Very accommodating and wonderful location ”
We got to stay in a room overlooking the canal which was simply wonderful! There were a few issues that came up that were solved promptly and without much hassle at all. I definitely recommend this hotel!

Great location. Ten minutes from train station and good for exploring. Staff helpful. Hotel spacious”
Bridge and canal right outside the door. In the heart of Venice and yet just on the edge so quiet. No bar but plenty of bars and restaurants right in doorstep. Spacious hotel. Would come back

Can’t complain ”
Hotel room small but who needs a large room when out all day. Bathroom sink was cracked but certainly didn’t bother us. Breakfast was superb, you can eat til you can eat no more. Staff friendly. Situation is ideal. Restaurants close by if you don’t want to walk to far home after dinner.

My husband had to go to the medical clinic to get ointment for bed bug bites. Not impressed considering the cost of the room. I would not recommend this place

Lovely Place by a Canal”
Our first trip to Venice couldn't have been better. We wanted to stay by a canal without paying a ridiculous high rate, so we found Hotel Al Sole. What a lovely place! Few blocks from the train station (about 10 min walk), close to nice restaurants, clean, comfortable rooms, good breakfast, wonderful staff. The front desk recommended a restaurant close to the hotel and we got a discount. The food was so delicious we ate most of our meals there. The last night we asked for another suggestion, which we also got a discount and the food was also very good. All I can say is that we had a lovely time and if we go back to Venice one day, Al Sole is where we will definitely stay. Thanks guys!

Nice hotel, clean, nice rooms and friendly staff”
this was our second time staying at the al sole hotel and it was just as nice this time as 2 years ago. the hotel is very clean and the rooms are a really nice size with very large bathrooms. great breakfast buffet and every staff member we encountered was friendly and helpful. even the cleaning staff greeted us with a hello, how are you every time they met us in the hall. we will definitely stay here our next time in venice and we have already recommended the al sole hotel to our friends.

Excellent service, value, location.. everything (2nd stay with Hotel Al Sole)”
This was my second stay at Hotel Al Sole and it was just as good as the forst time. the service was brilliant, the reception staff couldn't do more for you. the room was clean, cool and large. Breakfast was set indoors or out (although mind out for the pigeons, they're a little relentless). The location (for me) was ideal, 5 minutes walk from the bus terminal meant that you weren't lugging your bags over dozens of bridges and through narrow walkways amongst other tourists. After a full day/night of walking around Venice it was a nice place to come back to with pleasant staff and comfortable rooms (some with an awesome view). Would I recommend this... yes I would most definetely.

Excellent room, staff and location - I would definitely recommend to anyone”
from the moment we arrived early in the morning the staff were very friendly and accomodating. They gave loads of information regarding Venice (where to go, how and whats on). The room had aircon which we were thankful for and the breakfast area was just as it looked in the pictures we saw. perfect for a romantic start to the day. The benefit of the Hotel location was that it wasn't in a really busy area so not noisey at all and we had a room that over looked a canal. Upon arrival into Venice by bus the Hotel 5 minutes away and was easy to find which is saying something for Venice as it's like a maze (which is one of it's attractions) On our last day (we were leaving Venice in the evening) the hotel welcomed us to leave our bags with them whilst we had one last day seeing the sights before sadly leaving. Would I stay there again..? YES!!, without a doubt.

Good location - easy to find!”
The Hotel Al Sole is a lovely building. Located close to the bus and train station. Staff are very friendly and helpful. They offer a nice breakfast that you can enjoy in the garden courtyard. We found the shower a challenge as the temperature changed continually, but nothing that we couldn't manage. Everything was clean but our room had a disappointing view.

