Personal of this hotel require inform them all questions in advance. But they will not say important information like additional pay in advance to you. They will ask pay for additional day but will not prepare computer system to unblock door in this additional day. Breakfast included, but if you want to ask them about early breakfast before 8 a.m. (like sandwich wich you will make by yourself) they advice you to go to buy it somewhere else. Another one situation if you will not ask approximate wish of food: you will see 2 little pieces of cake. By the way this breakfast costs 7 euro if you buy it separate from room price. May be their kitchen can't work 24 hours. But it is not a problem for any other hotel with 4 stars to put out of fridge bread, ham and cheese and put it on the table. Cleanness is not good too. They change soap and garbage bag every day, but didn't wash towels not once for a week, also didn't wash floor not once for a week in hotel room.
Nice hotel, not-the-best location”
The property is modern, very clean with nice amenities. Frank, who works at the front desk in the morning, was a wonderful help. The drawback is the location. The neighborhood is marginal, which makes getting to restaurants a problem if you're walking, especially after dark. The first night, the night-desk receptionist booked us at a restaurant about 10 minutes away. I felt uneasy and conspicuous as we walked there and after dinner, our waiter walked us to a taxi stand next to a poorly lit square that was really seedy. Our taxi driver told us it was a dangerous area. A plus is that the Areos is a 5-minute walk to the hop on/off tour bus stop, which is in front of the National Archeological Museum (a must-see). Side note: If you're taking taxis in Athens, the drivers are notorious for ripping off passengers. If they don't turn on the meter, don't pay.
Well appointed and spotlessly clean. ”
Amazingly helpful front desk staff. Excellent breakfast included. Modern and well-designed rooms.
The place has it all ”
All pros...cons none.
We stayed 4 nights in the hotel and overall the stay was good. We booked including the breakfast. The staffs were very helpful with all our questions. If we may suggestl, it would be good to have a set of variation in the breakfast, as this was every day the same.
Smaller room then our previous stay at Hotel Areos, but the staff is top notch and very helpful and friendly. Complimentary breakfast is great and location is good. Only complaint is that the large bed was composed of 2 smaller mattresses that they put together to make 1 large bed. Everything is else is excellent.
Better than expected”
Lovely breakfast. Clean and good size room
Lovely staff and great hotel”
Had an accident while on holiday and staff provided great support during my stay there.
Nice hotel, nice breakfast. Good size room with a mini kitchen
The Areos hotel is located with a less than 10-minute walk from Victoria metro (train) station in the incredibly stimulating Exarchia neighborhood (the central square has brilliant coffee shops, bars and restaurants) of central Athens.. And the neighbourhood is a joy to walk through and explore. The staff at the Areos are fantastically and unfailingly helpful and cheerful. They pointed me to all the wonderful bars, cafes and restaurants in the neighborhood as well as in other proximate neighborhoods. The rooms come with a sizeable balcony to lounge on or just sit and get some sun or shade, whatever your preference. The rooms are also well-appointed with all the amenities one needs. Exarchia is a wonderful antitode to the frentic Monastiraki and Plaka neighbourhoods; yet it is within a 25-30 minute walk to both (or a 5 Euro cab ride.
Good place to stay”
This place is clean, modern looking, and convenient. While I was there I didn’t take public transportation so I can’t comment on that, but it was very close to Monastiraki by cab. I had a good view from my room and loved my spacious balcony. The WiFi was solid which was important to me as I was there for work. This isn’t a well known hotel among locals so I strongly suggest bringing the address written in Greek if you will be coming in from the airport. They have cards you can take from the front desk as well. Overall pleasant stay and I would stay here again.
Would Stay Again”
The hotel is tucked awayin a nice area of athens. Cafes, bakeries and the Metro is just a short walk away. Breakfast is included and is plentiful. The hotel rooms are clean but we had to ask for maid service. It may have been an oversight! Our room only came with a bathtub with a handheld sprayer. Needless to say i got water everywhere...lol. the two gentleman who worked the receptionist were wonderful. They were very helpful and gave us great advice. We would stay there again!!
Nice hotel, thoughtful modern design. Slightly shabby, for an authentic hip vibe. Convenient for the museum and Exarchia, if you like those sorts of things, I do. Would have been five stars but no safe in room, and bath not shower. Conversely vast terrace balcony with good view over city (probably paid slightly more for this). Good breakfast. Helpful staff. Good free Wi-fi. Very good value for money.
very good City Hotel in Athens, very Clean and the Staff is very Friendly. The Deluxe Double Room for us was fantastic.
I certainly would recommend Hotel Areos for your visit.
Clean, comfortable stay ”
We enjoyed our stay at Areos. We were greeted by a friendly, helpful staff member, had large, modern rooms (two for our family as rooms could only hold 3 max, so the price was very helpful!). Delicious breakfast with wide European selection, lively bar at night, close to restaurants, metro, famous sites.
Very nice stay in Athens”
This hotel is in an area to discover with plenty of nice good surprises!
Room was small but good for two. Breakfast was pretty good. Average distance to restaurants and bars.
GREAT LOCATION, FRIENDLY STAFF”
GREAT LOCATION, FRIENDLY STAFF, ROOM WAS CLEAN
Nice place to stay for 2 nights ”
The hotel is 10 min away from subway. Nothing to do around it, no bars or food places either. You'll have to walk pretty far. Staff is extremely helpful and friendly. Overall it's quite a good place for 2 nights.
