Nice Hotel”
Decent hotel for the price. I booked 2 rooms for 2 nights. I was disappointed that the rooms were on seperate floors even though I requested them to be together. Room was spotless, bed comfy, pillows comfy, bathroom clean, water pressure great, slow drain. Room was small but very adequate for the time spent in it. Very quiet city view from our room. You could here other doors being closed but that was the only noise I heard while in our room. Location is okay but the plus point is it is super close to the tram station. I would have preferred to be closer to the Anne Frank house area.. Staff very friendly and nice. I did not have the breakfast due to the price. There is a Starbucks and several cafes that serve breakfast right by the hotel.

Hotel conveniently located close to Leidseplein with tram and bus stops and Blue Boat canal ride. Bus 397 takes you to the airport from hotel in about 40 minutes. It leaves every 12 minutes. Tram takes you to and from Amsterdam Centraal train station. Hotel was clean and had all required amenities. The booking websites failed to mention the room had air conditioning. We had no idea and were worried because it was hot outside during our stay. I even tried to cancel and book another hotel. So glad I didn’t! Shower had very good water pressure. We ate breakfast at the hotel twice and it was good and reasonably priced for Amsterdam. There’s also free coffee and tea station. The seating area is nice and never crowded. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who’s planning to visit Amsterdam and doesn’t plan on spending a fortune.

Ideal for sightseeing”
The Hotel Espresso was amiable even before we got there: no extra charge for modifying our unchangeable reservation! The area is quiet, within walking distance to the big museums and to the City Centre. If you’re tired from walking around you may take the tram 1, 2 or 5 to come back to the hotel. Staff at the reception is very friendly and helpful and tries hard to answer all your questions. The Lobby area also serves as breakfast room. You get full American breakfast and excellent coffee. You may want to use the lobby/breakfast room throughout the day, especially when the weather does not allow sitting in the park or picnicking outdoors. The staff will get you plates and cutlery to make you enjoy the sandwiches and small treats bought in one of the surrounding shops. You may have coffee or tea at any time of the day for just 1,50 Euro. Don’t look for a telephone in the rooms (you won’t need it anyway) or for a mini-bar (you can buy mineral water and soft drinks from a machine in the lobby),and do not look out for a lot of storage place . The hotel did not save on the beds, however, they have the same fabulous quality as in a 5-star hotel. Everything is meticulously clean. There is one minimal point for criticism: since the windows cannot be opened, you are depending on the somewhat noisy air condition for fresh air.

Great hotel”
Great hotel. Staff excellent, friendly and happy to answer any questions. The room was very comfortable and warm!! Beds were also fab. The location was great, being close to the museum quarter and about 15 minutes from the action around dam square. The immediate locality was nice with some lovely bars and restaurants. Would definitely recommend the espresso for a short break in Amsterdam.

Great Find”
I stayed at Hotel espresso for 4 nights with a friend. Excellent location, near to bars and restaurants, tram and bus stops right outside and only a short walk into the centre of town. Clean, modern rooms, free wifi, free coffee/tea making facilities, free luggage storage available after check out. Staff were always friendly and helpful. Turned out to be a great last minute find; would definitely stay here again!

This was a lovely hotel in a great area of the city. The staff were friendly, approachable and helpful in all your queries and needs of your stay. Breakfast was really good with a great choice of food on offer and to a high standard. Room was a tad too small for me but that was my opinion, however, it was cleaned, and maintained everyday day with clean towels left on a daily basis. I would definitely used this hotel again for my next stay in Amsterdam!

Decent room ”
I would say the pricing for hotels in Amsterdam is relatively expensive as compared to other places in Europe. For the price paid i wouldn't say that it is worth it but for the price paid for a place to stay in Amsterdam is considered not bad. The hotel has a unique design and it is quote accesible by tram and the tram can take you to almost anywhere. The rooms are spacious compared to budget hotels and it is clean too. The only thing is that the sound proof system is not that good as we can hear people talking and walking during the night. Fast check-in and out which is good and the receptionist was friendly when we asked for recommendation for pancakes. She even bothered to search for the opening hours online just for us. I think the extra mile service is commendable! (: Overall i had a great stay! (;

Great hotel in the town”
I really enjoyed to stay in Espresso Hotel. Near to centrum, just 5 mnt by tram. Free tea and coffee 24h is a plus. Room is clean and they provide water cattle and hairdryer. Bed is comfy, tv with international channels (minus HBO ect). All the FO staff are very warm and helpful.

Nice location, okay hotel ”
Bed was comfy but just two single beds pushed together. The location is great, especially if you prefer the best of both worlds: touristy areas like Leidseplein or the Rijksmuseum and more local shops and restaurants/cafes in the old west area. I used to live in Amsterdam and therefore new where I wanted to stay beforehand.

Great location”
Friendly helpful staff. Really clean rooms and towels changed every day. Perfect location for walking around Amsterdam. Really nice touch offering free tea and coffee in reception. Only negative was the size of the room. Very small and extremely warm at all times. Although temperatures were quite cold outside over the past week, our room was actually uncomfortably warm, making it difficult to sleep. No possibility of fresh air, as window was within an enclosed courtyard. Would go back if an external room was on offer with possibility of opening window. Air conditioning would solve problem. Fan seemed to be for heating,

Room was reasonable size for the price. Very clean. Friendly staff. Great location! Easy (paid) parking available through advance reservation with hotel €25 a day. Only small complaint is rooms aren’t fully soundproof. You can hear doors opening and closing down the hall and the cleaning staff in the morning. Would stay here again.

Poor room in what I assume must be a better hotel overall”
Location was great. Close enough to central Amsterdam without being in the middle of the party scene. Staff was very helpful and friendly with every request. Free coffee in the lobby is a nice touch. Breakfast is decent but overpriced. No in-room refrigerator. The room I stayed in was the family-sized room with 4 single beds (can be pushed together into 2 doubles). I believe it is the only one in the building. The only natural light comes through a small 2-foot by 2-foot "porthole" in the ceiling. Bathroom in this room seems to be smaller than all others in the property (too small). I could recommend this hotel to a single traveller or a young couple, but for a family of 3-4 stuck using this room, I would steer them clear.

Stayed for a short city break. Easy travel from main station and to and from other Amsterdam sites. Hotel room was clean and well maintained, staff were helpful, 2 tram lines close to hotel. Would stay again.

Good experience at expresso hotel”
Expresso hotel with "Espresso machine" at lobby 24h is an excellent idea ! Staff very helpful, situation is good. Globally it's a good hotel !! We stayed 4 nights. 2 Remarks : 1/ The cleaning of the room was not great !! Lots of dust, behind the TV, and in the corners !! 2/ In the shower room, the sink was clogged! It was reported the 2nd day but nothing was done? Too bad !!

Nice hotel with good breakfast, close to museums”

Great location at a decent price”
Pros: location is great and very close to downtown, airport pick-up and drop-off bus station (about a 1 min walk or so, direct to/from airport, and much cheaper that taxi), vondelpark, grocery store and a few nice restaurants. Staff was nice and laid back. Hotel offered discounted tickets for boat rides (and other things but we didn't check other things). Shower was great (strong and adjustable shower head). (Minor) Cons: room was a tad bit on the small side for three people (2 adults and one kid) after putting down the Murphy a bed and with luggages, but it wasn't unmanageable.

Great, clean, central”
It's a really great little hotel, very clean, comfortable and well decorated. Very central - 5 minutes from galleries, but out of busy/loud areas of city. Great breakfast included. Parking available (depending on availability) across street underground. Expensive, but so were all the other places we looked at.
