Great Hotel in Rio for the price”

The hotel is a short walk to Copacabana Beach, along the way you can stop off and do some shopping along Rua Barata Ribeiro and Av N.S. De Copacabana streets. Across the road is the metro subway station, which can be used for getting around Rio, it is very cheap. We found it very clean and safe to use. It was not a difficult subway to use, as all the trains have station guides near the doors. Also outside the hotel is a Juice bar, where you can get just about anything you want in the way of a juice. It also offers some snack food. There is a supermarket just a block down the road where you can purchase water, snacks and lots of other items. Would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Atlantico Copacabana”

--right in Copacabana --moderately priced --attentive staff
--not glamorous

I have stayed at the Atlantico Copacabana many times, this being the first through Agoda. It isn't fancy, but then again it is right in the middle of Copacabana and you don't want to spend that much time there anyway. Excellent breakfast included in the morning and very close to the METRO rail line. A little noisy if your room is floor 6 or below, as all standard rooms face the street. It is the location which is key for this property

Pleasant and comfortable..”

Friendly and helping staff, clean and hygienic rooms, excellent breakfast, centrally located, close to beach, public transport availability at all times.

Nice and comfortable, I was given early check-in as requested, thanks to Agoda and the front desk staff at Atlantico Copacabana Hotel. Very understanding and helpful young gentleman at the reception who could communicate in English.

great staff”

Good location, close to the beach and the metro. The staff is very helpful and English speaking.
Some of the newer rooms are small, and the ones close to the elevators are noisy.

I really like the breakfast and the pool and small workout room on the 14th floor. The two elevators do not always both work, and this causes a real delay in getting up and down. When you are in the shower you can hear clearly everything said in the next rooms bathroom--so they can also hear you. Really like the staff at the front desk, who speak many languages and are very helpful as you find your way around Rio de Janeiro. The Metro being directly across the street is very helpful. Plus, there are a varity of restuarants in the area in all price ranges. The hotel is very 1980's, but there are three new rooms on every floor--although they are a little small. I feel safe in the hotel, and find the atmosphere very comfortable.

Atlantico Copacabana Hotel in Rio”

Big clean room; great staff; great buffet breakfast
7 min by walk to Copacabana beach

We liked this hotel. This hotel locates in center of Copacabana, but it is not beach front. It takes around 7 min to reach beach area. The staff was great. The room was big enough. Buffet breakfast was great. The hotel has small pool in the roof. Internet is not free, and costs 15 R for all day.I think this hotel is good for this money.

A friendly place”

Good location across subway station, though not at the beach, but not very far. Very friendly staff. Great free breakfast.
A little noisy. High speed internet connection available, but too expensive if you pay per-minute.

Atlantico Copacabana hotel is a very friendly place to stay at if you do not care about being directly at the beach. The staff is very friendly. The subway station is across the street. Good restaurants and shops are close-by.

reasonable price and value”

inexpensive, good value, convenient location
a bit outdated, exerecise area inadequate

The Atlantico is a good, reasonably priced hotel in Copacabana. It is directly across the street from the Siqueira Campos metro stop and four blocks from the beach, convenient to manner inexpensive restaurants. The staff is friendly and eager to help. The breakfast is about average for Brazil--good choice but not exceptional. The pool on the roof is small and the fitness equipment is "basic".

Good location, decent hotel”

Directly opposite metro station, minutes from Copacabana beach, great breakfast
No cons - just don't expect top end luxury at this price.

Good value considering it's location and price. Couldn't really fault anything but don't expect luxury. Don't get me wrong - a good, well-priced hotel that served as an excellent base for us. There was a separate sitting area part of the room which made it feel a bit like a 'suite' but without kitchen facilities! Felt really safe walking to, from and around the hotel both day and night although we did not venture out after midnight on any evening. Would definitely recommend this hotel for location and value for money.

rooms are small and some are a bit dated

this is the 4th or 5th visit to the hotel atlantico its my usual stop off when i am in town for a short stay or in this case waiting for a rental apartment to open up i have also used agoda the last 2-3 stays as their prices are the best and have never had a glitch with the checkin

Location. Friendly staff.

i have stayed many times in this hotel over the last 10 years. they remodeled many rooms recently making them smaller. like all hotels in rio their rate is also constantly going up. but as before their staff is very friendly, and the location is excellent if you do not want to be directly on the beach.. the hotel is roughly 5 minutes walk from copacabana beach ..

the hotel is quite old...

the Copacabana beach is less then 10min walk away and there are several shops, supermarkets and snack bars on the way from the hotel to the beach. The Metro station is just across the road and that's a good way to move around Rio without depending on the taxis...

Rio at its best”

Location, location, location.

The hotel is very conveniently located - walking distance from the beach and at the intersection of very lively streets. The receptionists at the reception desk are very helpful and friendly. They offered us towels on the last day (AFTER checking out) to use at the beach. We stayed there only 2 days but due to the good suggestions from a receptionist on the first night we made the main attractions (Curcevado and the Shugar Loaf Mountain) during our one-day sightseeing. The driver offered by the hotel was also friendly but perhaps a bit more expensive than if we were to use the meter taxis. The same receptionist gave a recommendation for a good restaurant not too far from the hotel. We also liked the fact that there are many great snack and juice places right next to the hotel.

Great location but with average service”

Close to copacabana beach.

The hotel has pretty old rooms and the safety box provided does not seem very reliable. Guests have to pay deposit/certain amount in order to get a key for the safety box which i find extremely unreasonable especially when Atlantico claims itself as a 4 star hotel. I asked for no housekeeping for the first day due to jetlag and wanted to have a good rest badly. However, housekeeper still came and it woke me up from sleep. It makes me wonder if the hotel receptionist actually take note of what I said. The room that I stayed was at the corner and wireless network could not be detected. Not to mention, no free wifi is provided which is rather disappointing and inconvenient. Lastly, breakfast provided does not meet my expectations at all.

Worked out fine”

Cheaper than hotels onthe beach, but not a far walk. Across the street from a subway stop. A block from L'uomo.
You have to pay extra to use the room safe. They have a computer on the internet but charge prohibitively to use it. The elevators are slow and sometimes don't stop but just go past your floor.

The subway stop is across the street, allowing easy access to most of the city. They have a tour desk and you can book a tour to see the big sites. The tour picks you up at the hotel. I saw nothing that looked unsafe in early evening--people were out doing grocery stopping and street vendors are set up on the sidewalks. I walked around as late as 8:30 or 9 PM with no hesitation. Plenty of restaurants in the area. You can walk to Copacabana beach in just a few minutes.

Good”

I have been going to the Atlantico for many years, this time around I was disappointed with the bed linen, old and very worn, the shower was difficult to shower in as the water kept going from cold to hot and there was smell of dampness it the shower....Very disappointing was the restaurant, both mornings when I went down the floor in the restaurant was dirty and sticky, I had to move tables twice due to small ants, these 2 concerns are very important to me as they are part of ones comfort when staying at a hotel, I will return with the hope that these concerns are addressed
