Near to the historical Centre ”
Hotel El Salvador is located a stone 's throw away from the historical centre of Mexico City , very walkable , approx 5-10mins . Even through the neighbourhood it is located in is not as commercialised , we see police patrolling and don't feel unsafe . The hotel is clean and modern . There is wifi and computers for use. Only problem we encountered was that almost all their staff spoke Spanish , mainly or exclusively . Not a problem if you know Spanish , but we did not and had a bit of difficulty communicating

Clean - Perfect location”
Nice room - everything ok - kind, informative staff, pleasant. The location is the biggest selling point - near the historical part of the city - many restaurants in walking distance - no heat, so it was very cold in the room. Comfy bed and pillows - warm shower -

I stayed here before - had a perfect experience - nice beds/pillows/room, staff helpful, great 4 night stay with a perfect location - near the historical center plus many restaurants nearby. This time, the 4 night stay was difficult with very loud guests around me.

Exceptional”
Okay, when we checked the room details, we didn't see any AC or Fan listed but we didn't think the room wouldn't have either, really. We were kind of shocked at first, but then we realized that there is also none in reception and restaurant areas. We came to understand that the hotel has a quite good ventilation system which can keep it cool at most time. Yes, the room can only get cooler after midnight, so if you have just come back from walking under the sun, you should take a shower, that'd help. The restaurant serves good food as well, and the waiters do ask for tip at exact 10% of the food. The room is clean and the location of the hotel is good, can't complain on those.

Great location but stuffy room”
Staff was friendly and helpful. Maids were thorough and cordial. The room was dry and stuffy and I had trouble breathing. I ran the shower hot for a while and it helped humidify the room. I'll ask for a streetside room next time. WiFi and phone signals are bad but free internet stations are nice. Nice restaurant, reasonable prices.

Better then what I expected”
arrived at dark in a taxi from the airport, stayed for a night, paid $30 and got a comfortable bed, clean shower and toilet, and taxi arrangement with the hotel staff help. very satisfied and happy customer. will come back again if in need.

Nice hotel”
Good hotel considering the price. Location is great, near San Juan de Letran subway station. Zocalo is just 10 mins away on foot. The street is a busy electronics business area so I think the rooms facing the street must be noisy. Our room was next to the elevator and it's pretty quiet except the hotel guests walking by sometimes, we can hear them in the room. Front desk night guy was kind and helpful, speaks English.

The location of the hotel is nice, close to the metro station and the tourist sites (just few blocks from the hotels, about 15-20 mins walk). The staff are helpful and nice. The room rate is absolutely good for money.

Good location and reasonable price”
Reasonable price, room was decent but it wasn't a non-smoking room. I don't know if they have non-smoking rooms, but I was never asked which one I wanted. A tour to e.g. Teotihuacan was easily booked at the reception.

value for money for clean budget room. the room was clean but bathroom was very small. located just 10 mins walk from the main square and very close to the metro. male receptionist friendly and helpful. female recpionist needs more people skill training. hotel restaurant very slow, don't ever bother.

Staff gave extra blankets for cold temps - location is excellent for sightseeing. Nice bed and pillows - no international news stations on the tv - housekeeping staff was very friendly and helpful. recommended

Well located, slightly tired but comfortable hotel”
Double room became a twin, mirrors were filthy, basin sink was plugged full of hair and didn't drain well. Bathroom roof was mouldy, towels weren't spotless and there was no hand towel. Facet and tap both leaked onto bathroom vanity so everythng got soaked. Door handle was broken and almost off the door, so getting into the room was a 5 minute exercise. Elevator was slow, interesting and there was only one, so don't be in a rush. Well located though.

It was a fine, overnight stay. I was looking for somewhere centrally located and I did. I'd recommend for someone just wanting to be close to everything on a budget. No frills.
