Nice stay”
The hotel is a nice choice of its category. Situated on a very strategic place - close to Santa Lucia train station, Piazzale Roma and vaporetto stop, in a busy area. Safe neighbourhood for solo travelers. They have single room (which on my opinion is a rarity) - very small, but well equiped and comfortable. The room's window was facing a wall, but the room had airconditioner which was working very well (if you have been in Venice during the heat waves, you will understand why I am mentioning that as a big plus). Some parts of the room seemed renovated and some still need some renovation, but the overall impression is that even the older parts are clean. The breakfast was good and is a great feature, especially when your daily program is busy from the morning. I would stay again in Belle Époque hotel.
A Terrible Experience in Venice”
I recently stayed at this so-called 3-star hotel in Venice, and it was an absolute nightmare. From the moment I stepped into the room, it felt like I had walked straight into a haunted house. The dreary color tones and ominous atmosphere, in addition to the dimmed lights, made the room feel more like a dungeon than a place to relax. To make matters worse, the elevator was completely out of service during our stay, forcing us to lug our heavy luggage up multiple flights of stairs. This was an exhausting and frustrating experience, especially after a long day of exploring the city. Once we finally made it to our room, the troubles continued. The air conditioning was unbearably noisy and impossible to adjust, leaving us sweltering through the night. I also developed some skin irritations, likely due to the unclean carpet or bedding. The bathroom was equally disappointing, with a half-broken toilet flush that exposed the interior mechanisms. The hair dryer also refused to work, making getting ready in the morning a real challenge. The only redeeming qualities of this hotel were the free breakfast and the relatively reasonable price point. However, these small perks cannot make up for the overall subpar experience. This hotel is nowhere near the quality one would expect from a 3-star establishment. In summary, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Venice. The numerous issues we encountered made for a truly haunting experience that put a significant damper on our trip. If you're looking for a comfortable and well-functioning place to stay, I suggest exploring other options in the area.
I Wouldn't Again”
We only stayed 2 days as we were just passing through. The location is great, right next to the trains and taxi's, plenty of places to shop, see, and eat but the hotel itself is lacking. The young lady at the front desk with the long straight hair is quite rude when checking people in and if you ask for any assistance. Her dislike for her job is extremely apparent. The night woman was much better though she only spoke Italian. The room we stayed in smelled of serious mold/mildew and the lower portion of the fabric walls shown signs of flooding. The room should have been remediate before allowing guests to stay. You have to ask for the air conditioning to be put on as the front desk controls the temperature of your room and there is 1 iron for the entire hotel. The televisions are not smart and so you cannot watch the news or Netflix etc. Everything on is an infomercial and in italian.
Terrible Experience and Operational Failures: ”
My colleague's recent stay at this hotel for 2 nights, booked for her business meeting nearby, was marked by significant disappointments. The hotel's interior and amenities appeared outdated and lacked modernization, reflecting a need for renovation. One notable inconvenience was the use of physical keys instead of keycards for the door locks, adding unnecessary complexity to the stay. When my colleague forgot her key and sought assistance from the reception, she was handed two bulky key rings, each containing approximately 15 keys, and instructed to try opening the door herself. This cumbersome process required her to test nearly 30 keys before realising that none of them were the correct fit for her room. Upon returning to the reception for help, she was provided with a third set of keys to try. It seemed the staff were aware of which set would work, raising suspicions of intentional complications in the situation. Furthermore, when she inquired about using the lift due to her large suitcase, she was informed that no lift could be provided. However, the following day, she observed Western guests and other customers freely using the lift, leading to concerns about potential discriminatory practices that restricted Asians from utilising the lift. It is disheartening to note that regardless of whether Asians are residents of Europe or visitors from Asia, they should not have to endure different levels of service, attitudes, and terrible experiences at this hotel. The inconsistent treatment and lack of respect shown towards individuals of Asian descent is unacceptable and highlights a larger issue of discrimination within the establishment. I strongly believe that involving a third-party platform like Agoda could help investigate these issues and provide a transparent justification for the experiences my colleague faced. Their intervention could shed light on any discriminatory behaviours and operational deficiencies at the hotel, ensuring accountability and addressing such concerns effectively. Overall, my colleague's stay at this hotel was overshadowed by frustrating encounters and a lack of professionalism. I strongly advise against booking this establishment, particularly if you or your colleagues are of Asian descent. The inability of the staff to distinguish between Asians residing in Europe and those from Asia raises serious concerns about discriminatory treatment solely based on appearance.
Unrecommended ”
The only positive thing is that within 2 min from Santa Lucia train station. The facility is extremely old and dirty the dust is everywhere around the corridors, rooms very small, just one towel, no iron and it's not allowed to be used if you have, staff not friendly.
