As hotel is located on the 8th floor of the building and so on,so it has already excluded you from the noise of bars and clubs during the night time. Staffs are friendly and good English speakers. You can also rent some amenities to use in the room until the check out date. I rent the straightener as mine can not be used due to the different type of adapter. The room is very clean even the size is a bit small but still can place my 1 BIG luggage on the floor. The restroom still be my impression as same as other hotel under WHG that I had ever been. The size is quite big with well separated zone of wet and dry as well as the big bath tub and shower zone with a high flow of water that make you relax whenever you bath. Normally, staff said that they will just clean your room every 3 days in a roll for the green policy but if you want them to clean or make your bed new before that you just put the sign at the door which is very convenient. There is a vending machine for drinks and ice maker machine that open 24hr on the floor you stay (ice is free) In overall, it is value for money and I love to stay again if I visit Shinjuku.

Compact Comfort with a Godzilla Twist

9.2

Reviewed 10 December 2025

I recently stayed at **Hotel Gracery Shinjuku** and it turned out to be one of the highlights of my Tokyo trip. The location is unbeatable—right in the heart of Kabukicho, surrounded by endless dining, shopping, and entertainment options, and just a short walk to Shinjuku Station for easy access across the city. The rooms are compact, which is typical for Tokyo, but they’re cleverly designed to maximize space and comfort. Everything felt spotless and modern, with thoughtful amenities like a mini-fridge, kettle, and reliable Wi-Fi. I especially loved the city views from my window, and of course, the quirky touch of the **Godzilla head** on the hotel terrace. It’s such a fun feature you can even get up close for photos, making the stay feel uniquely Tokyo. Dining was convenient, with a café and Italian restaurant on-site, plus a breakfast buffet offering both Japanese and Western options. Practical extras like coin-operated laundry machines and a ladies-only floor added to the sense of comfort and security. What stood out most was the balance between efficiency and atmosphere. The staff were friendly and helpful, the hotel was impeccably clean, and the Godzilla theme gave it a playful charm that made it more than just a place to sleep. Overall, I’d highly recommend Hotel Gracery Shinjuku to anyone visiting Tokyo. Yes, the rooms are small and there’s no gym or spa, but the location, service, and unique character more than make up for it. If you want to be in the middle of the action while enjoying a memorable stay, this hotel is a fantastic choice.

A Solid Stay in the Heart of Tokyo

Hotel Gracery Shinjuku is a great mid-range option for travelers looking to stay in the heart of Tokyo. The English-speaking staff are polite, efficient, and accommodating, and the hotel offers a wide range of services that cover everything you might need during your stay. The atmosphere is charming and memorable, especially thanks to the signature Godzilla-themed decorations that add a fun, iconic touch to the experience. The rooms are compact—as is typical in Tokyo—but still comfortable, provided you’re not traveling with bulky luggage. Located in Kabukicho, the hotel is ideal for those who enjoy nightlife, with countless bars and restaurants just a five-minute walk away. And with Shinjuku Station also nearby, getting around the city is incredibly convenient, whether you’re heading to tourist spots or exploring lesser-known areas. Overall I highly recommend it, especially to couples and those traveling to Tokyo for the first time.

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Gracery. The location is excellent, making it incredibly convenient for both dining and shopping. The room was clean and surprisingly spacious by Japanese standards, which made our stay very comfortable. With plenty of food options within a 100-metre radius, everything we needed was right at our doorstep. Highly recommended.

Hotel room is clean and sized around 180 square feet, acceptable for Japanese standard. Bathroom is quite big with separate bathtub and shower.

Hotel was comfortable but room quite small and basic for the price. I guess it didnt matter as much since we were out all day, but 2 suitcases was all that would fit my queen size deluxe bedroom. So felt tight when we were in with a 4 yr old. Location was perfect, close to shops and restaurant and train station. We liked it overall.

