My partner and I stayed at Celebes for just 1 night as we were arriving close to midnight and was travelling to Bunaken the following day. We stayed at this hotel at the suggestion of our resort manager in Bunaken. It was affordable and suited us . The jetty was walking distance to catch our boat in the morning . Check in was quick. Room was spacious and clean . Bed was very comfortable. It was good for our purpose for 1 night.

For one night, you can handle, but do not expect neither the cleanest place nor the best breakfast at all. You just feel like leaving for a better more comfortable place.

The Grande II rooms are excellent”

Location: on the harbour (so close to ferries to Bunaken, Pasar Jengki and Jalan Roda (great walking street of warungs & cafes)). Views: of the harbour, but ONLY from the excellent Grande II rooms. Staff: very friendly & helpful. Not so good: the breakfast was very mediocre. However, this is a a good excuse to walk to Jalan Roda (ask the staff for directions) for a good local breakfast and the BEST coffee. Also not so good: the standard rooms are just a bit too claustrophobic. If you can't get or afford a Grande II room go elsewhere.

Excellent overnight option in Manado harbour”

Hotel Celebes is an excellent hotel in Manado harbour. This was a great value for money option with nice,clean rooms and good breakfast facilities. We used the hotel as jump off point on our way to Bunaken island and the staff were extremely helpfull in organizing the necessary boat transfer. Thanks a lot

cheap hotel in the heart of old market”

it was my 3rd time staying there, one of the cheapest hotel in Manado for my standard, reasonably clean, good aircon, satelite tv, good hot shower, good breakfast, in the heart of the old market, where I need to be while in the city. If you're arriving late, make sure to have meals prior as no vendors can be found in the area in the late evening.

Very near from the port”

We stayed at Hotel Celebes for one night. The location of hotel was very convenient for us because we came from Siladen island and get off the boat at the port. We walked to the city center and it didn't take long. The staffs were very helpful.

Very dirty”

Room was very dirty. Tables in the Food area were Xerox dirty. No toiletpaper.

I was so pleased with Hotel Celebes that I came back to stay again, after my Bunaken adventure. All the staff are wonderful ESP Ms Yuliana, at the reception, offered so many good advises and made my stay, absolutely memorable.

Simple, adequate to our needs for a short stay.”

I was looking for simplicity & comfort for my short stay together with my wife & my 3-month baby boy, and i'm totally satisfied with Hotel Celebes! Room was adequate and clean except for the bath tub, it was a little under my expectation of cleanliness. The view however made up for it, our balcony was towering over the sea dock with the majestic mountains in its backdrop. I had a little trouble communicating with the staff though, i was forced to pick-up a little bahasa (language) Indonesia, even my bits of bahasa Malaysia was insufficient. If you're a backpacker, Hotel Celebes should be more than enough for you!

At night, public transport in this part of Manado blares disco music for some reason, and this went on into the wee hours of the morning as the vans drove by the hotel. The hotel is right next to an early morning fish market, so the loudspeakers and yelling woke us up at 6am. The internet was down during our entire stay, for which the staff were unapologetic, and I got diarrhea from the breakfast. I would never stay here again.

Not very recommended. Room is nt clean, and the food is bad.

Run-down place, low value for money, bad breakfast”

The pics looked good so we booked the hotel. When we arrived we could not believe it was the right hotel. Hotel looks very shabby external as well as inside. Definitely not good enough. But the worst thing was the breakfast "buffet". Toast, marmelade and butter imitation and some nasi goreng was the complete buffet. Only one knife at the buffet table that all people used to butter the toast. Only tea to drink. Lowest value for money on our whole indonesia trip. Only real pro is the location next to the harbour - for people that travel by boat.
