Dear Valued Guest, Thank you for your valuable feedback. We are sorry for the unfortunate that happened and delayed your check in time. We have taken your points into serious account and have added electric kettle and other necessary to make coffee. The air-cons are serviced at regular intervals and we are sorry that such a thing happened. We have looked into it and rectified the same. Regards, Team Hotel Arches.
Shit in the name of heritage!”
Please do not go for this hotel just because it has a great location! Being a pricy property, the room that you get in return has stinking washrooms, mosquito and pests (ours had lizards) and even the linen and towels were dusty and moist! The manager there (Mr. Neeraj) has no empathy for your concerns, and will simply say sorry, with meaning a word of it. Stay away from this if you don't want to loose money. Go for Old Courtyard or Forte Kochi

Beautiful and quaint hotel”
I was traveling to Fort Kochi with a friend for a short stay enroute to a wedding. Hotel Arches is a beautiful, quaint, and well-maintained hotel. Upon arrival we were greeted by warm and friendly staff with a welcome drink. Our room was clean, and bathroom spotless. The AC and fan worked, though the power generator occasionally went off for a minute or two (but this was the norm in a lot of other buildings I was in in that area. Nonetheless, I gave Facilities only 4 stars for this but it's only a slight annoyance that subsequently became endearing). On our last day in Fort Kochi, we had a late night flight. The hotel staff let us check-out way past our check-out time and allowed us the use of the restaurant bathroom, and hotel lounge. They tried in every way to make us comfortable. They also helped arrange our taxis to and from the hotel. Everything ran smoothly. The location of Hotel Arches is AWESOME. It's only steps away from streets after streets of hipster cafes, craft stores, and the beach. The hotel restaurant has excellent food, I think better than many of the restaurants in the area. I tried the breakfast masala and plain dosas (not listed on menu but available), Kerala chicken curry, Kerala fish curry, and the special Kerala fish grill wrapped in banana leave. All of them were delicious, and made with very high quality ingredients (chicken breast meat and chunky thick fish fillets were used). Although the weather was crappy when I was in Fort Kochi, the hospitality of the staff of Hotel Arches and the charm of the architecture made our stay an extremely pleasant one.

Great hotel, good location with amazing staff. ”
we were well greeted and presented with some drinks on arrival. we were then offered a late breakfast despite us only meant to be checking in that afternoon! we were then shown to the room which was very comfortable but a little basic yet that was fine for us. everything in the room was clean and in good condition. the hotel is well located with shops and plenty to see in the near by area. the staff on reception were very helpful with booking tours and making suggestions of places to visit. the best part of the hotel(other than the staff) was the beautiful restaurant roof terrace which on one side overlooks the rather pretty church. the food was well prepared and pretty good plus they were really accommodating with my girlfriend's strange food requests. and when she accidentally ordered something way too spicy for her, they were happy to allow her to order something else at no cost! daz who works in the restaurant was brilliant, always very charming, smiling and nothing was too much bother. when dining after dark a mosquito coil would always be placed by the table to keep you bite free (not that there were loads of mosquitoes about). when we came to leave, the hotel sorted out our transfers and at no cost! having stayed in a fair few 5 star hotels around the world i have never received the level of service that the hotel arches provided. this is all the more amazing given this is india where customer service(even in hotels)has not yet really caught on. having traveled around india a fair bit and dealing with quite a few rude receptionists, coming to the hotel arches was like a different world. i would recommended it to anyone wanting to stay in a comfortable and friendly place whilst visiting fort kochi.

Exceptional”
Hotel Arches is located in prime area at Fort Kochi, next to the princess street and the beach is just 5mins walk. We got our rooms with balcony. Nice to see the quaint street from the room. A special thanks to the manager Mr. Godsen for his warm welcome and cooperative behaviour. We coulnt manage time to try the food of their in house restaurant but heard its good. Negatives were breakfast was very basic, need to upgrade, and mosquitoes in the room. Even after spraying Baygon, mosquitoes were in the room. So that needs to taken care. Otherwise, hotel location and staff are very good.

Lovely hotel, great location”
this hotel was lovely. it had a great location, lots of restaurants around. the restaurant in the hotel was very good. the hotel itself appears to be one of the older colonial buildings, so the interiors of it were very nice. they had free wifi/lan cable in the rooms. the hotel arranged for a driver which took us around kochi and ernakulum (sp?). the driver was great and friendly. our only problem was with the so called 'travel desk'. there wasnt anyone actually sitting there. over the weekend the person at the main counter didnt give us very good advice on what to see/do in kochi. the main person in charge of the hotel seemed pretty on top of things though. would strongly recommend this place to anyone visiting kochi.

