Old hotel but comfortable stay”
I love the hotel because it serve nice buffet breakfast, a relaxing swimming pool, near to alot of amenities and food. Its old but I really dont mind. Just outside the hotel (leftside of entrance) you can find: - barber/hairdresser shops - noodle shop - coffee shop - a bicycle rental shop Opposite street of hotel, you can find: - kitty cafe (charge/spend 100b per person) - massage place (charge thaimassage 200b per hr) - a nice food restaurant at the corner - walk across the temple, there is a laundry place opposite a hostel ( charge 40b per kilo) Walking distance 15mins to Khaosan area. Cheers.
Not recommended. ”
Very dated room and immunities. The WIFI was the worst for any recent hotel I have stayed. The staff was aware of the bad WiFi and receive many complaints ... which means the management knows but does nothing about it. What else are they not taking care of. The girls working the front desk were friendly and nice. The AC was not cold enough. You have a lot of choices in this area of Bangkok. Stay somewhere else.
Worth every penny.”
The rooms are very clean and spacious. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The locality was perfect for us, as we love the Khousan area, only a ten-minute walk. The swimming pool is a good extra, and last but not least the buffet breakfast was fantastic. Great variety to please everyone. We booked again on our return to Bangkok for our last few nights in Thailand.
Value for money , walking distance to Koh San Road, big pool, friendly staff ”
WiFi not good , no kettle in room ( I am a coffee addict) for the price of this hotel , it was everything I needed !
Excellent location, close to Khao San road and good value for money. The staff went out of their way to print our documents late at night and they did not charge us for the one night we had to cancel due to unforeseen circumstances. Just one thing: a fan would have been great in the room, it was sooooo hot at night. I would recommend them for an affordable stay over in Bangkok.
Clean, spacious room, great recovery from hostels”
Stayed here for our last two nights in Thailand. The hotel is big and room is very spacious with a nice balcony. There is an outdoor pool with tanning space. Staff was very accommodating and friendly. We were shocked to have a tub in the bathroom and good shower water pressure.
awesome hotel not far from Khao sarn rd maybe like 5 mins walk.. great pool.. 3m deep end.. large clean rooms..though alittle old they were nice and full of hard wood furniture.. nice little balcony space to relax. I recommend it
Fab hotel, would recommend ”
We really enjoyed our stay here. On arrival we were welcomed by the friendly staff and given a drink. Got to our room and it was nice, had a view of the front and pool. Pool was nice, perfect for chilling. About 10 mins walk to Khao San Road or easy to jump on a Tuk tuk. We ate at the hotel mostly and can say the food was really nice, they do a buffet breakfast for 150 baht each too. Nice little cafe open for food and cocktails too. They happily booked our taxi back to the airport for us. Will definitely be recommending this hotel to friends.
This is my third year in a row travelling to Bangkok. I have stayed in at least 10 different hotels around the city and this is my favourite. 10 minute walk from Khao San so it's not as busy or noisy. Large clean rooms with nice bed and balcony. Good breakfast buffet with western and Thai options. Nice pool and good restaurant and cafe. Staff is very friendly and helpful and they all speak English quite well. Excellent value for the price. Always my first choice when coming to Bangkok...I highly recommend it!
Great Location for Rajdamnern Areas!”
If someone goes to work, meeting at UN or Government Institutions, this Hotel is the good choice at medium/modest cost. Walking distance to even Khaosan area, Grand Palace, etc. What I most like is staff's traditional hands greeting every morning, though not all, but most of them, including guards. One incident I got on last day was slippery and fell down in the bahth-tube, the equipment that is inconvenience. Shower should have been at flat space as well for men or people at older age as bath-tube is mostly for ladies. Thanks.
Positives vs Negatives:”
Though the location is fine or perfect for the UN Building or Grand Palace, within walking distance) as well as local foods convenient, but there are comfortable points to comments for improvements or changing: 1. Room Smelling; 2. Hot Water not enough; 3. Air Con's cooler; 4. Lift is too slow! Thanks and coming again for sure as I can bear with that 4 points for my work area. If for holiday, I won't. Best Regards,
Lovely hotel an easy walk to the Khao San Road”
Good value for money. It's a 10-15 minute walk to the Khao san road but there's also a regular free tuk-tuk to go there. The room was large with a nice balcony. The free wifi was good. I enjoyed my stay here.
Good location which located near democratic monument. The hotel look very classic style like you go back to year 1960. Small area in front for sit and relax. The room large enough for relax and balcony look great! It was convenient to go. Just unfortunately, we got the room close to the street and then quite noisy to hear the car run at night. Except that perfect in what we need include the staff well train.
Classy Place near Koh San Road and Other Great Sig”
The hotel is really nice. The pool is one of the few deep pools I encountered in Asia and it felt great, especially in the Bangkok heat. The location never seemed to be more than 80 Baht away from anything, much of the sights are far cheaper to get to. The staff is great. They lined up a tour of the Tiger Temple. The bellhop/concierge would also get taxis to give us metered rates and explain where we wanted to go. All around great place.
Great location and services”
great hotel near khoa san road. the check in process was efficient, the ac worked great, the 2 free bottles of water a day was a nice touch. having the pool and restaurants there was great after long days exploring the city. the room itself was basic, but large. the tv was an old crt, but we never used it. we were also able to easily book an early morning taxi back to the airport direct from the hotel. would stay here again.
Friendly and very clean hotel. Quiet location.”
the reception and staff were very attentive and helpful during our stay. we had a small issue with the restaurant in that they asked us if we wanted to come in for breakfast buffet(this was 9.45am. we paid the each ad sat down then we were told that the restaurant closed at 10 so we had to go up and get our food before they cleared it away. i think they sensed we weren't too happy about this and brought us out a plate of fresh fruit as there was none left at this time. the other food that was left was ok. location wise it is about a 10-15 min walk from khao san road so is nice and quiet. as other reviewers have said there is a free tuk tuk to ksr but whenever we tried to go to use it, it was away taking other guests places so it ended up being quicker to walk.
Keep on loving it!”
great room, got upgraded!! - amazing staff (extremely!) - proximity (but not too much) from khao san - complimentary 30 mins massage - wifi in room, free of charge (very important to me). this deal/hotel made ma an agoda addict!
De Moc is now home for me!”
This was my second stay at this hotel. I had a great experience the first 5 times. I'm going back to bangkok in 1 month and this is definitely where i will stay again. It starts to feel like home and thet make me feel like home. I went to scout for hotels around and i honnestly think this is the best we can get for this value. The staff is simply amazing,
Pleasant stay at De Moc”
My girlfriend and I had a pleasant stay at De Moc Hotel. Staffs were friendly and helpful, always on the lookout to see if we need any help. Breakfast variety can be improved but not really an issue if you are not fussy about that. Complimentary tuk tuk service to Khao San Road, didn't get a chance to use the service though. Otherwise, hotel staff will always be happy to arrange for tuk tuk transport for you to where you want to go. They will try to help a little with the rates but for short distance, its usually 40 baht, and about 100 baht to get to National Museum. So if you are pretty good at bargaining, it's better to get a tuk tuk just outside the hotel. Overall a clean and comfortable environment to rest and relax after walking the whole day.
De Moc Hotel”
This hotel was very close to the hustle and bustle of Bangkok. The rooms were a decent size and most had a balcony. The hotel was extremely helpful in booking tours and the restaurant had a great selection of Western items to eat. The breakfast included was an added bonus.
