Superb Stay”
Hotel de Hallen is a great place to stay. Great service from the staff, friendly as well and room was clean and comfortable. Takes about 30 mins from Schipol via public (train and then tram). Tram stop is about 3-5 mins walk. Takes about 15-20 mins from hotel to the Central station or town area via tram. Walking around the area with my wife and 1 year old kid - seems pretty safe there. A couple of convenient stores which are nearby - Albert Heijn and Dirk for last min shopping stuff or grocery shopping. It is beside Food Hallen which has an array of delicacies to offer. Sometimes De Hallen also offer flea markets during the weekend, so do check them out. Overall, a very nice stay! Will be recommending to friends who are heading to Amsterdam!
Wonderful experience”
From the minute we arrived and saw the wonderful interior of the hotel and were greeted in a very friendly and efficient manner we knew we had chosen a very good hotel. We had one of the interior rooms, beautifully designed and very very comfortable. After a very good nights sleep we enjoyed an excellent and reasonable breakfast and then hopped on a tram not far from the hotel taking us straight to the centre of Amsterdam. That evening we dined in the hotel and had a very good meal with plenty of choice and then went out to the De Hallen Food Hall for a few drinks in a vibrant and fascinating atmosphere. We cannot fault this great hotel in any way and would be very happy to recommend the Hotel De Hallen to everyone.
3 -Night Stay in October”
We loved our stay at De Hallen. The rooms are very well designed. The bed was large and comfortable; the bath was long and deep: the shower was capacious, and the storage well thought out. De Food Hallen next door is great and offers a variety of choices. It’s food truck food, not restaurant food. But good quality and at a good price. You’ll enjoy your stay at De Hallen. It’s a funky place and well sited close to restaurants and bars and close enough to the city by tram. We’ll be back - at the right price. Amsterdam hotel prices are pretty ridiculous unless you snare a bargain.
Unique and cool place to stay”
Hotel de Hallen was one of the best hotels we’ve stayed at. As you approach it’s decor is really thought out and interesting ( it has a swing in the lobby!!) and has a very boutique feel to it. We were greeted at 10.30pm by the friendliest concierge called Raymond who checked us in swiftly. The room was a good size with a huge ( really good shower !! ) and huge bath !! The bathroom door didnt lock ( this was fine for us as a couple but might be weird for a business trip) . The bed was comfortable and even had uk plug sockets in the wall !! The bedroom was warm and cosy but due to the nature of it being a listed building there were no windows you could open / look out of - this for us was fine ( nice a Nd dark for sleeping late in !! ) The location was really lovely - next to the hotel is the most amazing food hall ( food Hallen) and about a 30 walk to central Amsterdam but the are its self was very cool with interesting shops and places to eat. We would 100% go back.
Worth a single cent”
This is my 2nd time stay in Hotel De Hallen. Always be the hotel that I look forward to stay whenever I come back to Amsterdam. De Hallen food court is just a few steps from the hotel, 5 mins walk to tram stop station and theres damn nice breakfast cafe called The Breakfast Club in front of the hotel.
Amazing Spaces”
Hotel De Hallen is well positioned if you prefer to be out of the hubbub and tackiness off the centre of town. This is a fairly classy hotel with a very relaxed and welcoming vibe, the rooms are well appointed and modern, in fact the whole building is a very modern conversion of a tram shed, very sympathetically converted to house the hotel and provide the kind of facilities that most hotels lack. Whether you're holidaying with a family, a group or a couple, this hotel provides enough shared spaces with interesting and relaxing nooks and spaces to hide and have a unique time. The restaurant and bar areas are a great place to finish or start your day and the restaurant Remise 47 serve very nice meals with a surprisingly large portion size for the money. The position of the hotel is great surrounded by a street market, various shops, a library, coffee shops and the amazing FoodHallen an absolute delight for all foodies who like real value and a massive range of food,
Just loved every minute of the De Hallen. Super location, wonderful staff, great restaurant & quiet”
The staff of the De Hallen were wonderful, knowable and very friendly. Our room was spacious and immaculate. The decor of the public areas has great characters d the location is very convenient to Central Amsterdam. 10 mins from everything. The restaurant had and wonderful chef with delicious meals. We were very happy during stay and thoroughly recommend this hotel
Fantastic hotel loved it!!!”
We stayed at the Hotel de Hallen March 2018 and it was fantastic . The location was great, the staff were all fabulous and attentive, the food breakfast and dinner was all lovely and the rooms were amazing, quirky and had the most comfortable bed! Loved everything about it. Would recommend to everybody. Thank you Hotel de Hallen!!!
Made our stay”
We could have not have asked for more helpful, friendly staff and we just wish we had been able to say more than just thank you in Dutch. Would love to have seen all the quirky art work in all its glory and hopefully if we can get back soon when all the refurbishing is complete we will be able to. Loved, loved, loved Amsterdam and the De Hallen made the experience all the more special. Thank you to all the staff.
