We would return to this Hotel”
Great location, staff were really lovely, efficient and friendly. The restaurant is fab and the breakfast was freshly cooked to order, which was much nicer than a buffet offering. The room was small but fine as were were out most of the time and thankfully we only had a small bag, goodness knows where you’d put a suitcase!
Stayed one night as attending wedding at hotel Hotel sits on cobbled road to Stirling castle from arrivial to check out fabulous cuztomer service. Room was not the largest but spotless with everything needed very comfortable bed . Breakfast in morning good variety and served quickly despite hotel being full. Will definately returm
Good hotel, great staff”
Colessio We stayed the first night of the, Runrig - The Last Dance gigs, and everywhere in Stirling was full. Arrived in the morning to make sure we got a parking space and although too early to check-in, staff were great. Had dinner included in price but no problem changing to lunch. Relaxed drinks then a set lunch menu with reasonable choices and we added a nice and not extortionate bottle of wine. Returned after three and checked into room. Small-ish but everything very clean and nice bathroom. Breakfast also included in our booking and normally £9.95. We thought reasonable value for a decent hotel. Cold meat, cereal, cheese etc buffet and the hot grill breakfast which was very good. Overall a great experience with all staff friendly and helpful. Would go back again.
Me and my husband stayed two nights to go to the runrig conert nice hotel wonderful staff just one thing food a wee bit expensive but had a great stay .
Excellent location with great parking However communication was poor specifically relating to a major event where there was noise to 2am - no prior discussion was had with guests about the event. Breakfast was ok. Then there was a party on level 2 until 2am on another night. 2/5 nights disappointing is not value for money
Great historic hotel. Disappointed there were no fitness facilities or the hotel did not have an arrangement with a local gym / fitness facility.
Great location, easy parking, very friendly staff”
They ran out of avocado, butter and coffee first morning at breakfast Rooms are small Toilet Top seat and toilet brush missing Still a great place to stay
70s-style event space, not a hotel”
Hotel Colessio’s webpage has more pictures of weddings and parties than of the rooms. I should have paid attention! There is no lobby, rather there’s a desk between the lounge and the restaurant, which are all in one big room. The building is a handsome 19th century stone structure, but you have to pass through chrome stanchions with black ropes to get in the front door, as though you were entering Studio 54. The decor in the public and private rooms is entirely white, black, and chrome. Consistency of the design theme is obviously more important than quality - for example, the black bathroom sink was the shallowest I’ve ever seen, at most 3” deep, making it difficult not to splash water when shaving. The shower stall was cheap white plastic with a slippery floor. All this was wholly unexpected in small-town Scotland. There was NO light in the living area of our suite - none. When we pointed this out the evening staff apologetically provided a (cheap, white) table lamp.
Very nice hotel right in the centre”
Stayed for one night, the staff were very friendly and check in was fast and efficient. The room was spacious with a lovely big airy bathroom too. Bed was very comfortable. You could not be more in the centre of Stirling with all main attractions and nightlife in walking distance, the castle just being up the road. The breakfast was probably the best we had during our week in Scotland. A huge selection plus a la carte menu too. Delicious! The only negative would be the lack of facilities for a 5 star hotel, no gym, pool etc. It says they are paired with another hotel spa, but it is 20 minutes away. Not what we wanted to mess about with when we arrived. Overall though, its a great hotel and would stay here again.
The room was a disappointment when compared to photos ”
Room smaller than we expected, because of where the room was we had to keep curtains closed but this prevented any light from coming in. The lighting in the room was very dark so made it difficult when reading or getting ready.
Beautifully decorated. Staff were amazing. Close to all bars, shops and next to castle for tourists. Will defo return here
No swimming pool ”
Food excpencive for what you get breakfast grill very poor one of each item
Not as good as it should be”
Second visit in six months and perhaps this allowed us time to get to know the place better, or rather its rough edges. The Colessio has a lot going for it, grand setting, great location, car parking and an interesting décor. But it could be better in certain departments. Some of the rooms are quite small (we were in 114) with limited storage space, although excellent bathroom. The bar area chairs have seen better days, many of them have ‘saggy seats’ and look past their best. General cleanliness is poor in places. The dining area looks impressive, but we returned a cooked breakfast that was far too oily and the continental offering was poor by most standards (no breads, crackers, fish option). First impressions look plush, but closer inspection reveals less impressive standards than the star rating would suggest.
Very disappointed, not 5 star ”
Very blingy entrance. Room small, stained walls, worn furniture, curtains hanging off rail, discoloured towels, bath robe stained. Friends had bottles of water, we had none. No spare toilet roll. Breakfast not very warm , the one slice of bacon was overcooked. Staff very nice and helpful. Have stayed often at Premier Inns and they are far superior in size and housekeeping. Very disappointed 😥
New year 2017”
Had a fab couple of days at Colessio . Staff were all very helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend hotel for a short break
Hotel was spotlessly clean & staff were very friendly and helpful”
Bit of a hill to walk up.. apart from that ..all good
Stylish renovation , convenient location”
The renovation of the hotel is more stylish and cozy than we expected. Room is relatively small but confortable
2 star hotel at a push, unfinished,dirty, noisy, ”
I could go on forever how bad this hotel is! Very little parking, badly lit steps, very noisy if event is on, lumpy bed, ripped sheets, dirty walls, dirty plates, bad finishings, dark lighting, no net curtains so pitch dark or all can see in, ripped carpet, no toilet lid on toilet, dirty furniture, dirty dishes left in corridor, lift only to 1st floor, some staff brilliant, others struggle to put a smile on their faces. Completely ruined our anniversary as certainly not the "new 5 star boutique hotel" as advertised! Shame as it has the potention to be under the right management and attention to detail, unfortunately it's a far cry to what it wants to be. Looks nice in pics but in person seems to look tacky and not the best quality of finishings and furniture as you'd expect. Very disappointed and won't be returning. Food was ok.
Excellent hotel, good location. Bar staff not so good
Very Good Hotel”
The location of this hotel is great. The room and the bathroom are modern, big, clean, and very comfortable. This hotel, as well as several hotels in Europe, has some rooms that you can access only by going up the stairs. But it is worth. I would recommend it to anyone.