Overall this place met what we expected. It wasn't a 5 diamond hotel but it get pretty much 5 stars. The staff we encountered was very friendly and accommodated English speakers well, which was important as we.didnt speak Japanese well. The room size is typical to what Japan has to offer. Believe it or not, the bathroom was a good size compared to others. It does show a little age but overall, no smell and clean. The only thing for us is the bed was firmer than we liked but still fine for us. So if you need a soft bed, maybe call them and see if they have a topper they can put on. 7/11 is literally in the building on the first floor, nice! One side.of the building is like a designated (get to drunk and such and laydown on the street.) We noticed Police standing by them to keep them in check? Burnbeaudes that everything else seems very safe. Very central location, so expect a lot of people and have fun.

Nice but small rooms unless twin room

We stay separately for 1 night in standard double room before going to Nozawa and then we returned and upgraded to twin room for 4 nights. The standard double room is acceptable for a short stay of 1-2 nights with a maximum of 2 luggage. The twin room is pricey but roomier and liveable. Our twin room has a small window at your chest level and above. We are surprised both rooms have a good size sit down area (like onsen) for shower with strong water pressure and both come with a good size bathtub where u can straighten your legs. Facilities are adequate, clean and well kept. Godzilla is still closed but doesn’t make a difference to our stay. It is a short walk from the Shinjuku station, manageable even with luggage. Taxi is ready and available at the entrance.

Excellent location put roo was too small

Reviewed 17 July 2025

The location is excellent, conveniently situated near a variety of restaurants and cafés, and just a short walk from the nearest metro station. The room was exceptionally clean,. However, I found the room size to be uncomfortably small, even by Japanese standards. One particular issue was the extremely narrow window. Although the view outside was beautiful, the limited size of the window made the room feel quite claustrophobic. It is difficult to understand why such a small window design was chosen, especially given the otherwise impressive surroundings. I stayed for only one night, and I was ultimately relieved that it was a short stay. Despite traveling alone and carrying only a backpack, I still found the space far too constrained to be comfortable.

We stayed 3 nights there. The hotel itself is very clean, modern and well ran. The physical location is actually about 13 mins walk from Shinjuku station, provided that you do not lose your way. In between ( that’s we who kept losing our way inside the station endlessly ) . The area is very happening. More suitable for groups of adult family, couple or group of friends. A bit seedy and the streets are not v clean. Having said that, it’s a very happening area. We stayed for 3 nights, saw live performances of singing, Hugh groups of ppl queueing.. and etc etc. one of its kind of experience. A lot more interesting than staying elsewhere.

We stayed here for the 8-9 days that we were in Tokyo. Location is great and easy access to train. It is in the red light district so you’ll have a lot of people in the streets and lots of trash at night and in the morning. There are locals that clean it up everyday so it’s not dirty. We stayed in the double room for two, and it is small. We’ve stayed at hotels with similar sized rooms so it wasn’t anything new. The shower is great though! Everyone rushes to do their laundry so you’ll have to wait a while to dry. The dryer for mine wasn’t working after 3 tries to fix, so I had housekeeping do my laundry. Friendly staff and clean hotel.

Pros: Excellent location right in the heart of Shinjuku. Rooms are clean, spacious, and overall very comfortable. The Godzilla Head adds a unique and memorable touch. Staff were polite, attentive, and helpful throughout the stay. Cons: Some furniture has small gaps where items like documents can slip through. One of ours fell inside, and we had to call maintenance to retrieve it. The main Godzilla Head viewing area was closed during our stay. Security is quite strict, likely because the location and attraction draw non-hotel visitors. Be prepared to carry your room key card at all times, as you will need it to access the lift and can only go to your assigned floor.

Memorable Honeymoon Stay in the Heart of Tokyo!

