Stayed 2 nights in December 2011, booked 3 rooms - all the rooms are different. The rooms are comfortable, clean and spacious. Free computer usage with internet connection (a bit slow though) in the room. The staff are friendly and helpful. Fast service during check in. Great location, at the end of Beijing Road, one of the shopping havens in Guangzhou. A nice walk along the road would bring you to Tianzi Wharf, where one can go for the Pearl River Cruise (around 20 to 30mins walk). Along Beijing Road you can find lots of shops selling clothes, bags and shoes, and many eateries too. As it is located in Yuexiu District, many of the attractions of Guangzhou are not very far. Highly recommend this hotel to all travelers.

Satisfied Customer of Hotel Canton”
I paid a less than 100 RMB from the airport going to the hotel. The travel time took a little over an hour. I found out later that if I had arrived earlier, it would have taken a longer time as the traffic would have been heavier. In the hotel counter, I found the receptionist very helpful, and can carry a conversation in English. I was also glad that there is a store inside the hotel that sells mobile phone credits. My bedroom was decent enough. For the money I paid, it could have been better. While I mentioned that the TV in the room needs to be upgraded to LCD, I did not use it since I always log into the internet using the laptop I brought with me. The internet connection, while it works, can be trying at times as the connection seems to fail every once in a while - and no, I am not visiting sites blocked by the Great Firewall of China. The location of the hotel, I suppose, is its best feature. Going out of the compound from the 2nd floor, and turning left, is the famous Beijing Road. Good for people who loves shopping for clothes. Anyway, I was in Guangzhou for business so the only time I really walked along Beijing Road was to buy extra clothes because it was too cold while I was there... and I did not bring enough clothes. Back to Hotel Canton, the restaurant in the ... 1st floor, the Food Street, they do serve good food... and expensive too - but hey, which hotel serves cheap food anyway? Overall, I enjoyed my stay at Hotel Canton. Would I return to this hotel in the future? Perhaps if I bring my family and my wife would like to go shopping, yes.

Hotel Canton - good value”
Hotel Canton is a modern, comfortable hotel situated at the northern end of Beijing Lu, the major walking shopping district. Everything about it was fine - rooms well appointed, staff helpful and able to assist foreigners (even bell boys spoke good English). Typical breakfast buffet (68rmb if not included in your reservation) with mix of Chinese and western foods. I enjoyed my stay there and the location close to the shopping district of Beijing Lu - which is quite a scene day and night, full of local people enjoying a stroll on the street with no traffic and lots of modern shops (mostly clothing, some department stores and restaurants). You can walk down one of the side streets off Beijing Lu to find many restaurants. Walk all the way down Beijing Lu - about 1 kilometer - to find the river, with more in the way of nightlife beyond shopping.

Hotel I will recommend to friends”
This is the third time my husband and I stayed in this hotel, but was our first time booking the hotel online via Agoda for our free and easy holidays with my sister’s family – all together 4 adults and 1 child. We were upgraded from Standard Twin to Deluxe Twin for free for our stay as we booked the hotel during the Agoda special offer. Upon checking in, we decided to extend our 2 nights booking as our flight was in midnight. We were able to extend a half day stay (charged half of the daily rate) – the hotel staff was kind enough to allow us to have the room for additional hour up till 8.00 pm upon our special request. The Deluxe Twin was spacious, but the room at the corner was a bit smaller than others. Location of the hotel is good. If you take a lift to the 2nd floor, where the hotel lobby is, you can access to Beijing Road (shopping area) after walking through a slope. If you go to 1st floor, you will be at Yue Hua Road. Taxi can go by Beijing road, go up to the slope and drop you at the Hotel main entrance, or by Yue Hua Road, you just need to take a lift up to 2nd floor to the hotel lobby. Good to tell the taxi driver the address of the Hotel, as the driver of the taxi we took was confused that with 广州宾馆。 Everything was fine – staff, service, room. The Hotel staff helped my brother-in-law to mail a golf club to other province in China, and it costs only RMB 28. We did not try the restaurants in the Hotel. We went to a restaurant (I think the name is 天极品) in Zhujiang International Mansion. You can take a short walk there from Hotel via Yue Hua Road. The food and service was good in this nice restaurant. We also loved the restaurant 太平馆, which was just a short walk from Hotel along the Beijing Road. All in all, we enjoyed our stay, with lots of shopping!

