“AVOID SPA/MASSAGE AT ALL COSTS”
Hotel: Hotel du Parc offers excellent value for money. The service was exquisite and staff were attentive throughout my stay. While the property itself is relatively old, it is well maintained. The toilets were clean, comfortable, and well kept, which made a positive difference. Dining – Azabu Restaurant: Azabu, the Michelin-listed Japanese restaurant, was a highlight. The food was fantastic and very good value for money. Quality, presentation, and overall experience exceeded expectations. Spa: Unfortunately, the spa experience was extremely disappointing and I would strongly advise avoiding it. The massage was poorly executed and lacked effort — the therapist frequently used only one hand with minimal pressure. While the first 10 minutes started off reasonably well, the quality quickly declined. The back massage was particularly bad, with repeated pressure applied directly on the spine rather than the surrounding muscles during the shiatsu massage. There was almost no actual muscle work. Even after requesting stronger pressure on the muscles, it was only applied briefly before returning to a weak, ineffective massage. To make matters worse, the spa pricing is easily two to three times higher than massages outside the hotel, making it very poor value for money. This was by far the worst part of the stay, and I would not recommend the spa to anyone. I entered the spa with a sore back but left with back pain.
