Good”
Very good location. Near the train station and vaporetto station. Ample restaurants and shops within the area. The rooms are dated but very clean. Close as well to the airport bus transfer station.

Well...Venice!”
Rather small space, staff not very helpful & breakfast not really satisfactory. It looks nice when you come in but is not much more than a better hostel. You could call it overpriced for what it is but well...you are in Venice. Would not stay there again.

Definitely Not 4 Star”
From reading the reviews of Hotel Amadeus I knew not to expect a 4 star hotel but we thought the location seemed very good for our first trip to Venice and we don't expect much from a hotel anyway - as long as it's clean and comfortable. Unfortunately, Hotel Amadeus couldn't really do that. Location: The Hotel is located on a very convenient, albeit busy touristy, street of Venice, so it wasn't hard to find from our bus terminal. First Impressions of the Hotel: The walk into Hotel Amadeus seemed promising, very shiny and elegant (although it does reek of chlorine!) We were greeted by a very friendly man at reception. We were taken to our room by a bell boy (which we felt unnecessary - but hey! it is 4 star!) The Room's Location: Once we entered our room our hearts dropped a little. We had a "superior" room located above a busy restaurant on a very busy street. The view was okay from our window/balcony and the large windows let in a lot of light in. Unfortunately the location of our room meant that we we're kept awake late at night from the busy bars/restaurants below playing music and awoken early by said restaurant's deliveries and early risers to the streets of Venice - so ear plugs are a MUST! We did have a quick peek into a neighbouring room whilst the maid was cleaning and they had it worse off - dark, small and the window looked out onto a brick wall. Cleanliness: The room was not clean by any means. The shower head was disgusting and mouldy, the toilet was old and stained. The bedding had grey/black stains on it - I felt very uncomfortable sitting anywhere in the room for a long time and was paranoid that I was going to get bed bugs! We got a few insect bites on our first night and I was frantically googling bed bugs bite symptoms on my phone! The floor/carpet was ancient with stains - we didn't dare drop anything on the floor. I couldn't help imagine Gordon Ramsey going around the room and finding more awful stains with his UV light! Along with the

Arrived and told we were upgraded to the Principale with a view of Canal (a flat out lie). ”
Cons - Noisy hotel with unhelpful staff....please do not pick this hotel...very poor. Pros - Breakfast was well appointed and location near train station a plus.

Nice location but old and tiny room”
A romantic trip to Venice almost ruined by the small hotel room and mosquito attacks at night. Nothing like advertised. The good part of the hotel is the location that is 5 minutes from train station. Buffet breakfast was good. Staffs were helpful. If you have two luggages then the room would be too small for you.

Just ok”
Room comfortable but very tired and in need of refurbishing and bathroom more so. Great location close to station and waterbus to airport. Aircon just coped to keep room cool during our stay. Good breakfast selection and helpful staff made for a reasonable 4 nights but overall feel that the 4 star rating is not really justified as we expected a higher standard for the price paid.

Perfect hotel for weekend city break”
The hotel was clean and comfortable, the location is perfect just next to train and bus stations. Position is perfect for you walking into other districts allowing you to explore areas off the beaten track but is also close enough to St Marks square that you can easily walk to. Breakfast was ok, the hot option wasn't appealing personally, but there is plenty of cereal and pastries to ensure that you will not go hungry. All in all a great hotel to consider if booking a trip to Venice and one I would certainly use again.

Location tops everything”
Right next to the train station but not seedy. Breakfast buffet satisfactory. Rooms tiny, but that's Venice. Not a 4 star hotel, so definitely not worth what they charge.

Small and noisy”
For the two nights we were there we had someone walk in our room three times, once at 6am while sleeping. The rooms were very small and everything was very outdated, maybe just the bed/mattress itself was new. They still use old keys. I would not go to this hotel again. The best part of it was that you can have breakfast on the water but that's it.

Location”
Near Train Station, waterbus. No need to climb bridge stairs with huge bags. Price is reasonable. It is an old hotel, however lift is available. Toilet is clen. Hot and cold water is available. Staff is ok, one of them help us carrying our big bags to our room.

Loved the hotel. Two minutes walk from train station. ”
Fabulous breakfasts. Perfect location to start your stroll around this amazing city. Be careful of pickpockets. Be aware as in any city. Prices for items are much higher near popular tourist spots. Get prices then compare with smaller local shops. And don't forget to haggle. If you buy expensive items like good jewellery, make sure you get the required paperwork to claim your tax refund at airport as you leave the country. It's worth it. The shops will explain.

Convenient”
Breakfast buffet was well prepared and comfortable. Check in and concierge staff were excellent. Amadeus is located in high traffic tourist area and very close to the train station. Only negative observation is that the TV did not work but we were not there to watch TV..
