The staff are courteous and offer to pick and drop all your bags from the road to your room as there are a lot of stairs to climb.

Excellent place to hang out with friends”
This is our second time visit to the Hotel at the End of the Universe. The early morning view of the Mount Everest from the hotel lobby was awesome. Excellent location and cottages to hang out with friends. We enjoyed a lot. The cool breeze and the sound of sweetly swinging tree leaves was really peaceful. Last year the experience was good also. They renovated the hotel after the earthquake. Very nice cottages. Both the 2 rooms were nice and warm. But our toilet flusher was not working which was really frustrating. Room price was low but the food price was comparatively very high (had to pay almost 25% extra tax + service charges). Still I will highly recommend this hotel to visit. It is a good hotel to hangout with friends. Day time there is nothing to do in Nagarkot. If you are planning for one night stay at Nagarkot then this is the best place to stay.
Amazing service on a mountain top”
My friends and I had a really nice stay at the hotel at the end of the universe. We had a warm reception from the staff and prompt response to any requests. We were also delighted to jam out some music with the staff which was a beautiful insight into traditional song and dance of Nepal. This was not a performance but was a special encounter with people who love to share music like we do. The architecture of the modest yet comfortable rooms was amazing and they were presented very well and clean. Electricity was in and out but this did not detract from the experience, in contrast it enhanced our sense of escape from the busy-ness of Kathmandu. I would definitely recommend staying at this hotel if you are planning a trip to nagarkot.
This place is pure magic.”
Uniquely designed and surrounded by the peacefulness of the forest , this hotel made me feel completely relaxed as i spent hours reading out at the deck , watching the beautiful sunset. The restaurant also provides a very cozy environment equipped with games and books ensuring the guests never get bored or feel out of place. The staff are very friendly and this further improves the experience of staying here. If you're visiting Nagarkot , this is definitely the place to stay , for you'll experience magic here where it always feels like home. Oh, and the dog here is very frienslh and adorable too!
Great location, and wonderful staff!”
Wonderful, stayed for one night with 4 of my friends. As the main hotel was damaged/destroyed in the earthquake, the current lodgings/accommodations are quite out of the ordinary. We found our cabins to be very charming, and some of the other capsule and/or tent-cabin rooms to be quite inventive and fascinating. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and we had a wonderful time staying in Nagarkot for one night. Best of luck with your reconstruction, and hope to see you again in a few years!
Excellent stay”
We chhose this hotel, because we wanted to see the sunrise in Nagarkot. This hotel was a great choice because it is on the top of a hill and you feek directly relaxed, away from Kathmandu. The rooms are not that comfortable, but you sleep in a small cottage and you feel like in the countryside. The restaurant is nice decorated and the food is good. It is very cozy. It is really cheap.
Great location”
Beside the awesome name, this hotel is located in a great spot in Nagarkot. The cabins are spacious and comfortable. Great area to just walk around all day before going back to the main building for food and drinks. Staff was very nice and made my stay very comfortable.
Not fancy, but clean and cozy”
I stayed here two nights at the end of my one month solo journey to India and Nepal. The steps up to the hotel are brutal. They are all different sizes with no handrail at all, but with a break on the way up, I made it. The lodge was nice and cozy, plenty of tables with huge windows to see glimpses of the Himalayas when the fog/haze burns off. The food was good, nothing special but inexpensive and tasty. The power was out much of the time but they had a station in the lodge to recharge batteries that ran off the generator. There is free wifi but it only works in the lodge not in the rooms. My room was half of a cottage. It was a very clean, no frills room. The walls are very thin. The night that a couple stayed there, I could hear most every word they said. The room has a bamboo ceiling that made a plain room seem cozy and exotic. There is not a lot to do other than just enjoy the views and enjoy the quiet. It was a great way to end a amazing but hectic trip. If you don't need "fancy," I would highly recommend this hotel.
One of the best!”
This hotel in Nagarkot is one of the best. Staff are great. Food were nice. Wifi only available near the restaurant when we stayed. Overall experience was nice. Would love to comeback.
Peaceful environment, good location”
Stayed for a couple of nights in December 2014. The hotel is easily reached after a 10-15 minute walk from the last stop from Bhaktapur - Nagarkot public bus. The design of the hotel provides a very peaceful environment and the watch tower can be reached by an hour and a half walk. The rooms are nice, clean and comfortable, though it can get a bit cold in winter without proper clothing inside the rooms.
