Fantastic onsen with a view”

The Goryukan was located central to skiing and main part of Hoppo. Very friendly staff with a fantastic open air onsen (hot spring) with a great view. 5 out of 5 I'll stay here again!

Great value, helpful staff”

Had a wonderful 4 night stay here. Very clean, though a little outdated. The staff was helpful with arranging dinner reservations and shuttle rides. It’s a short walk to the Nakiyama lifts and an even shorter walk to shuttles that will take you to Hakuba47. Breakfast was a wonderful buffet with a mix of western and Japanese food. The miso soup was amazing! We went to the Onsen every day and it was extremely clean. The outside pool has a very relaxing ambiance. Overall a great stay and would recommend.

Great location, 5 min walk to ski . Nice restaurant with nice view, and good food. Great customer service and shuttle bus to bring us back after rent of ski equipment made all seems easy n fuss free. Nice room size too

Amazing stay! ”

This was the greatest hotel I have ever stayed at! We were a group of 5 adults and the room was a great size, comfy beds, super clean and cozy. The onsens are incredible, amazing location and the staff are beyond friendly and helpful and cheerful all the time. Will recommend to everyone and will most definitely Come back!

Comfortable and convenient”

Very pleasant. Staff were very nice and accommodating. Hotel is just a short 1 min bus ride from the Nakayama ski slopes (hotel provides half hourly free shuttle bus rides). Or you could also walk about 5 minutes to the same slope. Rooms are large and clean.

japanese RYOKAN style with ONSEN. great foods. free shuttle service from and to JR HAKUBA station. good for ski player and nice ONSEN.

Very nice location at reasonable price”

It was a very pleasant stay, very close to the ski slopes. The hotel was a bit outdated, but one could look at that as charm.

Clean hotel with on-site ski rental shop”

room is cleaner and bigger than average hotel rooms in the uk, but there is a slight odour in the room don't know from where. breakfast is japanese style and choice is ok. the hotel staff is friendly although communicating in english can be a little troublesome at times. i think they understand most of what i said if i talk slowly and it's more difficult for them to communicate what they want to say. the ski rental shop is on the basement which is very handy and hotel guest receives 20% discount. you can also buy ski pass at reception at a discounted price. they provide free miso soup and steamed bum in the afternoon. nice! one small episode made the whole stay less than perfect. they mixed our ski pass (different for weekdays and weekend) so we can get on to the lift. we had to get back to the ticket office to sort it out. luckily the office staff was very helpful, she called the hotel for us and explained the whole thing. hotel send staff to delivery the right ski pass. however, we wasted more than a hour because of this. what's worse was that we lost one of the tickets as they were in and out of the pocket so many times during the whole process. we still had to pay for the lost ticket!
