In Amsterdam it can be difficult to find lower-priced accommodation but thankfully for budget travelers, there are still places like Hotel Casa Amsterdam. The hotel is absolutely massive, and it gets its name by having 400 rooms inside, all of which are inexpensive and basic. Plenty of restaurant options are just outside the front door as are tourist attractions. An extremely interesting museum, the Tropenmusuem is locate quite nearby and visitors can see how this carefully maintained indoor tropical masterpiece that is very welcoming, particularly in the winter months. For an adequate stay on a budget, there is little reason to look any further than Hotel Casa Amsterdam.

Beautifully Designed Hotel”
Hotel Casa defines modern scandinavian and the lobby is certainly a treat for the eyes! The space is very comfortable and very well designed and it makes you just want to chill out at the hotel all day The rooms are decent and some of the better ones that i have seen in amsterdam. The location is not the most ideal, however everything is approximately 3 train stops away so if you don't mind the 6 min walk to the station it's a great place for a relaxing holiday.
The hotel itself was great the only problem is there seems to be only college interns working there and they don’t seem to know what they’re talking about half the time. The restaurant has great food but the waitresses don’t know the menu at all and consistently brought us other people’s order. Besides that the hotel has a clean modern look and concept. I would probably stay there again the room size was decent, food great, good location just the service was questionable.
not recommended, you can have a better hotel at that price.
If you want to be away from the hustle & bustle of the city then this is a good choice. 5 minutes walk from Amstel station where you have a choice of train, tram, metro or bus. Room size was fine, bathroom was spotless. Tea & coffee making facilities included. Reception staff were friendly and helpful. Little choice around the hotel for eating out. We found The Drovers Dog which was a 5 minute walk away. A hip & trendy eatery full of young people serving brunch type meals along with burgers & pie. You could walk into central Amsterdam in about 20 minutes.
Ok, the hotel is not near the center but, in fact, is very close to a metro station and in 15-20 minutes you can reach easily the Center. The rooms are okay, clean and simple. I appreciated the bed, very comfortable. We tried the breakfast, that is very good. The staff is very helpful and kind.
It's a very lovely hotel”
The hotel is lovely. You will feel relax and comfortable since you are at the lobby. The room space is perfect for us. Not large but perfect size for couple. The cafe at the lobby is nice too. The location is a bit far away from the train station if you have your big luggage with you, that's probably take about 7- 10 mins but without luggage, 5 mins walk is fine :) We will come back if we have a chance to visit Amsterdam again. We recommended!!
young urban Hotel ”
little bit outside from the center, feetwalking distance 30 minutes along the Gracht to the oldtown or 8 min with frequently running metro. placed in a quiete student area with plenty restaurants to explore in a radius from 1 kilometer... on the roof terrace is every first friday in the month oyster feast.... perfect for a sundowner
Close to Center ”
10 min metro or 8 min train from the Central station and then with 5min walk to hotel which is quite convenience. There is a tram next to the metro/train station that links up some spots such as Van go Museum, Albert Market etc. The hotel restaurant provide good food with 25% off by using the I AMeterdam card. other than that only one restaurant around (as we passed). There is some fast food stalls and a suppermarket in the metro station which could grap some food to eat. There is direct train from the station to the windmill :)
quiet, good value for money, river view”
perfect for the price, quiet and clean with a river view. I stayed here before I move to my new appartment, and it is so convenient for me. It is near the Amstel station with tram/bus and etc, which has easy access to city centre/other cities. The room is a single room, but the size is approaching a double room, and equiped with fast internet/large TV and large table. Staff are friendly, and the entire hotel is designed for International guests, so you can see English signs every where. Food is also nice, although a little bit expensive.
Basic hotel for visiting Amsterdam”
The Casa 400 is a very nice place to stay for travelers not planning to spend much time in their hotel room. The room was quite small, but was adequate for our needs. Breakfast was included and was decent as well. The website said it was a 15 minute walk from Centraal station but the casa 400 is actually 15 minutes by metro from centraal station. Don't try and walk! It is a 5 min walk from Amstel Station metro and all metro trains go through Amstel Station. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend this place to a friend.
