On the edge of the city”
We booked this hotel quite late, so ended up further from the city center than we had hoped. However, the proximity to public transportation allowed us to see everything that we wanted. There were four of us in a quadruple room. It was a bit tight, but comfortable enough, and clean. The shower in the bathroom was great, and when desperate we were also able to use the shared bathroom in the hallway next to our room. The staff were friendly and helpful, if not a bit overworked. The breakfast was OK, but the cooked items were less edible than the cold cuts and other items. We preferred to cater in for ourselves, but there is no fridge in the room, so had to buy food daily.
the woman in reception is rude , the room is very small and very hot no window or balcony ”
the greek woman in reception is so rude! She has a very bad behavior to work here
A vibrant city with lots of tourist attractions”
This is a hostel rather than a hotel. There's no air conditioner so I felt very hot inside the room during summer. The shared bathroom is clean but for a skinny guy like me also felt very difficult to move when getting changed inside. I think for the same amount of room rate I could've found a better hotel. And there's one thing worth to mention: if you arrive from Schiphol Airport, take the train to "Amsterdam RAI" station, then take tram route no. 4 and get off at Amstelkade. You will enjoy cheaper train fare and faster tram connection to the hotel than you go from Amsterdam Centraal Station. That's for sure.
Nice ! ”
Staffs there very friendly and helpful ! Location is about 25mn from central station. You need to share toilet and bathroom but everything else is nice.
It is good for traveller”
The hotel has a great value of money. Good location and service.
Be aware parking is €27 per 24 hrs ... not cheap! Everything else was fine though 👍🏻
We stayed here for my 21st in Amsterdam found the staff were rude. We weren’t alone in our room too we woke up to our bags chewed and food had been eaten and torn so either a mouse or a rat was in our room it’s discusting.
Don’t recommend ”
Bed was extremely uncomfortable. Bathroom was very small, could barely move in there. The shower was dirty, huge ball of hair on the shower floor when we got there. The shower water was also impossible to get to a good temp and continuously went boiling hot to freezing cold. It was the cheapest we could find that was within walking distance to the centre (still a fairly long walk) however was still very expensive for what we stayed in.
Good value for money, staff were very helpful. Only flaw is walls are thin so noise travels easily”
The staff were instantly very kind and helpful as soon as we arrived, they provided us with a map showing us where we were, the best places to go and the easiest ways to travel around the city. The location is also ideal as it's hidden away from the main road which helps stop any sound pollution but is still only a quick walk from the tram stop. However, it is just as easy to walk into the centre from there which also provides a great opportunity to explore the local shops and Amsterdam in general. In terms of the rooms they're pretty much what you pay for, they're nothing fancy however still nice and comfortable and nicer than staying in hostel. The only real flaw is with how thin the walls are, this we found a bit of an issue with our room as we were right outside the cleaners storage room so heard them in the mornings and also on one night when some of the neighbors got in late and were quite loud. Apart from that the hotel was great and would happily stay there again.
An inexpensive place close to the city center”
I stayed along with 2 other friends at Hotel Flipper as we found it to be located fairly close to the city center and at a decent price. The space is quite crammed, but we expected that. The important thing was that it was comfortable enough to spend a couple of weary nights in and save us time transiting back and forth. The place is actually quite close to a lot of local attractions like the Heineken experience and the canal tour, from where several others are rather close by or just a tram ride away. The downside is that there are hardly any decent cafes or shops nearby, thankfully, that wasn't really necessary. Overall, a decent place for the money.
Too far away!”
Needs an hour to walk into city center, too far away. Rooms were very small and did not include shower and toilet, you need to use them on hallway what is not comfortable. Biggest problem was parking, even you pay 35€ per night per room you need to pay extra 27€ per night for parking in vicinity of the hotel. Cannot say much about staff, because did not communicate with them after fast check-in.
Since most of the hotels in Amsterdam are very expensive, this hotel can be considered reasonably priced. My double room with a small bathroom, on the uppermost floor, should be a single room. There is no place for the luggage and they put the kettle and cups on top of the small cupboard. The sockets are not conveniently located and there is no lift in the hotel. On the other hand, the hotel is clean, the breakfast at 6.5 euro is very good and it takes a 7 minute walk to the main street where you can take the Number 4 tram to downtown Amsterdam.
Small double room is exactly what you get!”
We stayed in s small double room with private bathroom during Hollands heat wave, unfortunately our room didn't have a window making our time in the room very uncomfortable. Also they're not joking when they say 'small' it's a matchbox and wouldn't recommend if you're clostrophic. You can get a tram from relatively close by and get into dam square within about 10/15 minutes so the location wasn't much of a problem however if you want to be near the hussle & bussle this area certainly isn't, it is amongst a lot of residential flat blocks so not much going on nearby. Staff were friendly and helpful the reception desk is 24 hours although you cannot check in until 2. Room was cleaned daily with fresh towels and the hotel itself was very clean.
Value for money”
Room were small but clean. Very steep and narrow steps which can pose some difficulty for big luggage, especially in higher floors. Rooms were cleaned everyday which is great considering this is a budget hotel in Europe. Overall, hotel is was good value for money.

Room were small but clean. Very steep and narrow steps which can pose some difficulty for big lugage. Rooms were cleaned everyday which is great considering this is a budget hotel in Europe. Internet access was included in the price but not very reliable. There are pretty cheap but decent restaurants nearby, especially an Indonesian restaurant where you can get great meals (3 dishes + rice) for just 7 Euros. Overall, I would rate this a good value for money.
the room is very small then the staff changed our room to even smaller with tiny bathroom hardly can stand in it and smelly. will never book there again
There was mice ”
There was mice which was disgusting!
It’s better than the 3 other hotels I have been in ”
It’s quiet and peaceful then the hotels in Amsterdam mane center I recermend for families, not for those that want to party all night long
Friendly staff. Wonderful facilities.
