Room was small but clean and quiet. Towels, soap, hair dryer, extra blanket all there. Public transportation very close. Weak WiFi signal on the 2th floor. Check-in and check-out any time of day and night.

Clean and well connected but outdated ”
Clean room, comfortable bed, tiny bathroom not recommended for tall people. The limited carpark is handy and the tram stops just few steps away. The elevator was broken but they helped us with the luggage upstairs. The hotel is basic, 2 stars and is outdated. Good for a couple of nights.

Value for money ”
Stayed at this hotel for only 2 days, whilst the rooms are very small & not too clean the location was good for us. There is a cafe:bar attached which is very reasonable in price with excellent staff & service. There is a bus stop across the road which takes you into Venice only 7 euro return. I would return

Really incredibly Rude manager, we also witnessed him being rude to other clients, the hotel states, “city view” from rooms, this actually means you need to stand on a chair to see out of the window, and I am over 5ft 7inches, also even though breakfast is advertised in the room, breakfast has not been served for over 2 years, when you ask about breakfast you will receive a tirade of how dare you expect breakfast. Coffee and tea are listed as available in each room, this is not true. The whole hotel is dated, the photos on the website must have been taken many years ago. I don’t normally take the time to write a review but this hotel is so shocking to stay in I believe other people should be warned.

Terrible hotel with absolutely not three stars at all”
We found it is absolutely a cheat! We paid for 80 euro for a night. It’s absolutely not like the rooms in pics. It shows three stars but we think not even deserve any star, worse than a hostel. First, we received a very cold welcome from the receptionist who just wear a very casual dress with poor English, with no presentation and no explanation for anything until we asked, he is not professional at all and a bit rude attitude. Second, once open the room door where has full of cigarette smell. Third, the room is like a ghost house with dark light and mysterious atmosphere. Fourth, the bath is mouldy and the bath door is broken. Fifth, very poor sound separation, always can hear the next room close the door very strongly. Cause of the door is hardly closed probably. Never recommend to anyone. Horrible!!!

Great hotel”
we loved this hotel! it takes about 20 minutes to get to venice but it really isn't a big deal because the bus stop is located very near the hotel and is very accessible to the marco polo airport too (takes only about 15 minutes). the breakfast at the hotel is really awesome. the sumptious spread gets refilled promptly and we were served by pleasant staff. i was awaken with the lovely smell of croissants each morning. the food was good and it made breakfast a really enjoyable time. the rooms were clean and comfortable. the toilet was good and provided sufficient space for shower. the room had a balcony and it was quite nice. overall, we loved the hotel. great stay!

All in all, it's a good hotel”
Actually, the hotel has many advantages 1) Well located. It's kind of farm from Venice center, but the transportation to Venice central is so easy with bus. Whereas, the bus station is in front of the hotel. Moreover, you will not pay more than the normal daily ticket to travel from the hotel to the Marco Polo Airport and to return back, because there's this public bus(45) where you can use to drop you in front of the hotel. 2) Hotel staff are extremely friendly and cooperative. Gave me a map when I asked them and told me the best places to visit and how to get to them. 3) Good breakfast food was served. The hotel has some minor disadvantages, but actually not that serious 1) The room wasn't that big. 2) You cann't checkin before 2 pm!

A little get away yet close to Venice”
Hotel itself is not located in the Venice. Need to take bus to Venice but the bus stop is 20m from the hotel and was really easy to access. It tool us about 20 min to Venice and we had no problem with catching the bus. However, last bus was about 9pm so you need to arrange your time properly or take a cab back to the hotel if you had a late night drink in Venice. There breakfast was pretty good with various choices of the food.

Affordable hotel close to Venice”
Room was kept always clean but was a tad small. It can get very noisy if clients in neighboring rooms get loud. Bus 19 can take you to Venice directly and it stops operating at 10. Bus 4 can be taken to the city as well but you have to take the T1 to Colombo first and switch to bus 4. It is operational until 1 a.m. Both stops for buses and tram are just a few meters away from this hotel. Staff are also helpful specially the ladies at the reception and in the dining area. All in all, I had a good stay despite the poor weather. The hotel price is very reasonable compared to what you have to pay for in Venice.

Our stay was very pleasant, and our only regret was that we did not booked to stay for more than one night. I would definitely stay at Hotel Ducale again, and also recommend it to friends.
