Good Family Hotel”
We as a family went to Kota Kinabalu. The hotel is not bad. It has a big room. So, enough for me and my family. The hotel staffs are very friendly and helpful. We are not really familiar with this area and the staffs showed us the direction. Food surrounding this area is not bad. There are quite a number of local food stalls. I would recommend this hotel to my friends and relatives. It is perfectly good for a family trip and all fun experiences in Kota Kinabalu.
I've experienced a great trip during I'm in Kota Kinabalu. Hotel Capital provide us an easy access to the Kota Kinabalu town, most of the major tourist attraction is just within a walking distance. Just name it, banks, shopping malls, Jesselton Jetty, the famous Philipino market, Sunday Gaya market, Craft centre and wet market (world of seafood). It is an improvement if Hotel Capital can provide a parking space for those customer with a vehicle for security purposes.
My girlfriend and I stayed in Hotel Capital for 2 nights during our TMBT event over the weekend. The location was located in downtown KK and central to Suria Mall and the various recommended eats in the vicinity. We kept our expectations moderate knowing that the hotel was fairly dated however they did a great job during the recent renovation and we were pleasantly surprised. Rooms were decently sized, great showers and had all the necessary fixtures travellers require for a hotel. Will not hesitate to stay here again in future!
a very nice hotel with great location!”
We had an enjoyable stay at Hotel Capital. The staff are very friendly and most of them speaks english. Everyone are very willing to assist the guests. Just bring toothbrush and toothpaste because they don't provide that. There was no hair dryer also but maybe it will be provided if you ask for it. There are three of us who stayed in the room but only two sets of towels and two bottles of mineral water were provided. My reservation was for three people so I was expecting that towels and complementary mineral water will be provided for three.
Nice and comfortable Hotel”
Nice renovated hotel with adequate facilities like controllable air conditioner, many electric soket, strategic light setting (for reading at the table or bed), tv, clean separate washroom and shower room, . No smoking smell. Strategic hotel location near to Suria and just opposite Merdeka Square. Near to Kinabalu Daya Hotel where I took IELTS. Surely I will come again in the future!
Lovely hotel with friendly staff”
Comfortable, and clean room. Staff was polite, helpful and knew what a smile could do unlike the other hotel prior to my moving over. That hotel though more expensive had the worst staff ever. Here at Capital, they gave me an ocean view room on a no smoking floor all the way up on the 10 floor. So all in all I had a great room without my asking for it. Wonderful.
Great Value - Friendly Service - Good Location”
The location of Hotel Capital is great for those who will be making a regular trip to the Jesselton Point (Ferry/Boat Jetty Terminal) - The walk only takes less than 10 mins. It is also close to a number of local/tourist food and shopping venues. The staff were very friendly and helpful to a number of requests. There is a good view for the ocean facing rooms.
Affordable place to stay with great surroundings ”
Located in the heart of kota kinabalu main city center. Walking distance to major shopping mall. Just done have bfast provided, but hotel is newly furbished nice view.
Very good place to stay”
Value for money definitely. Big clean rooms (encountered only one grouchy housekeeper). Complimentary coffee. Helpful and fast arrangement for hired car and driver. At least 4 major banks around the corner towards the back so no problems. Decent exchange rates at money changers across the road in Wisma Merdeka. Tour desk at Gaya across the road which i continued to use cos I stayed at Gaya (huge mistake) prior to moving over to Capital and the girl there is excellent. Huge mall across the road the other way Sabah Suria. Everything within walking distance.
We got ourselves a big room, queen bed with seaview (to be honest, the seaview from any side of this hotel can only be seen partially as there is this mall in front of this hotel). The room is big, 19m sq to be precise. Price is lower than any other hotel with our type of room. I summarize my experience below: 1. pros - in the heart of the city - near to malls, seafood restaurant, and sea - 10 minutes from airport - staff is very friendly except the old female receptionist - room and hotel is very clean, nicely decorated, and the smell is good - all in-room facilities are neat, function well (TV, aircon is quiet, shower; shampoo, body wash provided) - Elevator available 2. Cons - No breakfast (there's a restaurant called Little Italy integrated with the hotel but pricy). But there's mamak nearby, old town white coffee as well as other restaurants I would give 9 out of 10
Right in the Centre”
Capital Hotel has probably the best location in KK - smack in the centre of town, across the road from all the tourist agencies and down the road from the Jesselton Pier. Good value, very clean - even in a 'smoking' room/floor - I always forget that smoking is still allowed in some hotels!
