Great hotel - not great value but you get what you pay for”

Solid 4.5-star hotel suitable for business travelers. Used to be the Hotel Nikko and the Japanese influence, attention to detail, and service standards are still there. Rooms are large. The building is old but rooms are kept very clean and up to date. Only complaint is that it is a little bit too expensive for what it is, but if it is within your budget then you can't really go wrong with choosing this hotel.

      Excellent experience ”

I had very quick & smooth check-in, Ms Phuong at Reception desk asked to change my room to the more suitable one without me noticing it, that shows they really care. All the staffs from bellboys to housekeepers are very attentive. And the hotel is super clean, exactly the Japanese standards that guests can look for. I’ll definitely come back.

This is not new hotel this is old hotel. The hotel room so old, smell and dirty. When I check-in this hotel they ask me give to their my credit card ( it not safe ). I booked with the breakfast include for free but when i go to restaurant in this hotel they said my booking was not have breakfast. So staff are worst.

      Professional hotel and staff”

Check in very fast, in 1m I got the key Clean, quiet, worth the price. Located near lake so the air around is clean and the atmosphere is so peaceful. 10m away from the Old Quarter hustle. Travelers mostly are Japanese so you have very polite and quiet people around. I requested water bottle and within 1m from the call, the house keeper was at the door. Amazing. The Benkay restaurant in the hotel is excelent Would definitely come back.

      Good but not best”

I have stayed at a few 5-star hotels in Hanoi but I have to say that their staffs are all the same. The lady at the reception had a very bad first impression with no smile and asked me if my friend and I would like to stay at 2 rooms because she saw that my booking was just for one person. I booked via Agoda and that is the default of 1 room 2 persons. It seems that they don't know how to smile to guests. Instead of asking if we were going to stay at 2 rooms, she could just ask in another more friendly way. And when she realised that she was wrong about the booking information, there was no sorry from her. Apart from that, we got a very nice room with views to 2 streets. The room was very clean and in a nice decoration and the bed was very comfy too. However, the location is not really good as it is pretty far from Old Quarter and other lakes. The taxi drivers did not know where the hotel was and took an extra round to bring us back to the hotel. It is located at a bend of 2 busy streets.

A very good Hotel in Hanoi with friendly staff”

One thing I like most in this hotel is the friendly staff that they employ. From the very first day you check in you already feel welcome. My family and I stayed in this hotel for 6 nights and we enjoyed every moment of it. From the door man, the concierge, reception, restaurant staff, housekeeping and of course your two girl staff at night in the executive lounge were really very accommodating to all our request. Breakfast is ok and the rooms is always kept clean by the house keeping. I would like to mention also Ms. Thuy of your sales who was more than willing to waive charges in my room since i had to cut our vacation for something very important to attend to in our country. There is only one thing that shocked me in this hotel. It is your charges for your local call. I was charged US .30/min for a local which i had to make at your business center. I was wondering why i wasnt charge when I asked concierge twice to contact my travel agent, and when i asked the help fromyour staff in the nikko lounge to order pizza delivery for me. And one more thing I wasnt issued a receipt for my payment which I paid in cash in your business center. I hope you can check on your charges for local calls. Its kinda expensive knowing that local calls are not being billed on a per minute basis. Other than this I dont have any other complain with hotel nikko and would definetly recommend it to my friends.

Hotel Nikko is very clean and comfortable. The staff service is excellent. The Nikko lounge does not have much to offer compared to the Hilton Opera Hotel's concierge lounge. The breakfast choices are limited.

Comfortable Japanese hotel in Hanoi centeral”

Comfortable bath room, clean facilities, and relaxed atmosphere with gentle staffs

I stayed only one night for business meeting held close to the hotel. My room was fortunately upgrade to the premium room for free, so that, the room was so nice, particularly in large-size bath and toilet with water shower. It offered very comfortable environment for doing my job by very high speed wireless Internet service. In addition, the breakfast at the Japanese restaurant was very delicious and as good as ones in Japan. On the other hand, one thing I felt stressed was very slow elevators. There were three elevators, but they were always crowded and took time for moving. And the price looked more expensive than I expected, considering standard. It was also awkward that many group customers sometimes gathered and had meetings at the ground flower. But, overall, I got satisfied with Nikko Hoel Hanoi, and would like to stay again.

TV channels are limited, a bit far off from old quarters.

If you don't like busy streets and crowded areas, Nikko can be a good location to stay. Rooms are spacious and clean, it has been maintained very well. The toilet has installed with automatic cleasing device which is nice. Only complain is the breakfast is too expensive, however it has light meal on room service menu. TV channels are limited and they still yet to install flat LCD TV. Overall it is an excellent hotel, worth for money (without breakfast).

Smell of the kitchen in the nearby brasserie and in the elevators!

The hotel is close to the train station and the historic old quarter is to be reached on foot. The staff is friendly but they offer a too expensive late check out! until 3 pm 50% and after 6 pm 100% of the room charge. quiet atmosphere in the lobby. Fantastic japanese toilets in the rooms! Breakfast is mostly targeted on japanese guests. More assortments of bread and sausage, cheese would be appreciated by european guests! Overall a good choice!

Sometimes you can hear the horn from the railway train.

The atmosphere is a bit Japanese. I had a king size bed for my stay. The room is big for single stay. The breakfast is average for 5 star hotels. The price is very reasonable for 5 star hotel in Hanoi compared with other 5 star hotels. I would definitely use it next time.
