Great place after trek ”
After a challenging 8 day trek from Kathmandu to Dunche it was nice to reward ourselves with night at Annapurna. Room great with excellent shower - great after bucket washes. Also excellent breakfast. We did sneak out to nearby Yak and Yeti for amazing buffet lunch with real steak. I would recommend Annapurna after trek and change from thamel

short stay in Kathmandu”
The hotel is in a great location, quite close to Thamel area. The staff are friendly and helpful but it does not have the 5 star appeal of other hotels we have stayed at. There was plenty of choice for breakfast and the Indian restaurant was excellent. The pool and surrounding area is pleasant with a good bar area serving food. The room service staff added extra base covers to the bed to help soften the firm mattress although they were a bit lax in replacing toiletries. Kathmandu 10 Hotel 8

A classic is showing its age”
The Annapurna was the best hotel in Kathmandu city when I was doing fieldwork in Nepal in the early 1970s. But it was beyond my means, so I could only appreciate it from afar except for a few meals in its excellent restaurant. When I had an opportunity to return to Nepal, I booked the Annapurna at least partly from nostalgia. It was ok, the restaurant was still excellent, the room was acceptable, the price was ok, and its location remains good. But Kathmandu now has many other lodging options that are worth considering, depending on what dimensions of a hotel stay the lodger considers of high priority.

Good location/good staff but has lots of problems”
The stay was OK. The Annapurna is not a 5 start hotel, but their prices are not really 5 star prices either so it equals out. The hotel is nice but old and hasn't been kept up very well. The general room was nice but of the 3 nights I stayed I only had hot water 1 time. Also I picked the Annapurna because it had a casino and for a "club lounge room". When I arrived they had neither of these things as advertised. They tried to accommodate me but in the end even that caused more problems then solutions. Overall it is a nice hotel and if you want to be close to Thammel then it is good. Just don't expect 5 star, more like low 4 star. I would probably not stay there again.

Tradition & Warm Hospitality!”
Although the building itself is old, the room is well renovated and comfortable. The hotel with tradition and warm hospitality! The holy Annapurna shrine In the center of the lobby adds magnificence too.

Great Location, Great Hotel, Great Staff”
I would def recommend this hotel as its very well located and the facilities are very good. I did not try the restaurant as I was keen to try the offering in Thamel which is just a 10mon walk from the hotel. The staff are very friendly and courteous.

Nice Hotel. But bed's & ac quality is very poor.”
My short stay was good at de l' Annapurna. But bed was not comfortable for me. I think springs are very old and not updated. Front office people are not so good and there IQ label is very poor. They don't know where is the best movie hall. That don't take our request smiley. At the end this is an average service 5* Hotel.

A good option”
If you are looking for the following 1. Good location. It's near the Thamel district, within walking distance and there are plenty of eating places nearby 2. Access. The roads leading to the hotel is wide as there are a lot of narrow roads like those in Thamel which could be a problem for cars to access especially during raining days. Something one might consider. 3. Facilities. Most facility one would expect in a hotel like pool, gym, F&B. Gym is a bit small and under-equipped, otherwise doable. Only downside i would mention here is the internet speed is slow by international standard but otherwise i would think it's normal by local standards. I hope it would be upgraded to fibre connectivity rather than through a local wifi service provider. Overall, a good option for business traveller.

A must visit!”
We stayed for 6 nights and enjoyed every moment of our stay. The hotel's restaurant has some nice food to offer. One of the best places to stay in Kathmandu!

Everything was fine”
Overall a good place . Central . Beds comfy and staff good . Food and other services like airport transfer are overpriced bc of their status as a five star hotel. Bathrooms had a problems (all 4 rooms we had). Tub does not drain and toilet smell. I am not this place is worth what they charge but you pay the same or sometimes more for similar hotels in the area. Location location

Stay away from this place”
I stayed with Hotel Annapurna for 3 weeks during my business trip in Nepal. Rooms are very worn down. It smells bad and bathrooms seems leaking all over. They are taking their location for granted. Never again with this hotel. As I was staying with them for 3 weeks, I requested for late check out, but one of the staff told me she would allow late check out only if I was ready to pay 50% of the chargea

A bit over priced”
While the hotel is nice and the staff were very friendly there are equally great hotels in KTM which are cheaper and a better value for money. There was no internet except in the lobby, however you can buy internet for $17! a day. I prefer to stay at Summit hotel for my business travel and will be staying there next time.

Below expectations ”
We booked a double room. We got 2 single beds put together, and could still feel the joint area even after covered by a duvet. All items in the room were provided for one person only - water bottle, cups, robe, room slippers. Toothbrushes they forgot to put in we had to ask for all those items. Situated on ground floor - our curtains were closed, but thankfully we checked our window, it was unlocked and slightly ajar. Spa Price Listing was said by them to be inside the room but nowhere to be found. Next Day after Housekeeping when we returned in the evening, we noticed our window was again slightly ajar and unlocked! Prices we were paying for and standard definitely didn't match. Friendly Staff, and Excellent Indian Food at the Restaurant.

Great location but tired hotel and grumpy desk staff”
I booked through the Internet and could only get a 'club' room. In fact this didn't seem to have any advantage as the room was tired, there were no 'club' facilities offered to us, the room had a view of the roof of a marquee set up in the garden for a trade exhibition and the swimming pool was empty. The front desk staff were surly almost to the point of being rude. We had to ask 4 times and wait for an hour to get towels for our room. However, the concierge services were excellent and very helpful. On balance there are so many places to stay in Kathmandu and many in the same location as the Annapurna so I would advise to go elsewhere and only stay here as a last resort!
