Best location next to Kyoto Station, as well as the shopping district/food”
I usually look for hotels that are as close to the station as possible when I'm in Japan. Hotel Elcient Kyoto was called El Inn Kyoto when we first went, and we thought everything was clean and very straightforward. The rooms were a great size with all our luggage, and made it convenient to jump around from the Fushimi Inari to all food/sightseeing in Gion. We'll definitely come back as it was so convenient even with a lot of luggage.

Very near to JR Kyoto Station; Standard sized room; With view of the Shinkansen”
Specifically booked this hotel due to its proximity to Kyoto Station. Just across the road in fact. Was pleasantly surprised that it is not only near to Kyoto Station, but it is also situated on the JR station side, which means we do not have to walk the length of the station to get to the Shinkansen station to Tokyo. Best located (for my purpose) hotel for me and my small family. There is a kimono rental shop just at the entrance and the selection was small but very beautiful. I personally did not rent from there but from what I can observed, it is a convenient place to start for your kimono experience. They charged around 3900 yen when I was there. There is a small Lawson right across the street from the hotel, in case you came back late from your excursion and in need of refreshment. The shops at Kyoto Station generally close at 10PM. Some earlier. Specifically booked this hotel due to its proximity to Kyoto Station. Just across the road in fact. Onsen + Near JR Station, I'm sold! ”
El Inn Kyoto is just a mere 5 minutes walk away from JR Kyoto station. It was really accessible and we had no problems looking for the hotel. Room may be a wee bit tiny for the two of us with large luggages but once we shifted things around a bit we managed to make the best of the space. In all fairness, El Inn already exceeded expectations with their public onsen, I enjoyed bathing there so much that I went there every night. There's also a Lawson's nearby if you fancy a snack. Below the hotel there's a kimono rental shop as well. Definitely a hotel for couples or individuals and I highly recommend it if you are like us, only using the hotel to sleep and spending most of the day travelling around Kyoto and other parts of Japan. Really enjoyable experience with El Inn.

Exceptional”
Location wise, the hotel is perfect as it is right next to Kyoto station, and is highly accessible to all the key sightseeing locations. Also there is a mall with a huge Don Quijote located right opposite the hotel, and several convenience stores right next to the hotel. Amenities wise, the hotel is clean and comfortable - nothing to nit pick about as well. They also provide various complimentary toiletries (mouthwash, moisturiser etc) at the lobby in addition to the basic ones found in the room. However, just a small note that toilet might be too small for people who are taller as it felt quite cramped even for a 1.6m person. Lastly, the onsen was clean and safe too - an additional passcode is required for the women’s bath and it was well equipped with all the toiletries you need. The complimentary cup noodles from 9pm to 11pm was delicious as well.

Very convenient hotel near Kyoto Station”
Very nice and convenient hotel, located just crossing the main road of the Kyoto Station West (south) Exit. The rooms are quite small but very clean and modern/minimalistic designed. The hot bath is open until 23:00 and I’m sure you will appreciate it after a long working/sightseeing day. The only flaw is the size of the room, if you travel with children or with a big load of luggage (there’s not too much space to unload things)... Otherwise, being on a single, couple or business trip, it’s a smart and well balanced quality/price choice. The food at the restaurant is delicious, worth the money and the staff speaks fluent english.

Very nice hotel at right location”
This hotel is located very very near to Kyoto station (just ooposite) which is near the Coach bus terminal. It is a old hotel that has renovated with very nice design. Japanese yukata is proivded for your convenience to visit the Big baht house at level 2. The room has multiple USB plugs for you to charge your devices (WOW!). The room decoration is sleek and simplicity mode. The ground floor restaurant provides very nice buffet breakfast (both jap / western), really good with varieties. There is a shopping mall with Don Qijitote just within 50m so you can simply do you shopping for cheap items. I would love to stay in this hotel for my next trip. Fantastic location and accommodation.

Excellent location, value for money! ”
Good location, just 5-minute walk from JR Kyoto Train Station and shopping mall. 2 big malls, Kyoto Avanti is opposite, and bigger mall AEON mall 5 min walk. Hotel provides wet and dry laundry machines which is coin operated and password protected, and ramen noodle and drink vending machines selling fresh milk and best is public sauna pool. The room is cosy (comfortable and mattress and comfortable) and clean with all the appliances. The room is new, i guess they just renovated the room. Varieties of tv channels, HD tv.

Great Hotel in Kyoto Station”
The Hotel in very near Kyoto Station. Only a 3 minute walk. We had a hard time finding the hotel on our first night because we arrive very late and the exit in Kyoto Station that the Hotel advertises to use is already close at 11 pm. We got lost in finding the hotel only to find out it is just in front of the bus station and mall and beside a 7 eleven. The rooms are not that big but just right for 2 to 3 guest. The on-site onsen is a bonus and is a good relaxation after a whole day of walking. They gave free cup noodles in the lobby during 9- 11 pm which is a good freebie for hotel guest.