Positives: The hotel is well situated to the tram and metro station. Hotel staff were fantastic and couldn’t be more helpful. Great WiFi. Negatives: Beds were too soft. We stayed 2 nights and only just managed. Any longer and we would have incurred a hefty bill from the osteopath! Very few English speaking TV channels in the room. All channels had subtitles (not all English subtitles either) which was annoying.
Perfect place to stay for a great time in Amsterdam”
When we arrive in Hotel Casa Amsterdam, we had a big smile in our faces! The hotel looks super nice! We went there by car and you could leave youre car in the hotel parking center (20€ per day). We found a parking place infront of the hotel, where you can leave youre car aswell and pay for hours or per day too. But its free on sundays, so we pay saturday and leave the car on sunday there for free. The staff was super friendly and we felt really welcomed. The room was big, clean and comfortable. We had everything we need. The metro station is just 3 minutes by walk, there is almost every 5 minutes a train going directly to central station. I would definitely come back!
Great option for the value”
Just wished the hotel had at least an indoor pool or gym. All the craziness from Amsterdam USA but much and you need to unwind. Location a bit far from the main attractions but overall not impossible. Great hotel room and staff.
Very nice and clean hotel in 15 minutes from the center by transport ”
The hotel is new, stylish and clean. The staff is very friendly. It was our first time in Amsterdam and we didn’t knew what is the best location to take a hotel. Hotel Casa Amsterdam is not located in the old center and you’ll have to use public transport to get to the city center. But it’ll take you about 15 minutes, not more.
Good stay in Amsterdam”
Staff is friendly and help to make check in quite efficient, offering us some maps as well. We arrived early but they allowed us to access the room. The restaurant EAT57 next is great as well, we had a lunch there. Hotel is not very near the downtown but transportation is convenient.
Location = Good. Surprisingly they didn't provide water bottles. I don't know if hotels in Amsterdam don't normally provide water bottles or not. The annoying fact is that I was asked to pay city tax while my agoda receipt showed the tax had been included in the pre payment. I had to pay the tax again.
Checks all the boxes for a Business Stay”
Room was clean and spacious. Location was a bit outside of the city, but it was actually nice to see another part of the city. My only grievance would be that the roof closes when the bar closes, which is a shame, because I never got to see the view.
3 nights stay from 13-16 june”
The hotel room is clean and comfortable although very basic. The location is near to the amstel station which is very convenient. Breakfast was good. However, what pissed me off is my experience at the registration counter. Booked my stay with agoda. Paid whatever had to be paid. First, i reached the hotel around 7-7.30am and tried to check in (knowing very well the room is not available - just wanted to have an easier access later). The whole process took us almost 25-30mins. Was suprised that i need to pay €75 as tourist tax - excuse me? I paid and we left the hotel. We returned around 4-4.30pm. Took us another 25-30 mins... and still asked for tourist tax. (Saw two invoices @ €26+ and €30+). Why was i charged €75 earlier? Too tired and didnt argue. When checking out, again ask for tourist tax?! Are you guys hotel or tax agent? For goodness shake, if it was the system issue - sort them out, if it was your staff issue - train them! Now i wonder if i shd be paying €75 at all
For the most part, the staff was all very pleasant, although quite a few seemed inexperienced. The guest room was clean but drab and depressing, very much like a college dormitory room. Not a place to spend time other than to sleep. The bed is not too comfortable, like two twin beds put side-by-side, but if you take advantage of both beds together, you can slip in between the two! So, essentially, you're sleeping on a very narrow twin-size bed. For some inexplicable reason, my room was not cleaned two days in a row. Although reception offered a complimentary drink voucher, I would have rather had fresh towels and the room freshened up. Not the hotels' fault, but guests line up on the sidewalk to smoke, even though there is signage directing smokers to one side of the block, causing this non-smoker to second-hand smoke several cigarettes while waiting for a taxi/Uber. I will look for a different option next time I visit Amsterdam.
Great hotel ”