OK at best”
I'd rather try another than go back to Hotel Al Sole. 1) location is great if you're arriving by bus or train. Nothing in Venice is terribly far away, but it was great not having to carry our bags over too many bridges. 2) Before arrival, we requested an early check-in. They weren't able to accommodate it, but did offer to hold our bags while we explored Venice and caught breakfast & lunch. Meh. 3. Eventual check-in was easy and friendly. The lobby smelled weird, but most of Venice smells weird, so I didn't think anything of it. They "upgraded" us to a canal view room. Someone helped us to our room and showed us around. 4. The room. Oh, the room... It looked incredibly dingy and dark. It was outdated and uncomfortable. Bathroom/shower was dirty and coming apart. It was awful. How was this an upgrade?! The bed may have been the hardest bed I've ever slept on and there were no extra pillows. 5. Their free breakfast is meh. Decent except for the awful coffee. Not going back.

Very good”
We walked around 10mins from train station to hotel , although it’s just 10mins but u know the road at Venice can be so difficult to pull our luggage at those stone’s road ! The hotel upgraded our room , the room is much more better than I expected! We walk to st Marco everyday , the distance is around 30mins but I’m ok with it since I can walk around at those little shop along the way . Bed is clean , toilet with bathtub and very spacious . Before I came I read a lot of negative reviews about this hotel , honestly I’m so worry before I go . But at the end it turns out way better than I expected ! The building is old that is still acceptable for me as long as it’s clean .

secret gem in venice”
Beautiful old building, with a lovely inner garden for breakfast. We paid for "canal view" room, well worth it. Staff was superb, breakfast buffet was awesome (cold cuts, cheese, fruit, cereal, juices, anything coffee, breads/pastries, spreads, etc.) Room/bathroom clean but small (you're in Venice, duh), you only cross two bridges from the bus/train station. Highly recommended, would go back.

Within walking distance from the Port and the train station. It was a lovely space to stay while in Venice, within walking distance to everything that we wanted to see. The staff were exceptional and extremely helpful

nice clean room close to main train station”
the hotel is conveniently located close to the main train station with just a ten minutes walk, but take note that if you have big luggage bags it may not be easy to carry them to the hotel because you have to cross some high steps and bridges. the staff are friendly. the rooms are clean but the shower heads were faulty and we had to change room but the new room was fine. the morning buffet breakfast is good with wide selection of ham bread cereals yogurt fruits and juices. there are some nice restaurants conveniently located close to the hotel.

It was ok, but not great”
We stayed here for three nights in August in a Junior Suite. The hotel itself is probably overdue for a bit of an upgrade. It's about a 15 minute walk from the train station, and you have to cross two bridges. So if you have heavy luggage you will need to take this into consideration During our stay their WiFi was only working intermittently, which was a bit annoying, but not a major problem. Their are no facilities if you want to make yourself a cup of tea or coffee during your stay, but the staff were more than happy to fill up a thermos of hot water for us, as we had brought our own supplies. They do offer a complimentary boat ride to Murano, but this required a minimum of six people. So it was either a case of waiting until 10.30am to see if the required six people had been reached or buy your own boat ticket. We decided to buy our own ticket, as we didn't want to waste half the morning waiting to see if we were going to get the complimentary ride. Doubt we will ever be back to Venice, but if we did we probably wouldn't stay here again.

Good”
The hotel is conveniently placed from the main Venice station. Nice location on a canal and within easy walking distance to the vaporetto stops to visit all the Venice sights. Lovely outside garden breakfast area but a problem with pigeons on unattended plates etc. Room was satisfactory but shower riser was broken and kept slipping down (this was 'fixed' by sticky tape holding it in place) and on the last day shower valve was faulty and delivering intermittent cold and scolding water. Whole shower and cubicle needs updating. We would however recommend and our time there was pleasant.

Excellent”
Charming old building with a lovely interior garden area for breakfast. Although I had booked a garden view room, we were allocated a front room. The view over the canal with wisteria on the walls opposite was delightful so I didn't complain. However, it was noisy at night with the windows open and shutters closed so if you prefer sleep over a view, ask for a garden room! Breakfast was fine, coffee from the machine was good and croissants freshly baked. The situation of the hotel is excellent for getting to Pizzale Roma, the main bus and water bus terminus. Staff very helpful and readily offer advice on where to go to eat or visit. Would stay there again.
