So nice not to be in Venice central but had a complimentary water taxi every 1/2 hour for get to St Marcs Square.

Great getaway with Venice option ”
We chose the Excelsior on Lido because it's beach/pool with the easy option to go into Venice....so it's the best of both worlds. The complimentary boat to/from is a real tangible benefit that adds value to the price. The manager, Giorgia, was so helpful to us. She has a great understanding of hospitality and was incredibly professional and kind.

But if you come from San Marco with the luggage, they dont allow you to take the shuttle water taxi, they provide for clients. So thats embarassing, as you have to go to search for other water taxi.

Five star prices but not 5 star services. ”
Room was too hot, air conditioning had no instructions, staff could not help. When I finally got it working it was largely ineffective so had to sleep with windows wide open. TV only worked precariously by wiggling cables. Bed was hard, pillows saggy - not v. luxurious. Lighting in the room was v bright or off, no dimmers or zone lighting for relaxing. Bulbs missing. Parts of the decor have been refurbished but it is an incomplete job and there are tired old relics of the 1970's in places: the ceilings, pieces of older furniture, light fittings and trims and, I suspect, parts of the wiring. Food and drink are VERY expensive: Cipriano prices, so count €24 for a cocktail or €15 for a glass of wine! The food is not all it's cracked up to be either: standard buffet breakfast, not great coffee, etc. I had rather unfresh tasting prawns for lunch and my starter in the main restaurant tasted pre prepared is if it had come straight out of the fridge The main dining room looks tired.

The service personnel varied a lot in service quality. Eating lunch at the terrass, the service was super slow and snorky. We did not feel welcomed. The food was also okay, but not 5 star good! The pool side bar was also suuuper slow, but the personnel was friendly. Breakfast and check in counter personnel were great! Water bus into Venice was a great feature but the fact that they did not have enough boats (places onboard) from Venice to the hotel during a horrible windy and rainy evening wasn't nice at all. No shelter to wait for the next one either and you had to wait at the dock because the line of people who wanted to get back to the hotel was growing. The room was a bit outdated and first night we only got "turn down service" for one, ie. water and slippers for one although we were two staying in the room. Also an alarm went off during our second night at 5.00 and wasn't turned off until almost an hour later. That wasn't very nice. Location was great. I would recommend the hotel to other's but tell them that it wasn't really the 5 star experience one would have expected and paid for

A bit far from the main island and the port of the Lido island but worth staying here. There is a private harbour for this hotel for the transportation from main island. Hotel itself was gorgeous. Additionally, there were nice restaurants nearby. Recommend to stay.

I have stayed on the Lido before so already knew what a great location it is for those who want to get away from the crowds in Venice and yet still be with in easy reach of the sights. The private boat service from the hotel to Venice is superb and the trip is a memorable experience in itself. The breakfast was very good. We did not visit the other restaurants or bars. Our only complaint was the slow wi-fi which is not acceptable for a hotel of this class.

Stunning hotel ”
I visited this hotel 30 years ago for the day and have wanted to return ever since. It was a perfect ending to a family cruise through the Mediterranean this past summer. After the crowds throughout Europe staying here was so welcome. It’s quiet and relaxed. The pool and beach are beautiful. The conceirge recommended several restaurants that were among our favorites of the trip. Away from the crowds of San Marco but close enough to visit on a fun 10 minute vaporetta ride.

Very expensive for what you get! 9 euros for a small coffee. G&T 19 euros .. tiny tapas portions 9/10 euros each. Take out another mortgage you will need it 😊 Rooms are a little tired and dated but overall a lovely hotel with a fantastic water boat service to St Marks