Top Choice in Kyoto, Would Stay Again”
A very well located hotel on the quieter side of Kyoto Station. Close to subway, trains, Shinkansen and buses. The Airport Limo bus stops right outside the property. Also close to lots of eateries and shopping malls, including Don Quixote which closes late. The staff were friendly, room was clean, new and well-designed so although small, the space was maximised. Amenities were provided in my room, including slippers, toiletries and a clothes freshener (that was so impressive). The room also came with hairdryer, kettle, tea/coffee, drinking water, mini fridge, TV, humidifier and room-controlled air-conditioning. Everything that I needed, they provided. The bed and duvet was very comfortable. The best part is there is an onsen onsite, so I could experience a bath and a soak, blissful after all the walking I did. Once again, everything I needed for the onsen was provided.

Great hotel”
This is the best hotel so far on my trip in japan. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I forget that lady receptionist name. Her passion in service us on the kyoto direction and hotel facilities is great. The hotel located just in front of kyoto station and avanti mall. This is so convenient to go everywhere. The onsen and free ramen in the hotel is a very plus point. Very recommend this hotel for those are traveling to kyoto.

Excellent location, spa facilities, clean room but small”
3 mins walk from Kyoto station so excellent location if you need access to shinkensan, subway and buses. Lots of food options in Kyoto stations. There's a 711 convenient store on the same street and Lawson opposite the hotel. Lobby is nice. Spa open bath on 2nd floor free for hotel guest. The room is small but clean with everything I need. I will stay there again if I ever come back to Kyoto.

Exceptional”
For central Kyoto on my last night this was ideal. It isn’t nearmost of the places you would go sightseeing, and therefore isn’t a picturesque area, but for travel connections it is brilliant, just a very short walk from the main Kyoto Station. Staff were helpful and efficient, and my room was super clean, very well equipped- I loved the bathtub! Nice big bed, rather firm, but that’s standard in Japan. It was quiet. I was also able to store luggage there before and after check in which was perfect. I didn’t have the breakfast, so can’t comment. There is a convenience satire nearby and I picked up food there, plus many local cafes and restaurants in the Station and beyond.

Perfect location and value for money”
This is the best hotel stay we had during our 9 days trip to tokyo and kyoto. Perfectly located, walking distance from the Kyoto station, walking distance to Aeon Mall, 7-eleven, Kyoto Tower (15-20 mins walk), etc. Their Japanese style public bath was amazing, room and bathroom size was good enough given the room/bathroom sizes in Japan in general. I have no complains. I would definitely stay here again!

Awesome location clean hotel”
This place is value for money. Awesome location just 5 mins walk from Kyoto station where there are plenty of dinning options (nearest Asty street) and shopping options. Those coming from Osaka Kansai airport, the 1.5hrs airport bus transfer alights just right opposite the hotel across the street and it cost only about JPY2500 (one of the cheapest option). When I was doing my research the hotel is one of the cheapest option in the area. Although the room is really tiny it is well designed to maximise space and the bathroom is sparkly white and clean. The hotel also have FOC wifi and bath area for guest to enjoy if you wana stretch your legs out instead of a tiny bathtub in your room. The only lacking is poor 4G internet reception and weak wifi

Kyoto Station Hotel”
El Inn is one of a number of hotels around the Kyoto Station area so was very accessible by foot. It is well appointed and clean as you would expect from this large hotel. The room in Japanese style, was not big but big enough for 2 people. It had a bar fridge and tea and coffee making facilities. It was a good base to explore Kyoto and we would consider returning at some stage.

Very good location, just few steps from Kyoto Station. Staff are very friendly and helpful too! The best thing is the onsite onsen which all of us enjoyed the most. Although we (the ladies) were not comfortable in the beginning to be naked in front of strangers, we got used to it and really love the onsen. The hotel also provides everything like shower bath, shampoo, conditioner, facial wash, toner, moisturizer, toothbrush, tooth paste, shower cap, towels even mouth wash :) I will come back again if I visit Kyoto again!

Good location, good room 9/10”
The location is great, just a few steps away from Kyoto station traffic hub, although at first it’s bit of a trouble to find the right exit in Kyoto station since the station has got multiple levels and sometimes google map is not able to location which level you are on. I suggest you ask station staff for the right exit. A convenience store was just around the corner. The room is modern and has got all the amenities you need including an air purifier. I also find the coin washing and drying machine really helpful. The staff are professional and friendly.

A perfect stay”
Located just steps from Kyoto Station, the hotel is super convenient with many shops and restaurants at our choice. The hotel is well kept and facilities are up to date. We started for three days and very much enjoyed it. The hotel provides free Japanese-style hot tub (大汤浴), we used it every day. It was the best experience in our stay. Will definitely back if we re-visit Kyoto in the future.

Every thing is within 1 or 2 blocks walk.”
Across the hotel is the parking lot and loading/unloading area of tour buses and airport limosine buses. Beside that parking area is a mall with a local discount store, Don Quijote, where you can buy all things Japanese! On the other side, is Kyoto station, with complete dining and shopping options. I was able to complete my shopping for souvenirs without leaving the area! The hotel has a public bath, which is a must-experience in Japan; check-in and check-out is fast; and, you get to try different skin care products --you choose from their stash in the lobby. The staff is very Japanese: courteous and efficient. :)
