Will definitely stay at the Hotel Coachman again.Loved the little extra touches e.g choice of Stevia as well as sugar, and decaffeinated coffee as well as caffeinated/plunger etc.A great stay. The lady at reception was lovely and bent over backwards to make sure we were comfortable.

I booked a 'Budget' room and while the price was very 'Budget' the room certianly wasn't - huge comfortable bed, large clean room, great shower, friendly staff , and fantastic location. Would recommend to all travelers.

Great service”

Location

This hotel is in a great location in Palmerston. Service is excellent although hotel room is quite standard and in fact resembles more like a motel. I was there for business and free Wi-fi is great to have, except that it keeps dropping unexpectedly. But a good hotel/motel in general.

1970s Adult Movie Set”

The room we had was in the Motel section of the property. i did not realise that there was a motel side. On arrival we got the keys and went to the room. WOW. it was a 1970s adult movie set all with spotlights on the bed. I was extremely disappointed given the reviews and the 4* rating. Bed was uncomfortable and rolled in the centre. Bathroom was clean but severely dated No aircon. All in all this room should be rated 2 star max.

Pleasant overnight stay in well run hotel”

Large hotel - nice rooms well equipped - centrally located

We stayed here one night on the way to catch the interislander ferry. The hotel was very busy and appeared to be well run. The staff were very helpful and our stay was most pleasant. The rooms were large and well equipped and we did not have any complaints

The coachman (motel) was ok. The pool is small, would be nicer if there was space to have a sun lounger. Room was adequate but far too hot with no cooling options. Our room was close to the Rd and really noisy and hot at night.

Not worth fancy pricing”

This hotel is in a great location, it is clean and tidy. However, it is not worth a four star rating. The bathroom ceiling was markwed with moisture and the wall paper was peeling off. The two plate stove needed cleaning and the one plate was actually on high. If we had accidentally switched the stove on at the wall it could have caused a fire becuase the cord was lying on the plate! The rooms are not sound proof. Definitely not a four star standard. If you can get a special price then it is worth staying there for the location. If you are a well travelled person then you will be misled by the four star rating.

Nice modern room Great breakfast, Centrally located

This was a great choice for us as it was close to wedding venue were attending. Was a lovely stay although rushed for us with other commitments else where during the day, it was a shame we did not have time to use pool. Great value for money as I booked the bed and breakfast package and very clean and modern rooms and handy to everything or just short taxi ride ladies when wearing high heeled shoes. Very happy with our stay.

Well prepared room, well stocked bathroom and comfy beds with nice reading lights. Friendly staff. Great wifi and fair size TV. Underground parking to get the bags out even in the pouring rain. 2 min walk to Irish Pub, restaurants and Packn Save. The chap who designed the position of the water tap over the hand wash basin needs another year in plumbing school. Apart from that...any time again. Tom Muller, Whangarei

Other than thinking the hairdressers (can highly recommend them by the way) was the reception as we entered the wrong driveway initially, our stay was excellent. Through Agoda we managed to get a very good deal on a room, perfect for my teenage son and I. It was clean and had everything we needed. One small issue - the rubbish bin was full of someone else’s tea/coffee rubbish, half full. No doubt an error. But not a good look.
