Carnet Hotel Osaka,”
This hotel is in Amagasaki, but NOT on the Main Line by rhe same name! You have to take a branch line on the Hanshin Line, everytime you want to go anywhere, which is a nuisance ! The hotel itself is adequate. The breakfast is an apology, and the rooms are small. No-one speaks a single word of English, so it was useless trying to get any help with any tours or sites! They flatly refused to keep any luggage on the last day even for 1 hour, but then relented with a smile and said they would for 1,000 yen per hour !! No thanks !

Turned out to be great value.”
A good sized room with everything you need - fridge, AC, radio, coffee etc. Breakfast was very basic, just a boiled egg and toast delivered to the room. But we were very comfortable here, and its location is close enough to the station to walk (but not with cases). Staff were helpful when needed. Great value.

The hotel have a good location, thats why I booked this hotel. Though I had a worst nightmare booking this hotel. First is they did not let me choose the room for me to stay. They put me in a very ugly and broken room (which is not listed on the pictures that they have in agoda site) So i requested to be transferred but they refused. And even told them hat I wasnt comfortable staying in that room. ( the cabinet doors are missing. and broken) I felt like in an abandon room. And no available superior for me to talk to. Staffs from the hotel dont speak a single english word. they just use an ipad to communicate. They are so reluctant to give you any request that you need. I stayed there for 6 nights. And they refused to provide me: 1. An extra pillow (even if I told them that I am willing to pay for it. And As I told them that I cant sleep with 2 pillows only.) 2. Clothes hangers. (as I stayed for 6 nights, It would be obvious that I will have a lot of clothes to hang, but they did not gave me an extra.) 3. Breakfast (For the first 2 nights I was staying in the hotel alone. and they only gave me 1 breakfast (Toasted bread and hard boiled egg) But as I booked with agoda I paid for two persons.) 4. Body Sponge. (they only gave us 1 body Sponge, and they expect us to share. THAT IS VERY UNHYGIENIC.) And in terms of the house keeping, they have a policy for you to leave the hotel from 2pm onwards. And they would call you several time. (when I say several times it means more than 5 times) even if it is still before 2pm. I feel so Unsafe in that hotel, as they only have control on the lock system of the room. They wont give you the keys when you leave, and they will just lock your room upon request. They will tell you to bring all your valuable as they are not liable for any lost or damage. (in the case that they dont provide the keys. they should have a safety deposit on the room or front desk for such important items) BUT THEN AGAIN THEY DONT! And w

This is place is for short time and short stay stay I would not recommend for the family and couples who wanted to relax. I requested for non-smoking but there is still the strong smell, the door key is controlled by the reception (I felt unsecured), the location is not really safe specially if you go home late, the breakfast is only toast, hard boiled egg and coffee/tea. :(, from Amagsaki station it's a 10-15 minutes walk. The staff can't speak and understand English but they were trying their best to communicate thru their Ipad. Overall I would not advice for those who will travel for a holiday and wanted to enjoy the Osaka.

English Please?!”
No English speaking staff but they are very polite! Very big rooms but the smell of the cigarette is very powerful. Around 15 minutes walk from Amagasaki station.

Cheap Rate but a lot of negative to consider.”
Friendly trying to reach out to speak english
It was okay because see feel and see the staff are really trying their best to communicate using iPod Apps for translation but we are all trying our best. the location is still far from train, we need to consider around 5 blocks walking distance and in evening it is not pleasant to do that going home. the rooms are well decorated but may not yet be really open for regular hotel. the food is not okay. the rooms smells cig smoke despite request to clean up and we informed we have children. not recommended ;( if not only because of the staff trying to reach out on us.

3-night stay in Amagasaki, Osaka”
1. Close to Amagasaki Station (subway and shuttle bus to Kansai Int. Airport). 2. Although lacking in English speaking ability, staff very polite. 3. Close to local restaurants.
Hotel Carnet is a love motel. So if you don't mind that fact, it's a fine place to stay. I travelled with a buddy of mine so we didn't need anything luxurious. Also, the closer you stay to Osaka/Umeda, the more you will have to pay. It's a tad far from the main downtown area, but once you navigate the subway system to and from your area a few times, it becomes quite easy to get to different places. We didn't spend much time at the hotel at all, so we were satisfied with what we chose. If I could do it all again, I would choose a place a bit closer to downtown, but again, that would cost more. All in all, it was a fine place to stay but a bit overpriced in my opinion. That's Japan though. Everything is more expensive!

Room, Location, Staff
Our room in this hotel was very spacious, one master bedroom with one private bathroom (and one large bathtub), not a common room size for a Japan standard (particularly at its price). Sound insulation is also perfectly done, since we cannot hear any disturbing voice from the outside. Gigantic LED TV size, but all the programs are in Japanese. The hotel is within the walking distance from Amagasaki Train Station, which is quite convenient to travel around Osaka (and Kansai) area. The hotel's policy is also to not give the room's key to the guest, so if we want to go out, we need to inform the receptionist and they will lock the door from their office (took one day for us to realize it, they should inform it earlier). Nevertheless, if there are any chance to visit Osaka in the future, definitely will stay in this hotel again.
