff was very friendly, room and bathroom clean. Breakfast was simple but just what you need. They have a big backyard where they put some effort to look nice. I'm not sure where you can eat in the winter though. Nothing to complain about! Thank you!
will definitly stay again”
Had a show at Webster Hall, short walk. Guy at the desk was polite and helpful with directions. Room and bathroom were very clean with marble/granite. Cool artwork in room and halls. Noon checkout. $144 after taxes for NYC...highly recommend!
PERFECT! most helpful staff we have come across in America, the receptionist even booked a megabus for us and saved us a lot of money! The only down side was not having our own private bathroom but we were aware of this when we booked and it was less hassle then we thought it would be. I most definitely recommend this hotel!!
good staff with patience, nice location.”
the room I stayed is not as clean as picture and the whole room smelling like detergent or something....also they made a mistake in my reservation, I ordered a room with private restroom for two night, but they told me I can have this only for one night, I may switch to the room without private restroom for the other night. The hotel staff feel so sorry about that and help me to communicate with Agoda's costumer service for cancelled one night room, finally I got my return. Hotel location was good, few steps from 14 st/8 avenue station, a CVS nearby.
Location is good. But No Wifi is a major problrm.”
Location is good. There is no lifts & elevators ,so don't bring too much belongings. Imagine you might have to climb up to the fifth or sixth floor! No WiFi is very embarrassing! Good location ”
Hotel Is situated on great location next to metro, breakfast includes coffe and croissant. Wifi for extra cost, computer with Internet & printer available to use anytime for free. Toilet is common, located outside of the room in the corridor. Room includes mini kitchen few dishes, microwave, fridge, hair dryer and tv
Not the Ritz, but excellent location”
The hotel is pleasant enough. Staff are friendly and the shared bathroom facilities were clean which is normally not the case (with shared bathrooms). The rooms are somewhat cramped with you barely being able to pass at the foot of the bed to get to the other side as it is so close to the wall and the paint job in the rooms need a bit of attention. That said the bed is very comfortable and bedding clean and the type you would expect in any good hotel. It is so conveniently situated. Its close to the metro and the Meatpacking District restaurants are literally just down the road. If you have a couple of days in NY and on a budget you cant go wrong.
I love it and would like to stay here again ”
I spent 1 week at Hotel 309. Firstly I didn't like it because it was a little bit dirty and old. However, I saw they try to do some renovation during I stay there that why it was cheap , after that I get used to for the noise and dirty and found out that was OK. I can excess to the hotel at any time with my key card and the location is very very great because it 5 foot step away from the subway station and not far from free wifi zone and nice restaurant which I feel comfortable like I stay at my home. Moreover, there is small pantry in the room which microwave and refrigerator. So, you can cook
not sure you can label it as hotel, quite run down”
Location was Great, but don't feel safe. Staff after 11pm hotel is run by a temp and he don't know anything. Accommodation is very run down accommodation, storage of bags are not free, approximately $20 including service charge. Would recommend hostel if traveling alone.
Great price with unbeatable location”
This is the second time staying here.Had room 22 which i liked even more than the last room we had. Our room was on the street so some noise from the street but was quiet at night. Clean and i love the kitchenette in the room. Great to have a fridge to store drinks and Microwave to heat up take out food. Short walk to the Meatpacking District,The Village and Chelsea.Indoor parking garage.8th ave subway Station and 24HR CVS right next door. 24HR pizza place and Deli right across the street.14th st has plenty of Bars and places to eat right here too.. coming back again
Stayed 4 days in 309 hotel,2 through hurricane Sandy (lost power in the last 2.The position of the hotel is its greatest feature if you enjoy the best food, who doesn"t. 1minute to Chelsea food market which has the cheapest and best lobsters in New York, and 10 mins walk to 23 street to the Italian eatery (Eaterly) as its called which also has the finest food anyone will enjoy. The hotel itself is quite old,but for ourselves it great, we chose the shared bathroom option, usually 2 on each level and only meters from each room. This was ok for us as they were always clean, but you can have your own for maybe $50 dollars more per night.Metro station is also only 1 minute walk,so hop on the transit system because its the cheapest and best way to see anything(Get the full size metro map at any station with a person selling rail tickets.