Great Hotel and fantastic location!”
Recently stayed in GZ for about 1 weeek during the canton trade fair and found this to be exceptional. The location was close to the fair and Haizhu marketplace. The security was great and felt VERY safe easy to to find most any kind of food within the walk from the hotel to "peoples park" in Guangzhou. I hope you enjoy your stay as much as me and my group did we booked a few rooms and will stay there again in the springtime or earlier if I get to GZ sooner.

Excellent hotel near Beijing Lu”
We stayed at Hotel Canton for 12 days and everything was OK. It is centrally located: close to Beijing Lu, MRT and bus stations as well as many tourist attractions (Sun Yat Sen memorial Hall, Chen Clan Academy, 6 Banyan tree temple, Yuexiu Park, etc). The hotel is very quiet though a few minutes walk to Beijing Lu. We got a large room but unfortunately a smoking room though we had asked for a non smoking one.

Shopping in Guangzhou & Zhuhai 19-25/5/2010”
My sister and I travelled together on free and easy. We landed at Macau on 19/5/2010 and stayed in Zhuhai for one night. We checked in to Hotel Canton on 20/5/2010 and checked out on 22/5/2010.The room is clean and we were upgraded for free to a twin queen bed room(for 4 pax). The hotel is very near to Beijing Road so we can have our shopping everyday. I will stay in this hotel again if I were to travel to Guangzhou in future.

Beyond Expectation”
My family were very happy with the hotel conditions, either room, bed and etc. Especially my son, he swam everyday (but don't forget to bring your own swimming cap). Gym next to the pool is also pretty good (lots of equipment). Staffs were very friendly and helpful. My guess, 1 out of 3 are able to communicate with you in English. You can ask for some information i.e place to go, to shop, or to eat. You can also request for a city map from concierge and better ask them to write your destination in English. The location is superb. As soon as you go out from hotel zone, the pedestrian (Beijing Road) street is in front of you. More surprisingly, when we came back in the evening of Oct 3, maid was giving us a moon cake as a complimentary. I'll stay here for sure if I'm back to Guangzhou

Stayed at Hotel Canto Guangzhou for 1 night. Fabulous price for a hotel in its location (on Beijing Road, the longest pedestrian shopping street in Guangzhou). The hotel has a spa centre on level 5 that provides massages and spa treatments at reasonable prices, and stays open until 2am if you are tired after a whole day's shopping. Check-in and check-out are a breeze.

Staying at Hotel Canton during the Fair on April ”
General speaking, our stay at the Hotel Canton was ok. The main reason we stayed there was because the Hotel participated as a cooperation hotel during the Canton Fair, which mean, that it had transportation and complete information about it. Besides, the Beijing road was almost in front of the hotel, where you can walk around and appreciate the people, the stores anf of course, go shopping.... We sincereley recommend this hotel. we will stay at the next time we visit Guangzhou.

Nice Hotel”
Our room was clean and huge but the air conditioning unit would suddenly become too warm at night and the safe in our room wasn't working. The staff we interacted with spoke just basic English except for the receptionist on duty on the night we checked-in. The hotel is near Beijing Road where there are lots of restaurants, dept. stores and malls so it's quite convenient. However, it's a 10-15 minute walk to the nearest subway. If you want to shop for cheap stuff (clothes, accessories, bags, toys, gifts etc.) better stay at a hotel near Guangzhou Railway Station or Haizhu Square. This hotel as well as other hotels double even triple their rates during the Canton Fair so if your purpose is to sightsee or shop and not to attend the Canton Fair, I suggest you not go to Guangzhou during the Fair which is held twice a year (mid Oct.-early Nov. and mid April- early May).

