Nice Friendly Hotel”
Booked into this hotel for 15 nights as family are joining us during the second week. We’re staying in a cabana which has plenty of room & good air con. Pretty gardens with 2 small pools, good for families and couples. Great breakfast buffet with plenty of choice, an added bonus is breakfast is served until 11. Location good for everything, beach, restaurants, shops. Galle Fort is a short drive away. Overall no complaints - good value for money.

Great with kids, it is a large resort with breakfast buffet, but for now all we needed.”
Great swimming pool for kids. We noticed everything was in Russian language translated, and staff also talked bit Russian. We had a good time in the cabana, but make sure muskito net works, and you bring one for the baby. Cot is available though.

Good location, lovely pools, terrible wifi”
Pros: Nice hotel in a good location, easy to walk to main beach bars and restaurants. The two swimming pools are lovely & great to cool off. Breakfast was good, staff friendly and amazing to see some monkeys jumping on the roofs one morning while we ate! Cons: The wifi didn't work outside the restaurant, there wasn't even a signal in the cabana room area at all.

Excellent.”
We upgraded to a chalet for just $10 extra and it was fully worth it. The hotel has 2 pools. The staff are always friendly and very accommodating. The breakfast can get to be a little dull, as with most hotel breakfasts. Their restaurant is very good and excellent value for money! You get a choice of soup, the main you ordered and a choice of desserts from $8 to $11. The portions are big and very good. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. They have a bar but we never saw a bar-man but the staff will get you whatever you want to mix your own drinks! The Srilankan Lion larger is always served in a chilled glass... most civilised indeed! The only criticism is that the WIFI is very weak in the rooms... which worked out well because we ended up doing more!

Very good”
Deluxe room was not really deluxe. Had air con but not effective. Also WiFi only available in main areas of hotel, not in the rooms which you don’t know till you arrive. Cute dog that they have hanging out near the hotel. Hot towel on arrival was nice.

Average place to stay”
This place is a mixed bag. On the one hand the room has a sophisticated bath tab with inbuilt speakers. On the other hand it is broken and there is no way to know how to simply get hot water (a basic requirement). Too many mosquitoes in the room. No phone in the room to call the reception and ask anything. The room was across the road in a different building so a long walk from reception/restaurant/ pool. Breakfast took 1 hour to prepare (not exaggerating). Without asking explicilty, they didnt give the complimentary water bottle till the end of stay. Pool is nice. Breakfast was ok. Location is good (close to Unwantuna beach).

Not Bad”
1. Location: it is located in an alley, a little hard to find. Not near the beach, about 10 min walk. 2.Faciloties: very nice swiming pools, rooms and common room area. No wifi in the room, only in Lobby, that is really incovenience. 3. Accommodation:Breakfast time is 8am to 11am, the begining time is too late. Rich breakfast, a lot of fruits and bread. 4. Staff: Nice.

Just an average stay if got at good deal”
It has ok furniture, small room and a clean garden. It has a restaurant (only for a good breakfast) and an outdoor pool. Overall just a decent place to stay. The beach is far away and you will have to rent a vehicle. Not much shops nearby. You have to catch the staff during breakfast time if you require any assistance else there is hardly one person at the reception.

Great Place!”
I don't imagine the stay being much better. Nice pools, big room with a small hot tub in the bath room (we booked super deluxe, I believe?), good location, and good food too. I'd like to point out that the restaurant appears overpriced at first, but the price is for a course on most meals (soup + dessert included). In light of that and the generally high prices in Unawatuna, not bad. As other reviews mention, wifi won't reach your room. I got a Sri Lankan sim and hotspotted my phone. Only like $10 for a sim and 10GB data. A worthwhile investment if internet is essential to your life (as it is to mine)

Delightful Hotel in a lovely setting”
All the staff were more than helpful, especially Asela in particular who really looked after us. Our twin room and en-suite were both very spacious and had the added benefit of mosquito nets round each bed. The gardens and swimming pools are really well maintained. The food was excellent, our favourite meal being the Sri Lankan fish curry. The hotel is located in a very peaceful setting and is only a 10 minute walk from the beautiful beach at Unawatuna.

A Haven of Peace ”
A welcome escape from the traffic chaos on Unawatuna main street, this is a super hotel with excellent staff. Comfortable beds, excellent pools and very reasonably priced meals are the main strong points.

3 days in Unawatuna”
In Sri Lanka in group of 12, first stop Unawatuna to unwind. Flower Garden perfectly nice hotel, we had a cabin, which was spacious and well-equipped, nice big bed. Everything worked OK. Building work underway when we were there (Oct 2018), so bit disruptive, noisy and messy, especially after rain, paths very muddy walking back to room. Surprised we didn't receive a free drink, small discount (etc) as compensation for this. Close to beach, but not easy to find way back. Not well signed from beach road. Take careful note in daylight! Restaurant / breakfast very nice, staff friendly.

Great place for a couple of days ”
Flower garden is a good spot for a couple of days. We used it as a base to explore Galle, Unawatuna and Jungle Beach. We chose to eat at the nearby beachside restaurants which were cheaper so cannot offer a review on food. The hotel is 3 star so don't expect brand new facilities but the sheets were clean and crisp. Lovely pool area and garden, the sun lounges would wear better if they were plastic rather than wood.

Great Old Style Hotel”

Great service & location. Good staff. Affordable”
We spent 5 of our 7 days in Sri Lanka at this hotel and it was the best decision we made. The hotel was personally recommended by a colleague and we were not disappointed. The staff is friendly, rooms are clean, bathrooms are spacious. I really liked their breakfast, and the proximity to the beach and other restaurants in Unawatuna. The best part was the convenient and affordable deals we got through the hotel for all our nearby trips: Yala National Park, Whale watching in Mirissa, etc. The hotel provided the best rates (for an end-to-end package starting from a hotel pick-up to the final drop back to the hotel) as compared with the rates you would get directly from Yala or Whale watching tour operators! The only challenge we faced was in communicating with the staff at the hotel. Only a few of them understood and spoke in broken English, and there was probably just one guy who was fluent in the language. Their menu also seemed slightly limited, but with a range of options to eat nearby, it wasn't an issue at all.

Great place to stay in Unawatuna.”
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Flower Garden. Deluxe cabana was fantastic and very comfortable indeed. Staff were good and the two pools were very nice and food not bad either. Good location - 5-10 minute walk to the beach. Recommend this place.

The hotel had cleand and nicely designed rooms”
It was good. The rooms were clean and spacious . But the resort refused driver accommodation which is normally provided by all resorts in Unawatuna (including them)
