This charming hotel is in a quiet, residential location, near the Vatican and just 100 yards from San Pietro Train Station. It offers a rich continental breakfast and a rooftop terrace overlooking St. Peter’s Basilica. The bright and airy rooms at Hotel Alessandrino have hardwood floors, satellite TV and a work desk. The bathrooms come with free toiletries. Some rooms also have a private balcony. Guests of the Alessandrino can enjoy drinks and snacks on the rooftop terrace, which comes with chairs, lounge chairs and sun umbrellas. There is also a bar serving snacks and refreshing drinks. Free Wi-Fi and a 24-hour front desk are among the amenities offered at the hotel. The friendly staff can recommend restaurants and places to visit. The Alessandrino is set at the top of a typical winding alley, and there is also a staircase providing direct access to the main road and bus stop.

Great place to stay when in Rome”
Our stay in Alessandrino was good. The hotel is located close to the St. Peter is easy to reach by public transport (and a small walk), has a wonderful terrace, provides a 'feel at home' atmosphere and has friendly and helpful (front desk) staff. The only (more or less) negative is the very basic breakfast. The rooms are relatively basic, yet provides all one needs. Good value for money and we would seriously consider this hotel next time when in Rome.
It was awesome hotel”
We really enjoy staying in this hotel. I can recommend view from roof and enjoying sunset there...
Secluded Hotel on a Hill”
Took us 4 hours walking and asking for directions to the hotel in the summer heat. Language and map were obstacles. Finally, took a cab from the main road to the hotel. Hotel staff not so friendly. Aircon does not work properly - only 2 settings - either very cold or just blowing air, and very noisy too.
Our stay. Was too short to commend”
Poor access room not high standard”
We did not consider hotel was value for money
Area is ok but not for older couples.”
ok not great as they are steep steps that you need to climb in order to get to the hotels. not for older couples with difficulty in walking
Good Location but small and old rooms”
The Hotel lies on a small mountain; there is no parking area available. The room is small and very old designed and furniture. Breakfast was in a small room with an even smaller selection.
great hotel very helpful staff”
We enjoyed our stay had trouble with wifi. Liked location.
Nice Hotel in a good location”
Very nice hotel in a great location and very quite district. Just 5 mins walking to Saint Peter place. Have a stop bus at 150 m to the hotel entrance. The breakfast is OK and the roof terrace wonderfull just front the dome of St Peter. Staff very nice and helpfull. Just a little weak point, the room was small.
Friendly, close to St. Peters, but remote.”
First, getting there: it is at the top of a winding hill, and autos/cabs aren't allowed up until after 5 pm. That's the only caution. And get a good map. Its street--Via Clemente Alessandrino--isn't on most maps--but it's atop a street called Monte de Gallo. Having said that (and by doing so warning off travelers who don't have moderately strong legs, or who are arriving midday, with lots of luggage)I would refer friends here. It's a good bargain--especially if you opt for the non-refundable rate...Friendly staff, good breakfast buffet, good proximity to the Vatican, a 20 minute walk to the nearest Metro, but the #64 bus comes every ten minutes and takes you everywhere. There are also two excellent culinary destinations on the avenue, Gregorio VII, below the hotel (right at the San Pietro Railroad Station). We had great meals at a place called Osteria Ponteficci (going in the opposite direction from the Vatican) and have dolci nearby at a pasticceria whose name I've forgotten, but which has a sign outside saying "We're on Facebook!" Try the mini casatinas. (They're unaware that the casatinas are mini casatina Palermitanas, but what can you do? they're probably from up north.)
Nice hotel but up on a hilly area”
Rooms very huge and clean. Breakfast was okay, enough to fill our stomachs for the 12hr-days in Rome. Only major disappointment is that the hotel is on a hill sloped area but there is a side road leading down to the main road where the Vatican city is. Quite a long walk to the Vatican and Metro(2km).
Lovely Hotel, good location”
hotel alessandrino is a good value for the money. it is located within walking distance to the vatican, many shops, restaurants and a bus stop that connects to the whole city. the rooms are rather small but i understand that that is the norm for rome. the hotel has lots of character and the included breakfast is amazing with a full buffet.
Great location and lovely hotel”
Very clean and friendly hotel staffs, very suitable for family stay in this hotel.
beautiful roof terrace, bit isolated and no bar”
looking forward to a drink, on arrival but disappointed as there did not seem to be a bar. night porter willing to offer a drink from the very limited stock in breakfast area, but not really what we were expecting. double room requested, with balcony and bath but room allocated double, no balcony and shower. bed extremely hard- asked for softer bed but was told all beds the same. neighbourhood lacking in bars/restaurants- quite a hike to get more than basics. nearest best restaurant goose, which was fantastic. hope they utilise the fabulous roof terrace more in the summer, and assume facilities increase during the season.
small romantic hotel”
friendly small hotel, romantic atmosphere, near the vatican (10.min by walk), near to railway station (5. min by walk), room was small, clean, nice, internet was in the room free of charge. personal was nice and friendly
Einfaches, zweckmaessiges Hotel ohne Bar”
Ansonsten einfache Zimmer, sauberes Bad.

Jó szálloda,nagy szobák”
A Vatikán tíz perc sétára van és onnan indulnak buszok a belváros felé,de laza sétával Róma hangulatos utcácskáin keresztül minden látnivaló rövid időn belül megközelíthető.Este már inkább taxival mentünk a szállásra, ami némi alkudozás után a capitóliumtól 15 euróért a szállodába vitt.A reggeli bőséges bár egyhangú. Parkolója nincs, illetve tudnak ajánlani parkolóházat plussz 30 euróért,és ez számunkra kellemetlen meglepetés volt mivel mi kocsival érkeztünk és előzetes foglalásunkban benne volt!