1) Service is very good, all the hotel staff are trying their best to satisfy your needs, even better than international hotel chain. 2) Location is very good, near the Beijing Road, where you can shop and eat around the area. 3) Computer w/free internet 4) Massage in the 5th floor is very good, though a little pricey, just get the foot massage which cost you around RMB68.00 including back massage 5)Bus is available from Hotel to Canton fair and vice versa

A little old, but still sufficient”
Hotel Canton is *not* known as "Hotel Canton" in Guangzhou but as "Hotel Guangzhou". The taxi driver was not able to find the fairly big hotel on his own, instead I had to show him the way to the hotel with help of the GPS on my mobile phone. The size of our Standard Twin Room was very spacious and also included a sofa and a small table - and the room still felt big (which is nice). The biggest drawback was the very old and kinda dirty looking carpet. But we were provided with disposable slippers. The beds are a little hard for Westerners, but seems very normal for Chinese. The drain of the baisin didnt drain very well, but was cleaned very well every day. There was no weird smell whatsoever in neither the bedroom nor the bathroom. The busboy was very attentive and immediately got our suitcases when we got out of our taxi to bring them up to our room. The receptionists did speak English, althouh not very well. But they did their job in a reasonable amount of time.

The location is near the shopping spot, near the "beijing lu" that very crowded at night, It's a pleasure to shopping at that area. the hotel staff was quite friendly, although they cannot speak english fluently. the room is quite good and clean. we will stay here again if we visiting guangzhou.

I was actually expecting two single bed for the twin bed room but when I got to the room it was actually like two (almost) queen-sized beds?? Really happy with the cleanliness of the room too, free toiletries and two small mineral water bottles provided for free. There's two entrance to the hotel, one by Yuehua road and one to Beijing road which is ultra convenient, nearest metro is about a 7 mins walk away to Gongyuanqian. A minimart located just right beside the hotel (by Beijing road exit). Definitely worth our SGD$86/night for this 4-star hotel!!! :-)

It was a pleasant stay. The room was spacious, bed was huge for a standard single bed. Tasty breakfast with huge variation of foods. Hotel is located just a few steps to Beijing road, the famoust shopping street in Guangzhou. Nice out door swimming pool and gym in hotel. Internet does not work to fast. WiFi is available only in a few places and work terrible slow. Staff is very polite and helpfull.

I stay at the 27th storey. The room have a very good scenery view of the whole Guangzhou. The room is big, clean and with comfortable beds. Location is good. Very near to the shopping market streets and the attraction places like Six Banyan Temple, Yuexiu Park etc. I would recommend this hotel to my friends whoever visiting Guangzhou. Perfect for family.

Fantastic Hotel”
It took us a while to find the hotel entrance. There was 2 entrance and we climbed the slope upwards before we reach the hotel lobby on the 2nd floor. We arrive at the hotel and after producing the Agoda voucher, the staff recognised it immediate and the check-in only took us minutes. We find comfort in our room. It is clean and the bed is not as hard as we've imagined. The toilet is clean and the toiletries are replaced daily without fail. Our room had a good view of Beijing road which is the shopping street and it only took us 15mins to walk there leisurely. We can find good food served round the corner near the bus station nearby close to the park where it is bustling with activities every day. We had breakfast once in the hotel and the food is nice but expensive. We enjoyed our stay because of the comfort we find in our hotel stay.

this hotel located in good location near shooping street beijing road and near metro station: gongyuanqian. hotel's staff are welcome all guests. good service mind. girl at lift always greeting to all guests who use it. all staffs alway smile and greeting to all guest. they are active to answer all your questions. at hotel travel travel agency also good service. back of hotel also have local fresh market that you can buy food or fruit in cheaper price than in beijing road. welcome drink also free available for all guests at hotel bar. 2 bottles of water free everyday. will come back to stat again
