“great service and always accomodating””
Upon on our arrival at the hotel, the manger, Khem, warmly received us. We were pleasantly surprised when he told us that he would upgrade us to a room with a better view at no extra cost - just to make our stay in Pokhara more memorable. Because we didnt plan much for our trip, we approached him for advise on where to go, what to see and do. He was always willing to help out with our queries and being very sincere and friendly to help us all the time. Rooms were big and has great hot water showers everyday when we got back home from our hikes. Rooms has balcony with great views. Location was superb being right smack in the central, and made it easy for us to walk around and explore the main parts of pokhara. The boats to Phew Lake is right in front, allowing easy access for anyone to go for the Phewa Lake tours. When we were going to check out, manager Khem, gave us 1 final surprise by waiving the taxi fare back to the tourist bus park for us. We were really happy to have met manager Khem and his staff, for without them, our stay wouldn't have been so awesome in Pokhara. Thank you again, and we will be back for sure! :)

Great Price for New Hotel”
This is the second time I have stayed here (first time December 2015). For about $19/night (a bit less if you just show up and can bargain well), the City Inn is fine value. Water pressure (in early November when I stayed for three nights) is excellent; hot water = excellent. They have a generator so during critical hours (6am to 9am and 5pm to 8pm), you will have electricity even if there is a power cut in Pokhara sector. Breakfast (included in price) is the usual omelette, trekker potatoes (oily as they are everywhere)...coffee, toast and juice. TV works great (can get CNN and BBC). Reception of WiFi is just ok - when too many people stay here the reception is very slow with frequent line drops - but this happens everywhere in Nepal. They do have their router powered by a generator so even when there is a power cut in Pokhara sector, you can log on. Overall, you can find less expensive in Pokhara (about $10 is the cheapest single room in town), but if your budget allows, the extra money is well spent here. As others mention, the view from the higher floors is great! And not to forget Khem and his staff who are patient, professional and will run to do anything (within reason) for a guest. Khem looks over this hotel (and the other across the street - he manages very well). If any problem, go see Khem - he will sort it out...Overall, I like Khem a lot; and city Hotel is about the best of the mid-range hotels in town. Highly recommended.

Exceptional”
Hi every one, We had a wonderful stay in this hotel, much appreciated the hotel management/staff you guys are very humble, polite and prompt responsive. Location also in a very quiet environment, 5 minutes walk from the centre point of the Lakeside market, beautifully designed clean and spacious rooms from where we can enjoy the both mountain and lake natural views. We were on a short family visit to Pokhara, however we extended our stay for 2 more days besides our busy schedule. Therefore, strongly recommended to enjoy the facilities of this beautiful 3 star hotel (Hotel City Inn) and make your trip fruitful and worth visiting Pokhara. - Thapa Family, Kathmandu

The very Best you can get”
Because of sickness when we arrived we spent a lot off time in our room and there is nothing to complain about. The bed is excellent, the bathroom is nice and above all very clean. Cleanliness is absolutely at premium standard here. The staff is very helpfull and very friendly. The breakfast is good with many varieties. The view from our room gives a nice view to the lake and if you go to the top of the hotel you have a great view over the mountains and Pokhara. The WIFI is also very good. We ended ud staying here for 10 days. We would say that Hotel City Inn meets the same standard as a good hotel in Denmark.

Hotel City Inn: Gets all the basics done well”
This was my third time staying here...and I have been to Nepal many times since 1999 - I do research in the mountains near Pokhara. You can look up my two previous reviews on this place here at Agoda. This review covers the eight days I stayed here in mid-December 2016. First, Khem (the manager of the hotel) and his staff do a great job of looking after people...they give good, honest advice; (2) this hotel does the basics well: the TV works fine (I only watch BBC and CNN news); internet is good - unless many people on-line (breakfast area is a problem area) at the same time...but for 95% of the time one gets good wi-fi coverage; (3) hot water in the shower is exceptional especially in the afternoon as the solar panels supply more power...your early morning shower before a bus/plan departure might only be a warm one in the late November through early March time frame (because so many people are taking showers and the electricity can only do so much to heat the water)...so take your shower in the afternoon or early evening and rejoice in the hot water (and great water pressure - at least on the first/second floors where I have stayed); finally, they will make up your room every day if you ask them...Rooms are large. Anyway, I think for $20 USD or so (December 2016), this is the best hotel in the $20-$30 price category in Pokhara...Two tips: the restaurant right across the street does a good daal baat for about $2.50 USD...and the Kabab King (five minute walk - ask desk for directions) does the best Tandoori chicken/mutton and naans in town at great price - and lots of food...about $6-$8 USD for giant dinner. The folks at the desk can call them and/or give you directions...easy walk from hotel one block away.

Awesome stays in Pokhara”
Booked another night for this hotel after our first night stay which we booked from booking.com. Price a bit cheaper, thus we book from agoda instead of booking.com for the second night. The hotel did not move us out from the room which they put us in the previous night. Appreciate so much. They did not charge us as well. Thanks… Good stays.. we can stay in this hotel for weeks or months.. amazing rooftop views, views from our rooms are amazing too. Surrounded by mountains and lake, and this is the most peaceful moment of our stays in Nepal. Thanks to Hotel City Inn. Forget to mention, this hotel have a lift. And 24 hours electricity and hot water. Which normally most of the hotels in nepal don’t provide that. We stayed in another hotel for a few days too. Thanks..