Great place”
To a person the front desk people were wonderful. The staff was so responsive and helpful. People who made up the rooms were also great. We needed more coffee pods and we wanted robes and these were provided right away. We rented bikes from the hotel and this was so convenient. We had so much fun and often went over to Food De Hallen right around the corner. Great food. The stay couldn't have been better. Loved the infused water at the front desk, too. So tasty and refreshing after long walks and bike rides! We would definitely return.
fabulous stay”
Excellent stay at Hotel de Hallen. The junior suite was wonderful, staff were excellent and went out of their way to help make this a brilliant surprise birthday weekend. Would definitely stay there again if visiting Amsterdam in future and would highly recommend.
Excellent stay”
My daughter and I have just spent 3 nights at the Hotel de Hallen. The hotel is ideally situated for trams into central Amsterdam. Everything in the hotel was excellent, room was clean and comfortable, staff were friendly and helpful.
Beautifully designed hotel”
We stayed at Hotel De Hallen for the weekend. It is a beautifully put together hotel, some of the design touches are lovely. The location is great. You are right in the heart of Amsterdam with lots of things nearby, including some very good coffee shops serving great coffee and decent brunch. You are also next to FoodHallen which has loads of great places to eat. Only disappointment was the bed. It was 2 singles pushed together. That is never comfortable and is not what you expect when you are paying ~£200 per night. That was a real let down.
modern comfortable space in great location”
The Hotel de Hallen is situated in a central location (near the Foodhallen!) and is a modern-looking, comfortable space. We had some minor issues with the facilities but the staff were super helpful and kind in trying to get it resolved. I highly recommend purchasing their breakfast - they have great dishes from omelettes to cereal and their croissants are some of the best I've had!
perfect hotel for visiting Amsterdam”
We chose this hotel simply from the complementary reviews of previous travellers and the reality did not dissapoint. Every member of the hotel team went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and our visit to Amsterdam successful. We' were given recommendations for places to eat and help with tickets to the main attractions. The hotel itself is very interesting with clean comfortable rooms and communal areas and a good restaurant. Breakfast is definately worth including if you stay at this hotel and will set you up for a full day of sightseeing. Whilst the hotel is situated outside the historic centre of Amsterdam, it is a short brisk walk to the museum area and not much further to reach the Leidersplain and the city centre. Overall This is a great hotel at a fair price and I would recommend it for anyone considering a visit to Amsterdam.
Excellent Stay”
We had great time at hotel de hallen. Very friendly staff & excellent service, enjoyed the ambience & cleanliness. Love the morning market & tram station which is less than 5 mins walk, not to forget great ice cream place less than 20 meters away. Very easy to commute to all the main attractions and yet away from very busy touristy spots. Highly recommend to stay if you looking for place away from busy tourist area.
Excellent Hotel!”
If you're looking for a great hotel outside the Central area, but still in a fantastic location, Hotel de Hallen fits the bill. Next to the food hall and shops, with an outdoor market adjacent. It is also near a main artery of even more shops, food and tram transportation. We found the hotel to be an excellent choice and would highly recommend!
Classy”
Located next door to the Food Hallen this Hotel exudes class. Rooms are a decent size with all the required accessories. Breakfast whilst somewhat expensive is excellent, bit there are many excellent local cafes if you fancy a wander. Easy to get to from the airport, we got off at Lelylaan and got the number 17 tram. Easy to get in to the center on either the 13 or 17. All in all, unlikely to stay anywhere else in Amsterdam again. This place ticks all the boxes.
Perfect hotel”
roughly a half hour walk to get to the center of Amsterdam but it’s a beautiful walk. We walked different routes and saw different things. Rooms are Cosy and comfortable. the toilet room, My husband called it the cupboard room. Behind two doors and you had a toilet in a small room. Not a problem, it does the job! The only problem we encountered was the long wait for food from the restaurant. We decide to sit in the bar section and was told we could order food which we did. We had a small starter and pasta for our main. After 20 mins I had to ask where I starter was as we were quite hungry and tired after being out walking all day. It didn’t arrive until 30 mins later and the main meal was the same. 30 mins after the starter. It wasn’t even busy in the restaurant! We visited food hallen, went there a couple of times.weekend is busy but awesome. They had a live band playing there on Sunday. Would definately stay here again, highly recommended. Staff are lovely and very helpful.
A lovely find and easily my best stay”
Easily the best I had in Amsterdam. Helpful reception or at least the lady who checked us in, gave us wonderful tips, and she was incredibly observant. The construction next to the hotel didn't bother us too much. A food square and cinema located next to it. A morning market just 3 minutes away. I would return to Hotel De Hallen the next time I visit :)