Reviewed 25 October 2024

From the moment we arrived at Hotel Gracery Shinjuku, we knew we had chosen the perfect spot for our honeymoon. The hotel’s welcoming ambiance offered a delightful escape in the bustling heart of Tokyo. Location: Hotel Gracery Shinjuku boasts an unbeatable location right in the vibrant Shinjuku district. While the famous Godzilla head terrace was unfortunately closed during our visit, the hotel still exuded a unique charm with fun Godzilla-themed touches throughout. It’s a fantastic base for exploring the city, with plenty of shops, restaurants, and attractions just a short walk away. Room: Our room was compact, which was expected based on our booking, but it exceeded our expectations in terms of comfort and tranquility. Surprisingly quiet for a nightlife hub, it provided the ideal setting for restful nights after our busy days of sightseeing. Service: The staff at Hotel Gracery Shinjuku were exceptional and truly enhanced our stay. They ensured our room was refreshed every 3–4 days, and even if we opted out of housekeeping, they would thoughtfully hang fresh towels and toiletries on our door. Their attention to detail—like refilling our daily supply of water—was impressive and made us feel well cared for. Dining: While the breakfast selection was somewhat limited for the price, it was sufficient if you prefer a quick start to your day. If you’re adventurous, we recommend exploring nearby cafés for a more varied breakfast experience. Amenities: Though we were disappointed that the Godzilla head terrace was closed, the hotel offered other enjoyable amenities that added to the overall experience. Overall Experience: Our stay at Hotel Gracery Shinjuku was truly memorable, and we can’t recommend it enough for couples seeking a romantic getaway. Thank you for making our honeymoon so special!

Hotel with a good location

A nice hotel, right in the center of the hustle and bustle, everything looks good. The rooms are tidied every day. The bathroom is very spacious, which we believe is less useful. It would be better if the sleeping area were expanded. Cleanliness needs to be improved, especially since our room had a lot of fine fuzz that made me sneeze; maybe the sofa needs to be vacuumed every time it is cleaned. Essentially, this is a hotel that is recommended for those who enjoy the crowded center.

Hotel might be nice but rooms this small can’t be considered 4 stars

8.0

Reviewed 17 June 2025

Basically it would be a nice standard hotel, with ok services and staff, daily making up of the room (if you want), well sized bathroom with comfortable shower. That’s about it. We didn’t try the breakfast cause there are so many options in the city that it felt not worth it. Now the huge issue: how small the room was. Seriously there’s no space to open 1 medium checked suitcase imagine 2! The bed of course can’t be different, it was a small double, so be aware if you’re 2 people and one is a big person in any way tall or large or whatever, it will be hard to sleep comfortably! The only upside was that being the room so small the aircon was refreshing almost instantly, although be careful because it had a very high drying effect, I noticed it on my eyes in the next days. This said, location, bar, were very good, and we didn’t have any other issue.

Amazing location ! First night stayed in standard double was a bit small but it’s ok, has everything you need. Love the shower & bathtub combination. But there was some hair on the bed I cleaned it out myself. The bed and pillows comfy , peaceful sleep. Stayed also few days in triple room, great space and room amenities. But was city facing and noisy , sleep was not great. If you’re staying here don’t face the city. Bathroom was also not as clean, was smelling a bit and no cleaning staff late evening to clean . Not sure if I’ll stay again

Comfy bed, clean, very helpful and friendly staff, beautiful cocktail bar with views of the Godzilla. Easy to get a taxi from reception - it was waiting outside for us at the time we asked. Wonderful Stay with Great Service and Excellent Location

I recently stayed at Hotel Gracery Shinjuku for five nights and had a truly wonderful experience. During my stay, I needed extra assistance with my luggage, and the hotel staff were very helpful, they suggested I purchase a suitably sized box to ship out some items that couldn’t fit into my luggage, saving me the need to buy an additional suitcase. I also discovered that there is a convenient direct bus service to the airport from the hotel; it would be even better if information about this service could be made more readily available to guests. Aside from that, the spaciousness of the room, the excellent location, and the overall cleanliness were all very satisfying. Overall, it was an exceptional stay, and I definitely plan to return in the future.