Very well located hotel, with lovely rooms.”
This is a very welll located hotel within the Cochin Fort area, close to the waterfront, shops and restaurants. The room was excellent with balcony overlooking the front street; very large, clean and well equipped. The staff were very welcoming, attentive and carried out all requests with a minimum of fuss, but quiet efficiency. Also, there is a restaurant on the roof terrace of the hotel with nice views of the surroundings. The food here was not only very good, but also very reasonably priced for the area, with a wide but clear selection of local fish dishes, aswell as European fare if required. There are more expensive hotels in the area, however for value for money, and the experience of a more expensive hotel it would be hard to pick a better spot than the Arches if you're looking to stay in the Fort Cochin area.

Clean, comfortable stay in a heritage building”
We loved our 2 night stay at the Hotel Arches. Check-in was quick and hassle-free. The hotel is well-maintained, the extensive woodwork gives a feel of luxury to the whole place. We stayed at the Nidra suite (#101) which is a pretty decent size with a separate sitting-dining area and 2 quaint balconies overlooking the quiet main road. Both the rooms are air-conditioned of course and well-appointed. There is a mini-fridge too. Free wi-fi is provided to all guests - but the speed can leave you frustrated. The bathroom is clean with 24 hour hot/cold water. There's a bath and a shower (the overhead shower did not work - could be a user issue, the hand shower worked fine). The hotel provides all basic toiletries. But no hair-dryer or tea-coffee maker in the room. The room service is quick and efficient, although we didn't use it much. Breakfast is included in the package and served at the roof top restaurant. We had the sumptuous English breakfast on both days and liked the quality and freshness of everything. There is another restaurant at the reception level but we didn't eat there as there are many great restaurants within walking distance. Checked the menu though - has a good selection of local and international dishes but a tad expensive by Kochi standards.

Good place to be with the family”
Location of the hotel is on the road side and is near to most of the must visited places. Fort Kochi beach is just 200 m from this hotel. The staffs are friendly. Rooms are clean and spacious. The attached restaurant serves really good food.

Great hotel in fantastic location”
A really nice little hotel in Kochi. Room was a decent size and the staff were very good. Location was excellent - just a block to the chinese fishing nets and all the shops. There was no bar fridge in the room but this would be my only complaint.

Awesome location! ”
Our stay at Hotel Arches was awesome. Check in was fast and easy. Breakfast on the room top patio was very peaceful and relaxing. The pineapple dosa was good! We had to go to the airport in the morning before the free breakfast was available and they packed us a breakfast to go. Free waters and a great location. Close to the action that we walked everywhere, yet far enough away to be quiet.

great location ”
We stayed for 2 nights at hotel arches, location was close to all the nice restaurants and.cafes, really easy to walk around. Room was clean and staff at front desk were helpful. The downside is the aircon unit was really noisy so we had to sleep with the fan.

Excellent Place”
We were not aware of how far it was from the airport, so getting there was tiring, but it was worth the trip. Simply because of the Fantastic Food. The restaurant "Rasoi" is an award-winning restaurant and it is excellent. Although only one staff understood Hindi/English, the service did not falter. The desserts can be improved upon, but that does not in any way detract from the service, food taste, and food quality. We stayed only for the one night, so unable to comment on the services of the hotel, except that it seems to be a house that has been renovated and converted into a hotel. Apparently, all the houses in that area have been converted into inns and hotels. That of course adds to the charm of the neighborhood. And it was nice, clean, and very welcoming.

Comfortable Hotel close to historical sights ”
Comfortable hotel, good value, close to historical sights in Fort Cochin. The hotel is a stone throws away from the major tourism spots like St Francis Church, Chinese fishing nets, Princess street and shopping area. Rooms are comfortable and good size. Has wifi connectivity. Bfast is limited, not a buffet, but good.

Great boutique hotel ”
Stay was good. Hotel is very small with only 10 rooms so its nice and quiet. The rooms are lovely and have a very traditional theme. The hotel is very well located and all the local sights are within walking distance. Staff were very helpful with booking theatre tickets, train tickets etc. The only problem we had during the stay was the poor wifi connection although this may have only been a problem in our room. We weren't massively bothered as the majority of local cafes and restaurants have free wifi available.

Above average”
Overall ok, location is great being around 2min walk to both St Francis Church and the Basilica. It's right beside Alice's Delices too, a cute french bakery. The breakfast offering was meagre (cereal, a bit of fruit, bread and jam, option of pancake & egg) for what we were paying (SGD120 a night, SGD150 after tax). Admittedly we'd go up to the roof near closing of the buffet (9.30am) but everything was always packed away like it was shut even though breakfast ended at 10am. Once i ordered a thosai, and it just never came. Our room, while decent/simple, looked out to a concrete wall and felt a bit dreary. It is a mostly decently clean hotel with most facilities met (wifi, tv, aircon, clean sheets and cleaning) but no frills either and i feel like for $100+ a night in Kochi, you could get better value elsewhere.
