Comfortable and safe "no frills" hotel”
I was just wanting a room for the night as I was visiting family nearby and had just arrived in Paris after a long-haul flight. I didn't order breakfast or ask for much, and was happy with the basic standards + the price. After reading bad reviews I was concerned, but it was fine, especially for the price in Paris. The hotel is an unrenovated small hotel in a great area behind the Louvre, not far from the Pompidou. It's narrow with around 2-3 rooms per floor, very steep, narrow stairs, shared wc per floor, and one bathroom for the whole building (I only saw 1 bathroom, although possibly there are others). The bathroom had no visible light switch and the tiny shower was up on a platform, with a blocked drain. Yuk. The manager said he'd fix it. Despite the hotel's "quirky" features, I slept really well as the bed was clean, fresh and soft. My room had beautiful double windows to the street below with its bar noises, which were no problem, as it is central Paris after all. The room also had a sink, small table and chest of drawers. The manager was very helpful, nice, and honest. There was a big lock on the door. I could hear the arrival of my neighbours as if they were in my room, but they were polite + kept quiet, so this wasn't a problem either. I like old places. A few broken features did not bother me. The stairwell was gorgeous.

bare minimum hotel with good location”
It is located a few minutes' walk from Louvre hotel. Outside hotel, there are a few cafes offering food till late. The facility is bare minimum. No lift, shower facility may be 2 stories away from your room, small shared toilet. Although the reception is 24 hours, you need to press the bell hard to wake up the receptionist. But it servers its purpose if you want a hotel near Louvre.

Good Location”
It's good location to go everywhere, near Louvre, many restaurants and stores. and there is a supermarket cross the road, very convenient.

fantastic position - good hostel.”
This was a perfect location. Behind the Louvre and Tuileries Gardens. Hotel is basic, but secure. One shower on 3rd floor, toilet on the 4th. But my room had a sink. Don't expect too much, and you will be satisfied. The location was just so good.

Cute & Very Convenient”
The place is cute and fair enough. It is just as what we expected before visiting - nothing fancy, nothing extra, but decent enough for a group just wanting to hang out around Paris for 2-3 days. If you plan to stay for a longer time in Paris though, I would suggest to get a nicer place since you'd be spending more time in the room. The rooms are basic (in a good way), we were expecting common/shared toilets but thankfully we got a room with its own t&b (room #6 good for 3 people). Administrators were nice and helpful. They also let you leave your luggages in their lounge area so you can go around town before checkin and after checkout. Lovely place, cute interior detailing, not for the neat and fancy though - perfect for the adventurous!

Good Location”
The location is good because the hotel is near Musee de Louvre. However, when I first day check in, an old woman said that I have not paid, but in fact I have paid ; Luckily a male staff help me.

jimbo”
it's a question of 'what you will accept' to stay centrally in a good area of Paris. I was on business on a budget so i accepted the trade off with a room fit for very little, a mini en-suite with basic fittings, threadbare carpets and 50 year old decor & no TV. There was as a decent sized comfortable bed with fresh sheets & pillows. i didnt sleep much due to noise outside, but this is normal in my experience of heartland lower rise Paris. You get what you pay for, i won't stay again nor would i take my partner here. If you are on a budget and like to be in the thick of the Louvres, les Halles etc, this is an option...also take a bottle of wine or two so you don't notice the conditions. There is a decent mini mart just around the corner and several buzzy restaurants bang outside. I just wonder why fully grown adults owning this hotel cannot pick up a paint brush or visit a DIY centre to improve certain aspects, A £50k makeover would radically improve things for them in my opinion.

Not a cozy hotel”
We chose this hotel because it's one of the cheapest we can find, and it is near the musee de louvre. Unfortunately we regretted that decision upon arrival. Firstly, we had to carry our heavy suitcases in 8 flights of stairs. These steps are steep and circular at the ends, and the landings are small. Then the room itself looks worn out. The carpet feels rough, and we suspect it is not being cleaned regularly. The bathroom is cramped and dirty. There's no AC so we had to endure the heat of Paris during the night. The only plus point is it's location.

Good location”
This is a budget hotel, but was ok. Good for short stays, we were there 2 nights only. We were all day out for sightseeing so for us it was perfect, we were only at the hotel for sleep. We had the room with private bathroom, I booked that on purpose, because I do not like spare bathrooms. The room was clean and comfy.

Acceptable”
Close to Musee Louvre, but that is immaterial as the subway is very efficient. We stayed in a room with private bath, the shower drape was very dirty. Overall, the room was very uninviting, the carpets and curtain drapes were old. There were dust everywhere. The room color was dull yellow. The internet was good though, no need for password.

My daughter and I were very disappointed.”
The hotel is very run down. Our shared shower was on the first floor and our tiny room on the 4th. The shower was tiny and the light seldom worked. Our toilet was on the same floor, the toilet leaked. The room was tiny and cold. We had a space heater but it hardly fit in the room. The walls are paper thin so guest arriving, leaving and talking was very disruptive. There is no TV (we were looking forward to seeing some French TV). We also slept on top of the covers on the bed in fear of bed bugs although we didn't actually see any and we saw they were changing some of the mattresses but don't know why. (They probably change ours AFTER we left.) The internet was good and the location in the middle of Paris is wonderful. The location was well worth all the other issues.

Modest comfortable budget hotel in great location”
Served my needs well as I needed this location but spent very little time in the hotel. It was warm despite freezing weather. Room was tiny. Outside toilet and shower difficult to use, being so small.

very budget”
Just ok to stay just for a few days. Very budge. But I think Paris is over rate full stop.

Not that great”
Paris is an expensive city but it is better to spend a bit extra and stay at a nicer hotel. Though the location is excellent, the hotel itself is fairly old and not the cleanest. There is no elevator so if you're traveling with a lot of luggage you'll have to carry it up the creaky staircase yourself.

Don't bother”
I read previous reviews telling people to steer clear and I figured the people leaving negative reviews were just being picky. We had the double room with private bathroom and aside from the location I don't think it was really worth it. The bathroom was covered in mould and smelt quite bad and we only got housekeeping twice in 6 days. The saving grace was the location, and the bed was quite comfortable. But I wouldn't recommend, and I wouldn't stay again.
