Stayed with friends on July 1-2, 2022. The hotel is about 3-400 meters away from the MRT station, which can be tiring if you have luggage. However, taking the bus is more convenient than the MRT. There are many bus stops near the hotel. There is a 7-Eleven and food stalls nearby. It may be a bit quiet at night, but it's not scary. Two girls stayed here and it was okay. We stayed in a room with no windows, but it was still okay. There was a hairdryer and a TV where we could watch YouTube. The housekeeper came to clean the room. It's okay to stay here again.

Our 4 days 3 nights stay with hotel bugis was good. If you are not fussy with accommodation, this type is for you. We are always out the whole day so we find it good to have a rest. There was no noise even though it's in the main road. It is close to public transport, bugis Street mall for cheap souvenirs and lots of restaurants, cafe, convenience store nearby. I asked for extra pillow and ironing board and the staff was prompt. Just take note that they only provide 2 in 1 hair and body wash, and of couse toothbrush and toothpaste that they change everyday. So if you're particular with skin care, just bring your own lotion, conditioner. Other than that, its a good budget hotel

To preface, I booked a Superior Queen Room for 4 days and 3 nights. I also informed the hotel beforehand that I'll be having a late check-in (1AM) as my flight was a late flight. When I arrived, the staff at the front desk were welcoming and helpful and I was able to check-in to my room immediately. During my walk to my room, I noticed that the hallway was quite dirty, with not just dust but also clumps of hair on the floor. Upon entering my room (412), I immediately noticed a faint smell of paint. The room itself wasn't clean as I would like as there was dirt and hair on the floor. The AC might also be dysfunctional, as the temperature control was not working and it made the whole room damp (you can feel that the floor was damp and even clothes becoming damp). The bathroom itself was also quite small (not the same as the picture as shown). As I continued to stay in the room, I started to notice another smell aside from the paint smell. It smelled quite musty and as I continued to stay, it was giving me nausea and a headache. I couldn't tolerate hence I went to the front desk to ask if anything can be done. Initially, they offered to have the room sprayed with an air freshener but I am allergic to certain air fresheners and asked if anything else can be done. They then transferred me to another room. On the new room, it was a bigger space compared to the old one (I think this is their deluxe room). Also no smell was present and there was no problems with moisture. There was still some cleanliness issues (some dust on the floor) but it was cleaner compared to the first room. After being transferred to the new room, my stay the rest of the days were pleasant. The room was quiet even if it was in front of a main road. You can hear other tenants leaving their rooms, but this was not super loud. There were no toiletries provided aside from the towels and dental kit, so best if you bring or buy your own (there is a 7/11 nearby). Also there is no bidet, so please take note of that. They also provided wifi in the room, with it being 2-4mbps. Area-wise, this is a good place as there is a bus stop in the front and it is near a MRT station. It is also walking distance to Suntec (10 mins walk). There are also restaurants and cafes in the area and with the mall being nearby, it is accessible to plenty of food options. On my last day, check-out was also easy. Staff was still accommodating and helpful. In summary. would I recommend this place? If you are not picky with the facilities, cleanliness, and will be mostly will be exploring SG, this might be a good fit. Would I stay here again, definitely not. As wonderful are the staff are, the cleanliness was not up to par with my standards and the fact that some rooms are OK and some are not, would make me wary as there is a chance that I could get a bad room. I was fortunate that the room they transferred me to was vacant during my stay. SG is an expensive country but the money I spent for my stay in this hotel wasn't worth it.

Exceptional”
When visiting Singapore, Hotel 81 Bugis is one of the best places to stay. The price is reasonable; you can compare it yourself online. In terms of location, the hotel is very central and within walking distance of many places, including the Singapore National Building, the Bras Basa shopping complex, the Raffal Hotel, and the National Galleries of Singapore. If you need a drink or a snack in the middle of the night, there are 7-11 stores outside the hotel. Rooms have safes, hot and cold water for a good shower, and beds are very comfortable for a good night's sleep after a long day walking around the city. The staff is the best. They are always accessible, professional, friendly, and accommodating. I believe that the hotel's price, location, and, most importantly, the staff make it one of the best places for travellers to stay when visiting Singapore. Only 1 MRT exchange line from/to the airport. Close to MRT Bugis and bus stations. Hawker centers, restos, points of interest nearby. Friendly and helpful staff. Clean. No extra amenities and only basic toiletries are provided which is what you can expect for a hotel at this price range in SG. Overall a very pleasant stay. Perfect if you are looking for a place to sleep and clean up after exploring SG the whole day.
