Great little hotel in heart of historic district ”

There's not much English spoken here, so if you freak out at not being able to communicate easily, this might be a problem. However, the young man now on afternoon/evening duty (3-11) lived in the US most his life so is bilingual. Morning staff aren't, though they can rustle up someone to translate as needed. This by way of preface to saying it's a MEXICAN hotel - not a typical tourist spot for English speakers. It's a couple blocks out of the touristy part of the historic district (which seems to have only Spanish-speaking tourists; I was quite startled at the almost total absence of Americans/Canadians/Europeans here). There are 10 or more museums within a few blocks walk, as well as bustling restaurants/bars/shops. Lots of live street theatre, etc. Again, the hotel is just outside this area (2 blocks) so thankfully, you miss most of the noise! Back to the hotel itself - it's not got walls of concrete or anything, but my room (3rd floor) was pretty quiet, though I was next to the linen closet, which means there were some times when I heard the cleaning crew going in and out. But no big deal unless you are super-sensitive to noise. I gave the restaurant a 3 star in part for convenience. The food is OK - nothing special - but prices are in line with what I see of posted prices in restaurants nearby, and they open early enough for breakfast (I think 7) and stay open until 10 or so, which is quite handy.

The hotel is rght on the metro bus route to reach airport in about one hour .. Way more reliable than taxis if at rushhours. Staff at Diligencias were superbly helpful and restaurant was great for a pancake breakfast as well as other options. Small, clean, great facility for reasonable small price.

Easy check-in and check-out. Economical but clean”

It was one of the most bargain-priced hotels listed on Agoda. I'm familiar with the city, and it's location was ideal for where I was going to be spending most of my time. Also, the new MetroBus line passes right in front of the hotel - so it is super convenient to get to and from the airport using public transportation. For someone traveling on a budget, I would highly recommend this hotel. It is clean and "quiet" (it is located in the Centro Historico....so no hotel in the Centro Historico is necessarily really really quiet). I would stay there again if I needed to travel to Mexico City again and stay at a budget hotel. The restaurant wasn't that great - but there are various other options around on the street.

Good value central hotel”

This is a charming old-school hotel with typewriters and rotary phones. No frills but, unlike other such hotels in Mexico, it's clean and almost everything works: the shower has 24 hour hot water with excellent pressure, the beds are clean and comfortable, and the location is central. Negatives: Wi-fi connection in the room was not very good, but it worked. Also, lots of noisy kids in the adjacent square until the early hours of the morning.

No, there is nothing to complain, the staff is very fiendly,Senor Carlos at reception speaks english well and also one kitchen assistant speaks english well, the rooms are comfortable, they have DW TC channel - Deutsche Welle, they have a proper room safe, the Location of the Hotel is absolutely convenient - only 5 min walk to Torre Latinoamericano, the postoffice and some Museums are nearby,in other words a fantastic mark is justified - a new lift is presenly beeing installed, regards P. When we arrived at the hotel we showed our booking from Agoda and we were shown to our room after filling in a check in form. The room they first gave us was a queen bed room, but after we went downstairs to talk to the receptionist, with the gentleman who showed us the room, we got our king sized room.The room was big enough, had bedside tables, phone, fan, desk and chairs and extra table/bench and a closet with a light in it.The room had also large windows and that could be opened and there were black out curtains. It was best to keep those curtains closed during the day otherwise it would get too hot in the room. The bathroom was big enough and had a window and we were supplied every day with clean towels and soap and shampoo. Negative was the noise from outside:bring earplugs!!!

This hotel is in Centro. It's near to all attractions. The staffs are nice.

Noisiest hotel I have ever stayed in”

Our stay was not good. There were police sirens and burglar alarms at all hours of the day and night, making sleep difficult. WiFi in the room was virtually non-existent, despite the fact that we had requested for a room located near a router for strong WiFi reception. Hotel elevator was boarded-up, so there is obviously no intention of repairing it. Strange odor in our room, perhaps originating from the cleaning fluid used. Inconvenient location of AC electricity outlets (none near the bedside for plugging in our electronics).

Garabaldi Plaza is a 5 min walk where you'll find all choices of restaurants, mariachi and busker entertainment. Bakery next door is always a temptation.
