Loved this place!
We loved staying at this hotel. The staff spoke great English and were helpful with location reservations and ideas. We spent nearly every evening up in the living room area of the restaurant, relaxing and enjoying wine. The only negative is that our bathroom tended to smell like sewer in the mornings - still wouldn't stop us from staying here again.

Beautiful Santuary in the heart of beijing
Location, decor and food
This is an absolute sanctuary in the middle of busy Beijing, it is out of the way but convenient for public transport and taxis. It's such a beautifully decorated hotel with tasteful old Beijing Hutong style furnishing. The shower needed some fixing but other than that the modern amenities in the hotel were very nicely renovated

Recent travel review
The staff was excellent and went out of their way to accommodate my requests, very helpful. Location is great, as is the quiet courtyard
The stay was very good. The hotel collected me from the airport. It is very quiet in the Hutong area and the beds are comfortable. However, the room was rather small. The walls had marks and the shower recess was a bit run down and stayed quite damp and wet after each shower. But the absolutely great staff made more than up for it and sitting in the courtyard sipping a tea was much more relaxing than sitting in one of the big anonymous hotels. When I booked, the website stated that the "normal" price was more than 900USD/night. Now, this type of money it certainly ain't worth. But it is a very good and caring hotel.

Beautiful boutique hotel!
Design comfort
Overall very nice stay at this boutique hotel! (+): - the hotel is very well maintained in the common areas with also nice design & decorations - Rooms are well decorated as well and comfortable; well heated in winter; hot shower is available without any problem - breakfast is good and served in winter under the veranda (nice view over the surrounding hutong roofs) - internet works pretty well in the common areas (not sure about the rooms as we could not et it work in ours) (-): - location is hard to find when coming from the airport; however, once you kow it, it is pretty easy to ask any taxi to drop you off in one of the main streets nearby (next to the metro station)
