Convenient and ”
Pros - very close to the main train station that going around Rome was easier because all subways goes through Roma Termini. Do not let the location outsid put you off. Once you get in you will find that you did find a decent place. It has most of what you need. Even some extras such as locker. They have a mini cooler which will keep some of your groceries that requires to be fresh. They also have a kettle, so at least you can manage to make your own tea/coffee. Rather than venturing to the restaurants and cafes that are just everywhere in the area. Place is quite clean with quite welcoming staff. Their breakfast is also quite decent for only €5. The only thing I worry about is the air condition as we have put it on the lowest and yet the room does not cool much. We came in Spring so it was not to warm. It might be quite hot in Summer. I would recommend Hotel California though, worth the amount I paid for 3 guests.

We stayed for 7 nights. Hotel is about a 5 minute walk from Termini Station!!! Lots of restaurants in the area. The building is a little run down. There are different hotels in the building. California is on the 4 and 5 floors. Our room was on the 4th floor. We had a triple, which was spacious enough. The AC worked very well!! Adequate breakfast was provided. Staff was courteous. The only issue for our stay was the very poor WiFi.

Extremely loud bathroom fan, sounds like its broken but is "normal"”
This is a dated hotel with a nicely renovated bathroom, however, once the bathroom ventilation fan is turned on for a few minutes, it makes an extremely loud, terrible noise that is apparently normal according to the reception staff. It sounds like drilling, construction noise which was scary when the noise first started and I couldn't identify what it was. Unfortunately the hotel was full and I couldn't move to a different room due to this issue. The room itself was adequately clean. I think the old furniture and bedding makes it feel like it's not pristine clean. The bed sheets had slight stains on them (dirt marks). Location is convenient. Short walk to the train station and plenty of restaurants around.

This is our 2nd- time stayed in Hotel California Rome, pros: great location and friendly staff. Cons: the design of the shower and drainage. If you compare the facilities and design of the Japanese hotel, they are the best. The shower door of this hotel couldn't close and water leaking from the side. The edge of the shower stall is not hight enough to stop the water leaking out. You can see the bathroom door bottom part is all damaged. As a loyalty customer, I want to see you'll have a good business in the future.

By day the area was sketchy at best. By night it was not good at all. My son went out in the evening and was hit on by several prostitutes. There were very sketchy characters all over that area. It did not feel safe at night. The room in itself seemed okay, but my daughter said she found several hairs in the bed (which she then refused to sleep in). I personally didn’t think the room was dirty, but I also don’t look at places that carefully. The area alone was a “no” for me.

I recommended our friend to book this Hotel this trip. Location is the pros, but the condition of the room was not as what they expect. The room is on the 1st floor, not renovated like ours, the phone charger is not working. The room key is an extremely old style and heavy, you have to leave it at the front desk. Looking forward to seeing some improvement, and have us come back in the future.

Great location, that’s about it. Was charged 1 euro each for sugar and teabags. No tea spoons, dusty worn curtains in the room. Shower was at legs level so was impossible to shower, bath was filthy when spa turned on. Was one of the worst hotels I’ve ever stayed at. Lift your game hotel California 👎