AMAZING LOCATION”
We took the suite room. It was the best in this hotel. The stars at night was amazing. It was just that the staff happened to tell the other group of friends staying with us that their booking was already paid for when the decided to cancel it. The staff kept the key and asked us for payment at the last day. If he was to be more clear of the terms in the start, and gave us the key although we decided not to use the room, no issue would have happened. Nonetheless, the place was good but there was no heater provided. Only electric blankets were provided, which did help a little considering the temperature at Nagarkot.
Close enough!”
While there are a couple of hotels just a bit closer to the "end of the world" ridge that overlooks the valleys lying before the Himalayas, we heard many of their guests gripe that they had not found this hotel first. By far they have the most attentive and friendly staff around and the views are just as stunning. We recommend the top floor suite in the main building, it's large enough for a school group but just as lovely for two. It also has a private balcony with the best view of the ridge line. *Walk downhill to the Sherpa Alpine Cottage restaurant for another nice view and meal
A pleasant hotel”
Pretty hotel, friendly staff, and good location. Glad we picked the End of the Universe.
Our stay at the hotel was fantastic.”
We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The location and the view from the hotel is superb. We also had passed the very quality leisure time in the hotel lounge when it was raining outside. The food was good so as the staffs of the hotel. The view from my room was excellent. Other that that they need to work on the toilets a bit which requires a renovation also.
Little getaway”
Travelled with a group of 4 twenty-somethings on a backpacking trip. Stayed overnight to get a glimpse of the Himalayas but, alas, the clouds were in the way. However, we enjoyed our little retreat to this mountain town and away from the hustle and bustle of the big city. Our cabin-like rooms amidst the forest were cozy. Food on site was tasty and reasonably priced. Not a lot of food options nearby the hotel. Be advised it's a bit of a hike up the stairs from the parking lot to the reception area.
Not quite at the end of the universe any more”
Our little cheaper room (8) was fine with a double bed. Bathroom out off the hall (shared by 2 rooms) was really good - clean, gas hot water... Views from the temple just above the hotel are good. Someone else is in the process of building a multi-storey hotel in front that will block some of the view in the next year or so - must be very annoying for an existing hotel! Staff were great, meals were fine, WiFi works in the main dining building even when mains power is off. WiFi does not quite reach to some accommodation (e.g. room 8). It kind-of just reached sometimes.
3 night visit ”
Arrived by local bus. Was dropped off in town. Hotel was approx 7min walk away (left at fork in road) uphill (but as to be expected in a mountain town), walk was pleasant. Hotel understandably (as with others in area) under alot of rebuilding works but the work never interrupted my sleep or spoilt enjoying sitting outside in day. Room was basic but clean and secure. Power in area was unreliable but generator at hotel was on during peak hours/evenings. Restaurant terrace and views (when clear) where stunning, beautiful place to sit and read. Food was good and staff were friendly and helpful :) Easy place to relax. Would recommend and I wish them all the best in their rebuilding works. Will look forward to returning one day when works complete :)
wonderful staff and place.”
Very good airport collection and wonderful safe driver to the hotel. Location is stunning, great views and a clear night ky. Buddha, the Barman was excellent...we walked to his village one day, about 2 hrs away. Many local walks from easy to a little difficult. Food was fresh and nourishing...try the bean soup mmmmm. All roome and cottages looked good, we had the top floor..sleeps 8 but just 2 of us...awesome night sky from your own balcony. Electricty cuts each day but they have mobile etc charging facilities in the main bar for residents. Will be back later this year as they are upgrading some rooms and extending the dining/bar area. The Owner is on site most days, lovely man and very informative of the area etc as all the staff are. Thanks for a wonderful stay.
Great location and staff”
The hotel is new, being rebuilt after the 2015 earthquake. The staff were all friendly and attentive. The owner is onsite and speaks perfect english. He is a great resource for information about the area and things to see and do. The view of the Himalaya mountains from the patio restaurant is spectacular. The food was good and prepared using purified water.
Beautiful location, very friendly helpful staff. ”
There are various styles of accommodation here. I was in in an adorable quirky cabin. The bathroom facilities were basic but the restaurant and foyer are great, especially in the evening where it’s a great place to hang out and meet people. The hotel also supports a school and other charities. There is also a fantastic circular walk around the village. I thoroughly recommend this place
Did not want to leave”
This was my kids favorite hotel. We had a huge room with an exta bedroom. We tried other restaurants but this was the best. The staff is helpful and kind. It really does get cold at night and has no heat. Hot water bottles were provided and made a huge difference.