Hotel City Inn made our stay in Pokhara memorable. ”
We arrived on the rainy day with heavy luggage, the hotel staffs welcomed us with overwhelming. We asked the hotel for information of short trekking, We got very honest and reasonable advise from Mr.Ram the hotel manager. We decided to booked the trip with hotel cause the price is very reasonable and better than what we have read from any websites. We booked the trip with local guide who can speak English, hotel asked us to meet the guide before but we said could be anyone who can speak English. Surprisingly Mr.Ram (the manager) is our guide for our trekking. He took care of us during our one day trek very well and attentively , good services, good information and knowledge provided, kind and clam. Everything during the trip is included in the price we paid on the book date. During our stay, other staffs are very helpful with smiley. Room is clean and good facilities. This hotel made Pokhara be our favorite place in Nepal.

Wonderful Service”
Hotel City Inn was an incredible choice for my sister and I (both female travelers in our 20s), as right from the onset, we were made to feel at home by the staff. Khem, the hotel manager, allowed us to choose the room with the best view for our taste, and was incredibly helpful the following days in giving us tips and making arrangements for us for sightseeing, paragliding, etc. At one point when my sister fell ill, he asked his staff to make her a ginger tea to soothe her upset stomach, despite it not being on the menu. The helpfulness and kindness of the staff, the comfortable rooms, along with the gorgeous views of the Himalayas (on a clear day), makes this the perfect choice for any couple/family/solo traveller; especially more so for females travelling alone. Thanks Khem and staff! Priya (Singapore)

Very good hotel by the lake”
I stayed at city inn hotel for almost a week and the hotel feels like home. The staffs are very honest, friendly and warm like a family. The location also very great close to coffee shop, bakery and great Thakali restaurant. During my stay I didn’t need to book a taxi because it’s located near to everything. The room is very large, bed was super comfy with a nice mountain view. I enjoyed my stay and will be back again for next visit! 😊

Friendly staff ! Great view! Comfortable beds! ”
i recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to pokhara. We are 2 Irish girls travelling for 6 months. This hotel did not break the bank and allowed us to relax in great comfort. The hotel staff are very friendly and the manager Khem Dahal was at hand to meet our every need. We felt very at home in this hotel. The views of the Himalayas are superb and the rooms warm on a cold winter night! The showers are hot and very powerful with a strong hair dryer also supplied. This hotel is a great place to relax after a hard trek or to mentally prepare! And most importantly the wifi works in all areas and in the connection is strong!

Wonderful experience”
I don't use wonderful lightly, here. My wife and I took our two young boys (2 &4) to visit Pokhara for a short stay (3 nights) and brought a friend along who had his own room. Breakfast each morning was excellent in way of both the food and the service. The staff was always anxious to help. We enjoyed the city, but the service at the hotel seemed to make our stay feel quite luxurious.

A friendly, comfortable stay in Pokhara”
This was a very (very!) comfortable stay in Pokhara, with all the boxes ticked: really friendly and helpful staff (including the manager, Kheem, who always has time for a nice chat and helpful advice), warm showers at any time of day, very comfortable beds and very clean facilities. It s located in the quieter end of Lakeside but an easy walk to all the main shopping/eating spots. Really great hotel!

Great location with nice view”
Pros: Great location. Walking distance to Fewa lake and tourist shops. The manager, Mr Khem was very friendly and helpful. Our initial booking was a family suite facing the street. However, I requested the mountain view and was changed to the jacuzzi suite and paid the price difference. It has an amazing view of both the mountains and the lake and worth paying more. We can just watch the sunrise and sunset from our room. Cons: Water pressure in the bathroom was low, even for shower. It takes a while for hot water to come out. Breakfast was ok, can probably improve on it. Other than that it was a great stay for us and would recommend this place to others.

Excellent location, Clean & comfortable rooms with lake view. ”
Its not about location, it's not at all about comfortability nor about cozy rooms. These These things are very well offered by hotel city inn but what makes it worth the stay is Mr. KHEM manager of hotel who is always available to make the stay memorable.

Spacious, clean and convenient location”
Stayed here both before and after trekking in the Annapurna region. The location is perfect on a quiet side street just off Lakeside Road, so you can enjoy shopping and eating just a short walk away, but still get a quiet night's sleep. Shower was strong and hot, and the breakfast simple but delicious. Power is unreliable so you may to take the stairs sometimes, but every hotel in Pokhara has the same problem.

Best stay in Nepal”
The best thing about this hotel is the huge windows in my room in 7th floor. Right at dawn, first light came into the room, we saw beautiful mountains right in front of us in the bed. No blockage at all as the hotel is the tallest building in town. We purposely choose this hotel because read about the reviews of the rooms yes. We definitely love our room. you can request for room upgrade upon check in if you are staying at lower floors. No worries on needing to climb the staircase, this hotel has 24 hours electricity and the lift throughout our stay was functioning well, never out of orders. Most of he hotels in nepal do not provide such luxury as once load shedding happened, all will stop operating. This hotel provide good maintenance on the property and care for us so much. Satisfied with our stays. Thank you.

Friendly staff, good service”
Booked the family suite with jacuzzi. Staff were helpful, kind and friendly. Room is clean and spacious, located at the top floor but not lift landing so you have to walk one more floor up. It also has mini kitchen with dinner table so we can do light cooking. On our first night, the jacuzzi shower didn't work so they gave another room key for us to shower. But the problem was resolved the next day. Breakfast is rather simple, but they serve decent espresso. There's a tour travel agent downstairs which you can book your domestic flight/city tour/taxi. For paragliding and helicopter tour, go to Advance Paragliding across the street. They give great service with better price.

great bargain”
I booked this hotel based on the reviews on Agoda and we were very happy with it. the location is by the lake and around 10 minutes walk to the busiest area which was great for us. the side road it is on was quiet but had a good few restaurants and cafes. the staff were helpful and helped us book our trek. they also looked after our bags when we were away for 6 days. the only negatives were the wifi and occasional power cut. the wifi very rarely worked but we just went to a cafe instead. it got a bit annoying after a while. overall good place and decent location
