            Charmed by this hotel”

            For one I thought I would try a 3 stars hotel, and was charmed by this place. My view of French hotels is very much: French hotels are awful: small, noisy, ungemutlich...so for me to write a good review on one is a novelty. Pros: rooms are bigger than standard 3*, they are more like French 4* hotels. Nicely decorated, not overly bland nor chintzy. Comfortable bed. Good sound proofing from the street (corridors not so much, but very few rooms so not a problem). Good bathroom (enough space, good shower). Nice property overall, no facilities, but still pleasant (breakfast is served in the room). Nice welcoming staff. Feels more like a private house than a hotel...there is something intimate and personal about this hotel, without being overbearing and intrusive. Very good location: many restaurants near by, main shopping artery meters away, opposite the Hermes shop, next door to the arts museum St Augustin, and for those so inclined: on the same street as the catholic chapel of St Jean Baptiste. Breakfast was French and terribly simple, nothing exciting compared to what is served in Asia, but good quality, home made yogurt, french bakery items from the local baker...good. Cons: wifi is not the best and they don't take American Express...hardly anything dramatic :-)))