We stayed here twice, before we left for Mt. Kinabalu and Sandakan and when we came back. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Loved the Chinese tradition and feeling the hotel carries and represents. Room was very spacious, clean and comfortable.
comfortable hotel so far so good clean air condition very satisfaction no complaint at all for me..central business district easy to go anywhere shopping night life or any restaurant..its good for single travelers , or for couple or with family..for those who love shopping, sight seeing, night life or relaxing for me its a best suggestion for saving accommodation with the affordable prices for staying..
Simple & nice hotel, good location, friendly staff”
1. Nice pillow (I guess it is a latex pillow, im not so sure, but definitely not the feather type). Clean room, not noisy at all even it is located in the center of the city. friendly and Attentive staff - the bell boy was ready for us once we stop our car infront of the hotel. (please remember it is only a budget hotel, we do not expect this kind of service) Our room at 5th floor with nice SEA view! even thought 20% been covered by the building infront, but, hey! this is an budget hotel! 2. no breakfast, no swimming pool, no gym (at least we do not see any) if you require all these service, please think twice. But one of the local famous restaurant "little italy" is just next to the hotel Lobby, nice food with reasonable price. The local famous food - pork noodle and baked toast with Kaya (Fu-Yuan) , are not far away from the hotel too, approximately 3-5mins walking distance. 3. very near to Suria Shopping mall, and Jesselton Jetty. If consider to have a day trip to the islands near by, you can walk to the Jetty. 4. Basically everything is near-by! even Philipino marketing is within walking distance, about 15-20min. So in the evening, we have a some walk beside the sea and have our dinner in the local seafood stall. 5. about 15min driving distance to the airport. I would recommend this hotel as compare to the "Best Western hotel" next to them.
Very good hotel in the center of Kota Kinabalu. Walking distance to Jesselton Point.
we are frequent traveller to kk. we going kota kinabalu mainly for food especially for the bah kut teh herbal chinese dish and shopping. we have a wonderful time during our stay at winner hotel.
Good value for money”
Hotel staff very friendly and I was surprised that they allowed us to check in once we arrived early in the morning around 10am as the room is available at the time of check in. Room is clean and tidy as it looks newly renovated, complete with all daily necessities. however room floor carpet can be further cleaned up as there are some minor stains. Hotel location is at city center and walking distance to all nearby eateries.. Suria sabah just opposite .. Gaya street Sunday market just next street .. grab car is easily available.. overall this hotel is at a very convenient and strategic location at a reasonable price per night. Will definitely come back for next stay again in future.
Value for money”
I had a very nice stay at Hotel Capital KK. Overall very comfortable and the location is superb. The only part that need more improvement is the drainage at shower area. The water flow is too slow.
Good 3 Star hotel”
After reading all the reviews on this hotel, decided to give it a try and it turn out to be all true. Nice hotel with almost everything nearby. Room is clean and air con is power. Lots eatery around so who cares when hotel don't provide breakfast. Massage shop is just few shop away. And shopping centre is just within reach. Remember to visit the Italian restaurant which is just below the hotel, Little Italy. The food is so yummy.
Great location, Friendly staff, Nice hotel”
My children and I went to KK to experience the place and it's people. We stayed at a Family room at Hotel Capital because two of my children are with me. The room is good enough for the three of us. We are mostly out to go around the city and would just stay in to sleep for the night. The hotel staff are friendly and attentive to guests needs. The reception staff are always with a smile and speak English. They can give you direction whenever you need. Taxi cabs are readily available outside of the hotel and from the airport, the hotel is well known. Overall, the hotel service is good, room hotel is ok -it a good value for your money.
